STARTEN UND EINFAHREN
ACHTUNG:
Vor dem Anfahren der Maschine, unbedingt
die unter “Prüfungen vor Inbetriebnahme”
aufgeführten Kontrollen ausführen.
WARNUNG
Niemals den Motor in einem geschlosse-
nen Raum starten oder betreiben. Die
Abgase sind giftig und können in kürzester
Zeit zu Bewußtlosigkeit bzw. zum Tode füh-
ren.
STARTEN DES KALTEN MOTORS
1. Das Getriebe auf Neutral schalten.
2. Den Kraftstofhahn öffnen (Position “ON”)
und den Chokezung (CHOKE) voll öff-
nen.
3. Den Gasdrehgriff vollständig zudrehen
und den Kickstarter kräftig durchtreten,
um den Motor zu starten.
4. Den Motor bei Leerlaufter Drehzahl)
warmlaufen lassen; für das Warmlaufen
werden normalerweise etwa eine bis
zwei Minuten benötigt.
5. Der Motor ist warmgelaufen, wenn er bei
ausgeschaltetem Chokezung (CHOKE)
normal auf das Gasgeben anspricht.
ACHTUNG:
Den Motor nicht für längere Zeit warmlau-
fen lassen.
STARTEN DES WARMEN MOTORS
Den Kaltstarter (CHOKE) nicht bedienen. Den
Gasdrehgriff etwas öffnen und den Kickstarter
kräftig durchtreten, um den Motor zu starten.
ACHTUNG:
Während des anfänglichen Betriebes sind
die folgenden Einfahrvorgänge einzuhal-
ten, um optimales Leistungsvermögen
sicherzustellen und Motorschäden zu ver-
meiden.
Der Motor darf während der Einfahrzeit
nicht zu stark beansprucht werden. Darum
sollten die nachfolgenden Anweisungen
sorgfältig gelesen und genau beachtet wer-
den.

ATTENTION:
Avant de mettre le moteur en marche, effectuer
les contrôles repris dans la liste “Contrôles et
entretiens avant utilisation”.
AVERTISSEMENT
Ne jamais démarrer ou faire tourner le moteur
dans un endroit clos. Les fumées d’échappement
sont délétères et peuvent entraîner très rapide-
ment un évanouissement, voire la mort. Tou-
jours veiller à ce que l’endroit où l’on fait
tourner le moteur soit bien aéré.
MISE EN MARCHE À FROID
1. Mettre la boîte au point mort.
2. Placer le robinet de carburant sur “ON” et
ouvrir tout à fait le bouton de starter.
3. Les gaz étant complètement fermés, mettre le
moteur en marche en appuyant fermement
d’un coup sec sur la pédale du kick.
4. Faire tourner le moteur au ralenti ou à un
régime légèrement plus élevé jusqu’à ce que
le moteur soit chaud, c.-à-d. pendant environ
une à deux minutes.
5. Le moteur est chaud lorsqu’il il répond rapi-
dement aux mouvements de la poignée des
gaz.
ATTENTION:
Ne pas faire chauffer le moteur plus longtemps
que nécessaire.
MISE EN MARCHE À CHAUD
Ne pas utiliser le bouton de starter. Donner un peu
de gaz, puis mettre le moteur en marche d’un coup
ferme et puissant de kick.
ATTENTION:
Afin d’éviter d’endommager le moteur et afin
d’assurer le meilleur rendement possible, il con-
vient de roder le véhicule comme expliqué.

STARTING AND BREAK-IN
BREAK-IN
Break-in is important to better fit the moving
and sliding parts as well as the installed parts.
It is also important to accustom the rider to the
machine better.
Avoid full-throttle run on a new machine for the
first 5 hours.
After the trial run, check for loose parts, oil
leakage and other problems.
Make full inspection and adjustment especially
of slack cables and drive chain and loose
spokes.
CAUTION:
After the break-in or before each ride, you
must check the entire machine for loose fit-
tings and fasteners as per “TORQUE-
CHECK POINTS”.
Tighten all such fasteners as required.
BREAKING IN AFTER REPLACEMENT
After a part is replaced with a new one, it is
necessary to break it in as in a new machine.
This is required especially when the following
engine-related parts are replaced.

* For warming up and inspection during
break-in, refer to “GENERAL INSPECTION
AND MAINTENANCE” and if there is any
problem, stop the engine immediately and
check.

