Les positions de la clé de contact sont les sui-
vantes:
ON (marche):
Placer la clé sur cette position pour mettre le
moteur en marche. Le phare et le feu arrière
s’allument quand le contacteur d’éclairage est
activé.
OFF (arrêt):
Tous les circuits électriques sont coupés. La clé
peut être retirée.

Las funciones correspondientes a cada una de
las posiciones del interruptor son las siguientes:
ON:
El motor sólo se puede poner en marcha con el
interruptor en esta posición; si está conectado el
interruptor de cambio de luces se encienden el
faro y las luces traseras.
OFF:
Se desconectan todos los circuitos eléctricos. En
esta posición puede extraerse la llave de contac-
to.

Make sure that the engine stop switch is in the
“RUN” position. The engine stop switch controls
ignition and can be used at all times to stop the
engine, especially in an emergency. The engine
will not start or run when the engine stop switch
is turned to “OFF”.EBU00736Light switch “LIGHTS”
Turn the switch to the “LO” position to switch on
the low beam and the taillight.
Turn the switch to the “HI” position to switch on
the high beam and the taillight.
Turn the switch to the “OFF” position to switch off
the headlight and the taillight.NOTE:
The headlight and the taillight can be turned on
only when the engine is started.

S’assurer que le coupe-circuit du moteur est
placé sur “RUN”. Le coupe-circuit du moteur
contrôle l’allumage et peut à tout moment servir
à couper le moteur. Il est particulièrement utile
en cas d’urgence. Le moteur ne se met pas en
marche ou ne tourne pas quand son coupe-circuit

Tourner le contacteur à la position “LO” pour
allumer le feu de croisement et le feu arrière.
Tourner le contacteur à la position “HI” pour
allumer le feu de route et le feu arrière.
Placer le contacteur sur “OFF” pour éteindre le
phare et le feu arrière.N.B.:
Le phare et le feu arrière ne s’allument que
lorsque le moteur tourne.

Once the engine is running, movement of the
throttle lever will increase the engine speed.
Regulate the speed of the machine by varying
the throttle position. Because the throttle is
spring-loaded, the machine will decelerate, and
the engine will return to an idle any time the hand
is removed from the throttle lever.
Before starting the engine, check the throttle to
be sure it is operating smoothly. Make sure it
returns to the idle position as soon as the lever is
released.wMalfunction of the throttle could make it diffi-
cult to speed up or slow down when you
need to. This could cause an accident. Check
the operation of the throttle lever before you
start the engine. If the throttle does not work
smoothly, check for the cause. Correct the
problem before riding the ATV or consult a
Yamaha dealer.

Dès que le moteur tourne, son régime augmente
quand le levier d’accélération est actionné.
Régler la vitesse du véhicule en faisant varier
l’ouverture des gaz. Comme le levier d’accéléra-
tion est muni d’un ressort de rappel, le véhicule
ralentit et le moteur revient au régime de ralenti
dès que le levier est relâché.
Avant de mettre le moteur en marche, vérifier le
bon fonctionnement des gaz. S’assurer que le
véhicule retourne au régime de ralenti dès que le
levier est relâché.XGUn mauvais fonctionnement du levier d’accé-
lération risque d’entraver l’accélération ou la
décélération. Ceci peut provoquer un acci-
dent. Vérifier le bon fonctionnement du levier
d’accélération avant de mettre le moteur en
marche. Si l’accélérateur ne fonctionne pas
correctement, en rechercher la cause. Corri-
ger le problème avant de conduire le véhicule
ou consulter un concessionnaire Yamaha.

Una vez que el motor gira con, desplazando la
palanca de aceleración se aumenta la velocidad
de giro.
Para regular la velocidad del vehículo, varíe la
posición del acelerador. Este lleva un muelle de
retorno que hace que disminuya la velocidad y el
motor vuelva al ralentí cuando se retira la mano
de la palanca de aceleración.
Antes de poner en marcha el motor, compruebe
que el acelerador funcione con suavidad. Asegú-
rese de que vuelve a la posición de ralentí cuan-
do se suelta la palanca.XRSi el acelerador no funciona correctamente,
puede ser difícil aumentar o reducir la velocidad
del vehículo cuando se desee. Eso puede aca-
rrear accidentes. Compruebe el funcionamiento
del acelerador antes de poner en marcha el
motor. Si el acelerador no funciona con suavi-
dad, averigüe la causa. Resuelva el problema
antes de utilizar la máquina, o consulte a un
concesionario Yamaha.

EBU00065Throttle OverRide System
If during operation, the carburetor or the throttle
cable should malfunction and will not close fully,
take your thumb off the throttle lever.
The throttle override system immediately cuts off
the ignition.wRiding with a malfunction increases the
chance for an accident and injury. Make sure
that the cause of the malfunction is corrected
before restarting the engine or have the ATV
inspected by a Yamaha dealer.

Si un problème se produit au niveau du carbura-
teur ou du câble de commande des gaz, retirer le
pouce du levier d’accélération.
Le système d’annulation des gaz coupe immé-
diatement l’allumage.XGRouler sans avoir réparé le véhicule augmente
les risques d’accident et de blessure. S’assurer
de corriger le problème avant de mettre le
moteur en marche ou faire contrôler le VTT
par un concessionnaire Yamaha.

Si con el vehículo en marcha, se produce algún
fallo del carburador o del cable de aceleración y
éste no cierra por completo, retirar el pulgar de
la palanca de aceleración.
El sistema de anulación del acelerador cortará
inmediatamente el encendido.XRUtilizar el vehículo cuando no funciona
correctamente entraña riesgo de accidentes
y lesiones. Asegurarse de haber subsanado
la causa de los fallos antes de poner el motor
en marcha o hacer que un concesionario
Yamaha inspeccione la máquina.

EBU00565Speed limiter
The speed limiter keeps the throttle from fully
opening, even when the throttle lever is pushed
to the maximum. Screwing in the adjuster limits
the maximum engine power available and
decreases the maximum speed of the ATV.wImproper adjustment of the speed limiter and
throttle could cause throttle cable damage or
improper throttle operation. You could lose
control, have an accident or be injured. Do
not turn the speed adjuster out more than 12
mm or the throttle cable could be damaged.
Always make sure the throttle lever free play
is adjusted to 4~6 mm. See page 8-71.
