5. Remove the four screws from the headlight switch.

6. Disconnect the 10-P connector from the turn signal cancel unit, then remove the headlight switch and
turn signal switch.
7. Separate the headlight switch from the turn signal switch.
8. If necessary, remove the turn signal cancel unit and cancel switch.

Side Marker/Turn Signal/Hazard Flash System
Turn Signal/Hazard Relay Input Test
1. Remove the dashboard lower cover. Remove the turn signal/hazard relay from the left kick panel, then dis-
connect the 6-P connector.
2. Inspect the connector terminals to be sure they are all making good contact.
If the terminals are bent, loose or corroded, repair
them as necessary, and recheck the system.
If the terminals look OK, make the following in-
put tests at the connector. If any test indicates a problem, find and cor-
rect the cause, then recheck the system. If all the input tests prove OK, the control unit
must be faulty; replace it.

Cancel Unit Input Test
1. Remove the steering column covers. Disconnect the 10-P connector from the turn signal cancel unit.
2. Inspect the connector terminals to be sure they are all making good contact.

Hazard Warning Switch Removal
CAUTION: All SRS wiring harnesses are covered with yellow out-
er insulation.
Before disconnecting any part of the SRS wire har-
ness, Install the short connectors (see page 24-10) Replace the entire affected SRS harness assembly if
it ha* an open circuit or damaged wiring.
1. Remove the dashboard lower cover and disconnect
the connectors from the floor wire harness.

Replacement
1. Remove the steering column covers.
2. Remove the screws from the hazard warning and wiper switches.

3. Remove the two screws from the back of switch. HAZARD WARNING

4. Slide the hazard warning switch out of the housing
as shown.
5. Remove the bulb from the hazard warning switch by
turning it 45°.
