What to do if... (Troubleshooting)
If you have a problem, check the following before contacting your
Toyota dealer.
The doors cannot be locked, unlocked, opened or closed
You have lost your keys
⚫If you have lost keys or emergency keys✽, new genuine keys or an emer-
gency key
✽ can be made at your Toyota dealer. ( ➞P. 119)
⚫If you lose your keys or electronic keys✽, the risk of theft is extremely
high, so contact your Toyota dealer immediately. ( ➞P. 120)
The doors cannot be locked and unlocked
⚫Is the key battery weak or depleted? ( ➞P. 344)
⚫Vehicles with key-free system
Isn’t the engine switch “ON”?
When locking the doors, turn th e engine switch to “OFF”. (➞P. 185)

The shift lever cannot be moved from P even if you depress
the brake pedal (continuously variable transmission vehicles)
⚫Is the engine switch “ON”?
If you cannot release the shift lever while depressing the brake pedal
with the engine switch “ON”, refer to ➞P. 191.
The steering wheel cannot be turned after the engine is
stopped
⚫Vehicles without key-free system
To prevent theft, it will be locked when the key is removed from the
engine switch. (➞ P. 181)
⚫Vehicles with key-free system
It is automatically locked to prevent theft of the vehicle. ( ➞P. 187)
The windows do not open or close by operating the power
window switches
⚫Isn’t the window lock switch pressed?
If the window lock switch is pressed, the power windows except for the
one at the driver’s seat cannot be operated. ( ➞P. 160)
The engine switch is turned off automatically
(vehicles with key-free system)
⚫The auto power OFF function will be operated if the vehicle is left “ACC”
or “ON” (the engine is not r unning) for a period of time. ( ➞P. 186)
