53. Remove governor valveassembly according tothe follow-
ing procedures.
a. Remove snapringusing ascrewdriver.
b. Remove governor capusing water pumppliers.
c. Remove a-ringfromgovernor cap.
d. Remove governor valveassembly.
e. With lowprimary weightclosed, placetopofgovernor valve
assembly downtomake suregovernor valveproperly low-
ers under itsown weight.
f. Place topofgovernor assembly down.Operate bothlowand
high secondary weightstomake suregovernor valvefunc-
tions properly.
54. Remove sideoilseal from transmission caseusing ascrew-
driver.

• Becareful nottodamage case.

9. Remove manualshaftoilseal.

• Apply ATFtoouter surface ofoil seal.

2. Install throttle leverandreturn spring onthrottle shaft.
3. Install throttle leverassembly ontransmission case.
4. Align groove ofthrottle shaftandhole oftransmission case.
5. Install throttle shaftretaining pin.
6. Move throttle leverinthe direction ofthe arrow.
7. Install manual shaftandmanual plate.
8. Align groove ofmanual shaftandhole oftransmission case.
9. Install manual shaftretaining pin.

• Install newseal rings ontooilpump cover.
• Measure clearance betweensealringandring groove.

Standard clearance:
0.10 -0.25 mm(0.0039 -0.0098 in)
Allowable limit:
0.25 mm(0.0098 in)

• Ifnot within wearlimit,replace oilpump coverassembly.

ASSEMBLY
1. Install oilseal onoil pump housing.
2. Install O-ring onoil pump housing.

• Apply ATFtoO-ring.

3. Install innerandouter gears onoil pump housing.

• Take carewiththedirection ofthe inner gear.

ing.

Standard clearance:
0.08 -0.15 mm(0.0031 -0.0059 in)