Das Einfahren des Fahrzeugs ist sehr wichtig,
damit sich alle sich bewegenden Teile besser
einlaufen können. Außerdem kann sich der
Fahrer besser mit der Maschine vertraut
machen.
Während der ersten 5 Fahrstunden mit einer
neuen Maschine darf kein Vollgas gegeben
werden.
Nach der Probefahrt Maschine auf lose Teile,
Undichtigkeit und andere eventuell auftretende
Probleme prüfen.
Alle Prüf- und Einstellarbeiten durchführen,
und dabei insbesondere Kabelzüge, Antriebs-
ketten-Durchhang und Speichenspannung
prüfen.
ACHTUNG:
Nach der Einfahrzeit oder vor jedem Ren-
nen alle Fahrzeugteile und Schraubverbin-
dungen auf festen Sitz prüfen und
gegebenenfalls mit dem vorgeschriebenen
Anzugsmoment festziehen.
EINFAHREN NACH DEM AUSTAUSCHEN
VON TEILEN
Wenn Fahrzeugteile durch Neuteile ersetzt
worden sind, dann ist es notwendig, daß die
neuen Teile wie bei einer neuen Maschine ein-
gefahren werden. Dies ist insbesondere dann
erforderlich, wenn folgende Motorteile ersetzt
werden:

lNockenwelle
lKurbelwelle
lKupplung
lGetriebe-Zahnräder
lSchaltgabeln
* Vorschriften über das Warmfahren und
Inspizieren der Maschine während der Ein-
fahrzeit sind im Kapitel “ALLGEMEINE
PRÜF- UND WARTUNGSARBEITEN” auf-
geführt. Tritt ein Problem auf, ist der Motor
sofort abzustellen und die Ursache heraus-
zufinden.

RODAGE
Un rodage est important, car les organes mobiles et
immobiles du moteur doivent s’user et se roder
mutuellement pour obtenir les jeux de marche cor-
rects. Un rodage permet également au pilote de
s’ahbituer à son véhicule.
Éviter de rouler à pleins gaz pendant les premières
5 heures d’utilisation du véhicule.
Après le premier essai, contrôler le serrage des piè-
ces, s’assurer qu’il n’y a pas de fuites ou tout autre
problème.
Il convient d’effectuer une inspection et un réglage
complets du véhicule, et tout particulièrement de la
tension des câbles et de la chaîne ainsi que du ser-
rage des rayons.
ATTENTION:
Après le rodage et avant chaque démarrage, il
faut vérifier toute la visserie du véhicule et
s’assurer que tous les éléments sont serrés au
couple spécifié.
Resserrer au couple tout élément desserré.
RODAGE APRÈS REMPLACEMENT
Il est tout aussi nécessaire de procéder au rodage
d’une nouvelle pièce qu’au rodage du véhicule.
Cela est particulièrement vrai lors du remplacement
des pièces du moteur suivantes.

Frequent cleaning of your machine will
enhance its appearance, maintain good over-
all performance, and extend the life of many
components.
1. Before washing the machine, block off
the end of the exhaust pipe to prevent
water from entering. A plastic bag
secured with a rubber band may be used
for this purpose.
2. If the engine is excessively greasy, apply
some degreaser to it with a paint brush.
Do not apply degreaser to the chain,
sprockets, or wheel axles.
3. Rinse the dirt and degreaser off with a
garden hose; use only enough pressure
to do the job.
CAUTION:
Excessive hose pressure may cause water
seepage and contamination of wheel bear-
ings, front forks, brakes and transmission
seals. Many expensive repair bills have
resulted from improper high pressure
detergent applications such as those avail-
able in coin-operated car washers.
4. After the majority of the dirt has been
hosed off, wash all surfaces with warm
water and a mild detergent. Use an old
toothbrush to clean hard-to-reach places.
5. Rinse the machine off immediately with
clean water, and dry all surfaces with a
soft towel or cloth.
6. Immediately after washing, remove
excess water from the chain with a paper
towel and lubricate the chain to prevent
rust.
7. Clean the seat with a vinyl upholstery
cleaner to keep the cover pliable and
glossy.
8. Automotive wax may be applied to all
painted or chromed surfaces. Avoid com-
bination cleaner-waxes, as they may con-
tain abrasives.
9. After completing the above, start the
engine and allow it to idle for several min-
utes.
