Removal

spring s (se e sectio n 1 ).

1 . Mov e th e sea t bottom s an d back s a s fa r forwar d a s

2. Remov e th e rea r hatc h assembl y an d engin e cove r
(se e sectio n 20 ).
3 . Disconnec t th e batter y negativ e termina l first , the n
the positiv e terminal .
4. Remov e th e stru t brac e (NSX- T (ope n top)) .

5. Disconnect the fan motor connector, then remove
the engine room fan assembly (A/T).
7. Disconnect the spark plug voltage detection module
connectors, ground cable and engine wire harness
clamps.
8. Disconnect the fuel pump resistor connector.
9. Disconnect the injector resistor connector and
ground cable (A/T).
6. Remove the rear trim panels behind the passenger's
seat, then disconnect four connectors from the
engine control module (ECM) and three connectors

14. Remov e th e expansio n tan k cap .
15 . Rais e th e hois t t o ful l height .
16 . Drai n th e engin e coolan t (se e pag e 10-5 ).
• Loose n th e drai n plu g fro m th e radiato r lowe r
tank.
• Remov e tw o drai n bolt s fro m th e wate r pipes .
Reinstal l th e drai n bolt s wit h ne w washers .
• Loose n th e fron t an d rea r engin e drai n bolt s t o
drai n engin e coolan t fro m th e cylinde r heads .
Connec t rubbe r hose s t o th e drai n bolts .
17 . Drai n th e transmissio n fluid . Reinstal l th e drai n plu g
wit h a ne w washer .
18 . Drai n th e engin e oil . Reinstal l th e drai n plu g wit h a
ne w washer .
19 . Lowe r th e hoist , the n remov e th e ai r cleane r hous -
in g (se e pag e 6-26 ).
20 . Disconnec t tw o hoses , the n remov e th e expansio n
tank.
13. Remov e th e brak e booste r vacuu m hos e an d evapo -
rativ e emissio n (EVAP ) contro l caniste r hose .

21. Disconnect the engine wire harness connectors.
22. Remove the battery cable from the main fuse box.
24. Disconnect the two connectors from the emission
control box, then remove the control box.
• Do not disconnect the vacuum hoses.

23. Disconnect the throttle body 6P connector, and
remove the ground cable and starter cable.

assembly .

whee l senso r connector . Pus h th e wir e an d connec -

47. Remove the two bolts from the side engine mount
near the alternator. Pivot the mounting bracket into
the housing of the body.
49. Remove the twelve subframe-to-body mounting
bolts.
50. Raise the car a few inches.
51. Check that all wires and hoses are disconnected
from the engine assembly.
52. Raise the car completely off the engine/suspension
assembly. Roll the assembly from under the car.
