WA R N I N G zWhen cleaning, be sure to remove thecharging cable plug and the normalcharge connector from the outlet. Do notconnect or disconnect the plug and theconnector with wet hand. Doing so couldcause an electric shock. zDo not expose the metal terminal of thenormal charge connect
or or the charging
cable plug to water or neutral detergent.Using in wet with water could cause a fireor an electric shock.CAUTION zNever use benzine, petr
ol, or other organic
solvents, or acid or alkaline solvents. Doingso could cause deform
ation, discolour, or
malfunction. Also, these substances may bepresent in various cleaners, so check care-fully before using.

WA R N I N G zFor safety, do not allow children or peoplewho are not familiar with charging tocharge for themselves. Also, do not use thenormal charge connector within reach ofchildren. zPersons who use electro-medical appara-tus such as implantable cardiac pace-maker or implantable cardioverter-defibrillator must check effect fromcharging with the manufacturer of elec-tro-medical apparatus. Electro-medicalapparatus operations could be affected bycharging. zIf you use any medica
l electric devices, be
careful the following precautions.•Keep away from the charge connector orcontrol box.•Do not stay inside of the vehicle.•Do not get on inside of the vehicle, forexample to remove or place an item inthe passenger compartment.•Do not open the rear hatch, for exampleto remove or place an item in the cargoarea.Charging may affect the operation of elec-tric medical devices and result in seriouspersonal inju
ry or death.
zDo not charge when the EV chargingcable is coiled up.Doing so the cable may be heated andresulting in a fire. zBefore charging, make sure that there isno foreign matter such as dust at the nor-mal charge port and the normal chargeconnector. At this time, do not touch the normalcharge port. zWhen foreign substances, such as dust, have entered, please contact a MITSUBI-SHI MOTORS Authorised Service Point. zWhen the normal charge connector is con-nected to the charge port, prevent foreignmatter such as water or dust from enter-ing in the connection.Connection with foreign matter such aswater or dust may cause a fire or an elec-tric shock. Do not perform charging ifthere is possibility of strong exposure towater at the connection. zWhen you deal with
charge apparatus, be
careful of the following points. It couldcause a fire, an electric shock and a shortcircuit.•Never pull the cable to remove the plug.•Never submerge the EV charging con-nector, control box, or plug in water.
zPlease observe the following in order toprevent accidents during charging such aselectrocution.WA R N I N G

The charging port courtesy lamp (A) illumi-nates when the charging lid is opened.
•Only use the EV charging cable that issupplied with the vehicle.•Do not charge another vehicle by the EVcharging cable. The cable may over heatand result in a fire.•When charging outd
oors, make sure to
use an outlet that is protected from waterentering.•Do not perform charging with the carcover.•Do not connect or disconnect the plugand connector with wet hands.•Do not charge the battery if there is arisk of lightning.
zWhen the EV charging cable or the plugare damaged or it cannot connect byentering a foreign substance, do not con-nect the EV charging cable by force. zWhile it is normal for the connector andcharging cable to become warm duringcharging, discontinue use immediately ifthe connector or charging cable becomeshot to the touch. zWhile it is normal for the control box tobecome warm during
charging, discon-
tinue use immediately if the control boxbecomes hot to the touch. zIf abnormal smells are detected or thevehicle produces smoke, quickly stopcharging.WA R N I N G
zDo not perform chargi
ng in a poorly ven-
tilated area or in an
enclosed area. Keep
sparks, cigarettes,
and flames away from
the auxiliary battery.Flammable gas generated from the auxil-iary battery during charging may betrapped, resulting in explosion. If charging is inevitably required, venti-late the area well. zGrasp the normal charge connector whenconnecting or disconn
ecting the EV charg-
ing cable.Grasping the cable may damage the cableand could cause an electric shock, shortcircuit, and/or fire.CAUTION zDuring charging, the cooling fans inside theengine room may automatically be operatedeven if the operation mode of the powerswitch in OFF.Keep your hands away from the cooling fanduring charging. zDo not perform charging from other powersource like a generator. Doing so could causea malfunction.WA R N I N G
NOTE
zIf the charge connector is not easily con-nected to the charge port due to foreign mat-ter entering, never force the connection.Doing so could damage the charging equip-ment or the vehicle. Please contact a MIT-SUBISHI MOTORS Authorised ServicePoint. zThe on board charger is only for rated AC240 V outlets. zWhen connecting or disconnecting the nor-mal charge connector, insert/pull out the con-nector straight. Also, do not incline or twist the connector.Doing so could caus
e a bad connection or
malfunction. zMake sure to lock the doors to prevent theft, etc. during charging.

Charging from rated AC 240 V outlet
WA R N I N G zIt could cause electric leak, a fire or elec-tric shock by entering water or dust intothe normal charge port. zDo not touch the metal terminal of thenormal charge port (D) and the normalcharge connector.Doing so could cause an electric shockand/or malfunction.NOTE
zThere is a hole on the charge port for waterdrainage. If this hole
is blocked and water
gets trapped in the charge port, do notcharge. Please contact a MITSUBISHIMOTORS Authorised Service Point. zIf the charge port is frozen, melt the ice usinga hair drier. Forcing the charge connector toconnect while frozen could result in mal-function.

5. Insert the charging cable plug into an out-let.
6. Remove the cap (E) on the normal chargeconnector (F) and make sure that there isno foreign matter such as dust at the endof the normal charge connector and thenormal charge port.
WA R N I N G zMake sure that the plug is inserted all theway into the outlet before use. If chargingis continued in the state where it is notfully inserted the plug, there is a possibil-ity of generating abnormal heat andresulting in a fire. zTo p r e v e n t a n e l e c t r i c s h o c k o r f i r e d u e t oelectric current leak, perform chargingusing a waterproofed outlet with earthingwhich is connected to an earth leakage cir-cuit breaker.
AC 240 V 15 Amp plug
zAlways use an earthed outlet protected bya residual current detector, rated foramperage equal to or greater than thevalue specified by MITSUBISHIMOTORS, and that is connected to a dedi-cated branch circuit. If the circuit isshared, and another el
ectrical device is
being used at the same time the vehicle ischarging, the circuit may heat abnormally, the breaker may trip and the circuit maycause adverse interference on the house-hold electrical appliances such as televi-sions and audio systems. zUse the rated AC 240 V rated outlet indi-vidually. If a multi plug adapter is con-nected and used with the EV chargingcable together with other devices, the out-let may overheat, resulting in a fire. zUse an outlet for EV charging whichwaterproofing processing is carried out ifthe installed position
is outdoors or may
get wet by rain etc.CAUTION zUse the outlet that is installed approx. 1meter above the ground. If the outlet positionis too low, the control box may touch theground, which may lead to troubles such assubmersion in water or getting trampled on.WA R N I N G
NOTE
zCheck it corresponds an outlet to your vehi-cle which is installed in the following places.•In your house etc.•In a parking lot or garage
