MB991223: Test Harness Set STEP 1. Check rear blower motor connector C-20 for damage.

Q: Is rear blower motor connector C-20 in good condition?
YES:
Go to Step 2.
NO:
Repair or replace the connector. Refer to
HARNESS
CONNECTOR INSPECTION
. The rear blower motor should operate
normally.
STEP 2. Measure the voltage at rear blower motor connector C-20.

1. Disconnect rear blower motor connector C-20, and measure the voltage at
the wiring harness side.
2. Turn the ignition switch to the "ON" position.
3. Turn the blower speed selection dial to the "MAX" position.
4. Turn the mode selection dial to the "Face" position.
5. Turn the rear blower switch to the "ON" position.

6. Measure the voltage between terminal 3 and ground.
The measured value should be approximately 12 volts (battery positive volta
ge).

Q: Is the measured voltage approximately 12 volts?
YES:
Go to Step 13 .
NO:
Go to Step 3.
STEP 3. Check rear blower relay connector C-209 for loose, corroded or
damaged terminals, or terminals pushed back in the connector.

YES:
Go to Step 4.
NO:
Repair or replace the connector. Refer to
HARNESS

. The rear blower motor should operate
normally.
STEP 4. Check the rear blower relay continuity.
Follow the table below to check the rear blower relay for continuity.

REAR BLOWER RELAY CONTINUIT

Q: Is the rear blower relay in good condition?
YES:
Go to Step 5.
NO:
Replace the rear blower relay. The rear blower motor should operate
normally.
STEP 5. Measure the voltage at rear blower relay connector C-209.
1. Disconnect rear blower relay connector C-209, and measure the voltage at
the junction block side.
2. Turn the ignition switch to the "ON" position.
3. Turn the blower speed selection dial to the "MAX" position.
4. Turn the mode selection dial to the "Face" position.
5. Turn the rear blower switch to the "ON" position.
