Adjust the head restraint height so that thecentre of the head restraint is as close as pos-sible to ear level to reduce the chances ofinjury in the event of collision. Any persontoo tall for the head restraint to reach their
zIf water or any other liquid is spilled on theseat, allow it to dry thoroughly beforeattempting to use the heater. Turn the heateroff immediately if it appears to be malfunc-tioning during use.

the seat is occupied.
zNever place a cushion or similar device onthe seatback. This
can adversely affect
head restraint performance by increasingthe distance between your head and therestraint. zWhen a person sits in the rear seats, pullup the head restraint to a height at whichit locks in position. Be sure to make thisadjustment before starting to drive. Seri-ous injuries could otherwise be suffered inthe result of an impact.

After adjust-ment, push the head restraint downward andmake sure that it is locked.Lift the head restraint with the height adjust-ing knob (A) pushed in.
Confirm that the head restraint is facing thecorrect direction, and then insert it into theseatback while pressing the height adjustingknob (A) in the direction indicated by thearrow.The head restraint stalk with the adjustmentnotches (B) must be installed in the hole withthe adjusting knob (A).

CAUTION zConfirm that the height adjusting knob (A) iscorrectly adjusted as shown in the illustra-tion, and also lift the head restraints toensure that they do not come out of the seat-back.
CAUTION zThe shape and size of the head restraint dif-fers according to the seat. Always use thecorrect head restraint provided for the seatand do not install the head restraint in thewrong direction.
