4. CHECK CIRCUIT BETWEEN IPDM E/R AND PARKING, LICENSE PLATE, TAIL LAMPS
1. Turn ignition switch OFF.
2. Disconnect IPDM E/R connector, front combination lamp RH and LH connectors, rear combination lamp
RH and LH connectors and licence plate lamp RH and LH connectors.
3. Check continuity between IPDM E/R harness connector and
front combination lamp harness connector.
4. Check continuity between IPDM E/R harness connector (A) and
rear combination lamp harness connector (B).
5. Check continuity between IPDM E/R harness connector (A) and
license plate lamp harness connector (B).
6. Check continuity between IPDM E/R harness connector (A) and
ground.
OK or NG
OK >> GO TO 5.
NG >> Repair harness or connector.

5. CHECK IPDM E/R OUTPUT VOLTAGE
With CONSULT-II
1. Connect IPDM E/R connector.
2. Select “IPDM E/R” on CONSULT-II and select “ACTIVE TEST” on “SELECT DIAG MODE” screen.
3. Select “TAIL LAMP” on “SELECT TEST ITEM” screen.
4. Touch “ON” screen.
5. When parking, license plate and tail lamps is operating, check
voltage between IPDM E/R harness connector and ground.
Without CONSULT-II
1. Connect IPDM E/R connector.
2. Start auto active test. Refer to PG-21, "
Auto Active Test" .
3. When parking, license plate and tail lamps is operating, check voltage between IPDM E/R harness con-
nector and ground.
OK or NG
OK >> GO TO 6.
NG >> Replace IPDM E/R. Refer to PG-28, "
Removal and Installation of IPDM E/R" .

Tail lamp Indicator Does Not IlluminateBKS002FU
1. CHECK UNIFIED METER AND A/C AMP.
1. Select “METER A/C AMP” on CONSULT-II, and perform self-diagnosis for “METER A/C AMP”.
2. Check if malfunction is indicated.
Is malfunction indicated?
YES >> Repair or Replace malfunctioning parts.
NO >> GO TO 2.
2. CHECK COMBINATION METER INPUT SIGNAL
1. Select “METER A/C AMP” on CONSULT-II.
2. Select “DATA MONITOR” on “SELECT DIAG MODE” screen.
Make sure that “LIGHT IND” turns ON-OFF according to lighting
switch operation.
OK or NG
OK >> Replace combination meter. Refer to DI-25, "Disassem-
bly and Assembly of Combination Meter" .
NG >> Replace unified meter and A/C amp. Refer to DI-34,
"Removal and Installation of Unified Meter and A/C
Amp." .

1. CHECK IPDM E/R FUNCTION
Make sure that lighting switch is OFF. And then check if ignition switch is ON or OFF when parking, license
plate, and tail lamps go OFF.
Check results
Lamps go OFF when ignition switch is ON>>Replace IPDM E/R. Refer to PG-28, "Removal and Installation
of IPDM E/R" .
Lamps go OFF when ignition switch is OFF>>GO TO 2.
Lamps do not go OFF when ignition switch is ON and OFF.>>GO TO 4.
2. CHECK BCM INPUT SIGNAL
1. Select “BCM” on CONSULT-II, and select “HEAD LAMP” on “SELECT TEST ITEM” screen.
2. Select “DATA MONITOR” on “SELECT DIAG MODE” screen.
Make sure that “IGN ON SW” turns ON-OFF according to igni-
tion switch operation.
OK or NG
OK >> Replace BCM, refer to BCS-16, "Removal and Installa-
tion of BCM" or IPDM E/R, refer to PG-28, "Removal
and Installation of IPDM E/R" .
NG >> GO TO 3.
3. CHECK BCM POWER SUPPLY CIRCUIT
1. Turn ignition switch OFF.
2. Disconnect BCM connector.
3. Check voltage between BCM harness connector and ground.
OK or NG
OK >> Replace BCM. Refer to BCS-16, "Removal and Installation of BCM" .
NG >> Repair harness or connector.When ignition switch is in
the ON position: IGN ON SW ON
When ignition switch is in
the OFF or ACC position: IGN ON SW OFF

Without CONSULT-II
1. Start auto active test. Refer to PG-21, "
Auto Active Test" .
Do parking, license plate and tail lamps turn OFF?
YES >> GO TO 5.
NO >> Replace IPDM E/R. Refer toPG-28, "
Removal and
Installation of IPDM E/R" .
5. CHECK CIRCUIT BETWEEN COMBINATION SWITCH AND BCM
With CONSULT-II

OK or NG
OK >> Replace BCM. Refer to BCS-16, "Removal and Installa-
tion of BCM" .
NG >> Check combination switch (lighting switch). Refer to LT- 1 8 5 , "
Combination Switch Inspection" .

LICENSE PLATE LAMP
1. Remove trunk lid finisher inner. Refer to EI-59, "REMOVAL AND
INSTALLATION FOR TRUNK LID FINISHER INNER" .
2. Turn bulb socket counterclockwise and unlock it.
3. Remove bulb from its socket.
PARKING LAMP
Refer toLT- 3 5 , "Bulb Replacement" .
TAIL LAMP
Refer to LT- 2 1 6 , "Bulb Replacement" .

Removal
1. Remove trunk lid finisher. Refer to EI-33, "Removal and Installa-
tion" .
2. While pressing the license plate lamp to left side, pull right side
of it and remove.
3. Disconnect license plate lamp connector.
Installation
Installation is the reverse order of removal.
PARKING LAMP

TAIL LAMP

REAR TURN SIGNAL LAMP BULB, BACK-UP LAMP BULB AND STOP/TAIL LAMP BULB
1. Open trunk, and then remove trunk wheel house finisher. Refer to EI-58, "Removal and Installation for
Trunk Room Trim" .
2. Turn tail lamp bulb socket (1), rear turn signal lamp bulb socket
(2), back-up lamp bulb socket (3) (right side) and rear fog lamp
bulb socket (3) (left side) counterclockwise and unlock it.
3. Remove tail lamp bulb (4), rear turn signal lamp bulb (5), back-
up lamp bulb (6) (right side) and rear fog lamp bulb (6) (left
side).
Removal and InstallationBKS001R1
REMOVAL
1. Open trunk, and then remove trunk wheel house finisher. Refer to EI-58, "Removal and Installation for
Trunk Room Trim" .
2. Disconnect rear combination lamp connector.
3. Remove rear combination lamp mounting nuts (A).
4. Pull the rear combination lamp (1) toward rear of the vehicle and
remove clip (B) and locating pin (C) from the vehicle.
5. Remove seal packing (2) from rear combination lamp (1).
INSTALLATION
Installation is the reverse order of removal.
CAUTION:
Seal packing cannot be reused.Tail lamp : 12V - 5W
Rear turn signal lamp : 12V - 21W
Back-up lamp (Right side) : 12V - 21W
Rear fog lamp (Left side) : 12V - 21W
Stop lamp : LED
