5. If repair or adjustment is not possible, replace the door assembly.
POWER WINDOW TIMER FUNCTION CHECK After the doors are closed and the ignition switch is turned to the "LOCK" (OFF)
position, the power windows should work within 30 seconds. The timer expires if
the front door is opened during that 30 second time. If it does not, carry out the
timer troubleshooting in SYMPTOM CHART
.
POWER WINDOW OPERATING CURRENT CHECK 1. Remove the power window fuse and connect an ammeter as shown in the
illustration.
2. When the power window switch is pressed in the "UP" position, a large amoun
t
of current flows from the time the window starts to close until it is fully closed,
Measure the current during this time
Standard value (A): 5 +/-1A [Power supply voltage 14.5 +/-0.5V, 25°C (77°
F)]
3. If the operation current is outside the standard value, refer to INPUT SIGNAL
CHART
.

INTRODUCTION TO HEATER, AIR CONDITIONING AND VENTILATION DIAGNOSISAir is drawn into the heater assembly from either the outside, or from the inside of
the passenger cabin if DEFROST, maximum cooling or RECIRCULATION are
selected. The air is then forced through the evaporator where heat is removed,
cooling and de-humidifying the air. Depending on the temperature selected, a
portion of this air is then forced through the heater core to achieve the selected
discharge temperature.
If the system does not cool properly, look for a problem with the refrigerant, blower
or air distribution systems. If the system does not heat properly, look for a problem
with the coolant, blower or air distribution systems. In either case all system fuses,
circuit breaker and relays should be checked. HEATER, AIR CONDITIONING AND VENTILATION DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLESHOOTING
STRATEGY Use these steps to plan your diagnostic strategy. If you follow them carefully, you
will be sure that you have exhausted most of the possible ways to find a heater, air
conditioning and ventilation fault.
1. Gather information from the customer.
2. Verify that the condition described by the customer exists.
3. Find the malfunction by following
SYMPTOM CHART
4. Verify that the malfunction is eliminated.

4. Check to be sure that the roof lid glass is flush with the roof panel at corner
areas.
5. Check to be sure that the sunroof operates smoothly. SUNROOF SAFETY FUNCTION CHECK 1. Close the roof lid glass by applying an approximately 10mm (0.39 inch)
thickness solid object placed at a right angle to the roof lid glass.
2. Check to see if the roof lid glass opens after the motor turns when the roof lid
glass catches the object (Refer to SYMPTOM CHART
).
SUNROOF CHECK Check to see that the sunroof operates by pressing the sunroof switch. Perform
troubleshooting if operations malfunction (Refer to SYMPTOM CHART
).
ROOF LID GLASS OPERATION CURRENT CHECK 1. Remove the fuse of the sunroof, then connect the circuit tester as shown.
