When the drive battery is charged,the auxiliary battery is also charged, andthe warning lamp/display will go out. Yo u r v e h i c l e r u n s a t a s p e e d t o w h i c h y o u s e t .It is possible to set the speed between approx-imately 40 and 180 km/h.The ACC makes control to maintain a follow-ing distance (time gap) matched with thevehicle speed between your vehicle and avehicle in front while also activating brakesas necessary.
If the vehicle in front stops, the ACC reacts toit by stopping your vehicle.Depress the brake pedal as soon as your vehi-cle comes to a stop.
•When your vehicle is on a chassisdynamometer or free rollers.•When the air pressure in the tyres is notcorrect.•When installing the spare tyre for emer-gency.•When tyre chains are attached.zBe sure to take the following precautions tokeep the system in proper operating condi-tions.Improper handling of the system componentsmay result in degraded sensor performance.•Avoid application of

Wi t h t h e A C C tu r ned on ( i n th e ‘ s t an dbystate’), push down the “SET -” switch whiledriving.When your desired speed is reached, releasethe “SET -” switch; then this speed is set andthe ACC initiates the speed control to the setspeed.
The set speed is indicated on the informationscreen of the multi-information display.The ACC can be selected between approxi-mately 40 km/h to 180 km/h.Yo u c a n s e t a n d i n i t i a t e t h e s p e e d c o n t r o lwhen driving at approximately 10-40 km/hwhile a vehicle in front is being detected. Inthis case, the target speed is set to 40 km/h.Setting to any speed outside this range doesnot cause the ACC to start the control.When the ACC is initialized, a buzzer soundis heard and the “SET” indicator lights up onthe screen. At the same time, the displayshowing the following distance setting andthe running-ahead vehicle symbol (only whenthe ACC is detecting a vehicle in front) isswitched to the in-control mode display.
NOTE
zEven if the ACC is in the activated statewhen the operation mode is set to “OFF”, thesystem does not automatically become acti-vated when the operation mode is set to“ON” next time.

zWhen the select position is other than“D”.zWhen the parking brake is engaged.zWhen the ACC is self-cancelled becausethe system determines that its perfor-mance has declined and it cannot operatetemporarily due to the following situa-tions, the driver is informed by a buzzerand an indication on the screen.•Under adverse weather conditions (rain,snow, sand storms, etc.)•When the sensor is dirty or blocked bysnow and ice.•When a preceding or oncoming vehiclesplashes water, snow, or sand in front ofthe sensor.•The brake pads are overheating.•When you are driving in light traffic withfew vehicles and obstacles in front.
When the ACC returns to normal opera-tion, the indicator is cancelled. If the indi-cator continues, there may be a fault in thesystem. Please contact a MITSUBISHIMOTORS Authorised Service Point.zWhen some problem occurs with the sys-tem. (In this situation, the ACC control isautomatically cancelled and the system isturned off. You are alerted to this situationby the sound of a buzzer and a message onthe display. If the message remains dis-played even after setting the operationmode to “ON”, please contact a MIT-SUBISHI MOTORS Authorised ServicePoint.)

The FCM uses a sensor (A) to determine thedistance to a vehicle in front in the same laneand its speed relative to your vehicle’s speed.If the system judges that your vehicle is indanger of colliding against the vehicle almoststraight from behind, it gives you visual andaudible alarms (Forward collision warningfunction), increases the brake fluid pressure(FCM brake prefill function), and also pro-vides braking force assistance when you
depress the brake pedal (FCM brake assistfunction) to avoid frontal collision.When the risk of collision increases more, thesystem causes the brakes to work moderatelyto encourage you to apply brakes. If the sys-tem judges that a potential collision is immi-nent, it initiates emergency braking tomitigate collision-caused damages or to avoidpossible collision (FCM braking function).Stop lamps are illuminated during automaticbraking.

This switch is used to turn on and off theFCM and also to select your desired collisionalarm timing.When the switch is held pressed, the ON/OFFstate of the FCM changes from ON to OFFand vice versa. If you give the switch a shortpress with the FCM in the ON state, you canchange the collision alarm timing.
Yo u c a n s w i t c h t h e s y s t e m f r o m O F F t o O Nor ON to OFF if you hold the FCM ON/OFFswitch pressed when the operation mode isset to “ON”.Once the system is turned on, a buzzersounds, the information screen of the multi-information display shows the collision alarmtiming currently selected, and the “FCMOFF” indicator on the screen goes out.When you turn off the system, a buzzer soundand, at the same time, the “FCM OFF” mes-sage appears on the screen and the “FCMOFF” indicator comes on.Cycling the operation mode to ON will setthe FCM back ON.

Depending on whether the vehicle isequipped with a towbar, you can change thereversing sensor system between the standardmode and the towbar mode. The towbar modechanges the system to exclude the area inwhich the towbar is mounted from the detec-tion areas.The detection areas are within approximately60 cm (A) from the corner sensors, 150 cm(B) from the back sensors, and 60 cm (C) orless from the ground surface, excluding thearea approximately 10 cm (D) from theground surface.
The detection areas are within approximately60 cm (A) from the corner sensors, 150 cm(B) from the back sensors, and 60 cm (C) orless from the ground surface, excluding thearea approximately 10 cm (D) from theground surface. The non-detection areas (E)are within approximately 20 cm (F) from thebumper.
