PAUTO OPERATION
The sunroof or sunshade operates automatically to the fully-open or fully-closes position by operating the sun-
roof switch to the OPEN (2nd) or CLOSE (2nd) position.
RETAINED POWER OPERATION
Retained power operation is an additional power supply function that enables sunroof system to operate for 45
seconds after ignition switch is turned OFF.
RETAINED POWER FUNCTION CANCEL CONDITIONS
Front door CLOSE (door switch OFF)→OPEN (door switch ON)
Ignition switch is ON again.
Timer passed. (45 seconds)
ANTI-PINCH FUNCTION
CAUTION:
There are some small distances immediately before the closed position which cannot be detected.
The CPU of sunroof motor assembly monitors the sunroof condition using the signals from sunroof motor.
When sunroof motor assembly detects an interruption during auto operation (close or tilt down operation),
sunroof motor will tilt up or open [150 mm (5.91 in) or more] sunroof.
The CPU of sunshade motor assembly monitors the sunshade condition using the signals from sunshade
motor. When sunshade motor assembly detects an interruption during auto close operation, sunshade motor
will open [150 mm (5.91 in) or more] sunshade.
PUSH Tilts up
CLOSE: 1st Closes the sunroof
CLOSE: 2ndThe sunroof closes, and then

Component Function
BCM Supplies power to sunroof motor assembly and sunshade motor assembly.
Controls retained power function.
Combination meter Transmits vehicle speed signal to sunroof motor assembly and sunshade motor assembly.
Sunroof motor assemblyThe sunroof motor and CPU integrated type enable tilt up/down and slide open/close sunroof op-
eration by sunroof switch operation. And sends sunroof switch operation signal to sunshade mo-
tor assembly via communication line.
Sunshade motor assemblyThe sunshade motor and CPU integrated type enable open/close sunshade operation by sunroof
switch operation.
Sunroof switch Transmits switch operation signal to sunroof motor assembly.
Front door switch
(driver side/passenger side)Detects door open/close condition and transmits to BCM.

FREEZE FRAME DATA (FFD) AND IGN COUNTER
Freeze Frame Data
The BCM records the following condition at the moment a particular DTC is detected.
Vehicle Speed
Odo/Trip Meter
Vehicle Condition (BCM detected condition)
IGN Counter
IGN counter indicates the number of times that ignition switch is turned ON after DTC is detected.
The number is 0 when a malfunction is detected now.
The number increases like 1 → 2 → 3...38 → 39 after returning to the normal condition whenever ignition
switch OFF → ON.
The number is fixed to 39 until the self-diagnosis results are erased if it is over 39.
