1-CONTROL FUNCTIONS

Main switch
Functions of the respective switch positions are as
follows:
ON:
All electrical circuits are supplied with power, and
the headlights and taillights come on when the
light switch is on.
OFF:
All electrical circuits are switched off. The key can
be removed in this position.
START:
The electric starter is engaged by turning and
holding the key in this position. Release the key
when the engine starts.

Contacteur à clé
Les positions du contacteur sont les suivantes :
ON (marche) :
Tous les circuits électriques sont alimentés et les phares
et feux arrière s’allument lorsque le contacteur d’éclaira-
ge est allumé.
OFF (arrêt) :
Tous les circuits électriques sont coupés. La clé peut être
retirée.
START (mise en marche) :
Le démarreur électrique se met en marche lorsque la clé
est tournée et maintenue à cette position. Relâcher la clé
dès que le moteur est en marche.

Interruptor principal
Las funciones de las respectivas posiciones del inte-
rruptor son las siguientes:
ON (contacto):
Todos los circuitos eléctricos reciben corriente; los
faros y los pilotos traseros se encienden cuando se
activa el interruptor de las luces.
OFF (desconectado):
Todos los circuitos eléctricos están desactivados. En
esta posición se puede extraer la llave.
START (arranque):
Girando la llave a esta posición y manteniéndola en
ella se acciona el arranque eléctrico. Suelte la llave
cuando el motor haya arrancado.

CAUTION:_

Do not operate the electric starter continu-
ously for more than 5 seconds, or starter
damage could occur. Wait at least 5 sec-
onds between each operation of the elec-
tric starter to let it cool.


Do not turn the key to the “START” posi-
tion with the engine running, or damage to
the electric starter can result.


See starting instructions prior to starting
the engine. (See pages 6-3–6-7 for details.)

ATTENTION:_

Ne pas actionner le démarreur électrique pen-
dant plus de 5 secondes d’affilée, sous peine de
risquer de l’endommager. Attendre au moins
5 secondes entre chaque tentative de mise en
marche afin de laisser refroidir le démarreur.


Ne pas tourner la clé de contact à la position
“START” lorsque le moteur est en marche, sous
peine de risquer d’endommager le démarreur
électrique.


Voir les instructions de mise en marche du mo-
teur avant sa mise en marche. (Voir pages 6-4 à
6-8 pour plus de détails.)

AT E N C I O N :_

No mantenga accionado el arranque eléctri-
co durante más de 5 segundos seguidos,
ya que puede averiarse. Espere un mínimo
de 5 segundos entre cada accionamiento
del arranque eléctrico para que este se en-
fríe.


No gire la llave a la posición “START” cuan-
do el motor esté en marcha, ya que el arran-
que eléctrico se puede averiar.


Antes de poner en marcha el motor consul-
te las instrucciones de arranque. (Para más

On-Command four-wheel-drive/differential
gear lock indicator “”/“”
The On-Command four-wheel-drive indicator “”
comes on when the On-Command four-wheel-
drive switch is set to the “4WD” position.
The On-Command differential gear lock indicator
“” in the On-Command four-wheel-drive indica-
tor also comes on when the On-Command differ-
ential gear lock switch is set to the “LOCK”
position.NOTE:

Due to the synchronizing mechanism in the dif-
ferential gear case, the four-wheel-drive indica-
tor may not come on until the vehicle starts
moving.


When the On-Command differential gear lock
switch is set to “LOCK”, the indicator “” will
flash until the differential gear is locked.
