DESCRIPTION
A pressure feed type (gerotor) oil pump is located
in the engine front cover. The pump uses a pick-up
tube and screen assembly to gather engine oil from
the oil pan (Fig. 51).

The engine oil level indicator is located at the right
front of the engine, left of the generator on 3.9L
engines (Fig. 53).

damaged threads. Repair as necessary.
Inspect oil pan mounting flange for bends or distor-
tion. Straighten flange, if necessary.
