LIGHTING SYSTEM Headlight relay 1. Disconnect the relay. 2. Apply battery positive voltage and check for continuity between terminals of the relay. If the fuse is burned, replace it. Check and repair the wire harness, if necessary. 3. Remove and install as shown in the figure. Step 1 1. Check the stoplight bulb of the faulty side. 2. If a bulb is burned, replace it. 3. If the bulb is OK, go to Step 2. T LIGHTING SYSTEM Stoplight Switch Adjustment 1. Adjust the brake pedal height. (Refer to section P.) 2. Disconnect the stoplight switch connector. 4 3. Loosen the stoplight switch locknut. 4. Turn the stoplight switch until it contacts the pedal arm. Turn an additional 112 turn. 5. Tighten the locknut. Locknut tightening torque: 14-18 N.m (1.4-1.8 kgf-m, 120-156 in-lbf) I I I Brake pedal depress I 0 0 1 I Inspection Stoplight switch 1. Disconnect the stoplight switch connector. 2. T LIGHTING SYSTEM Troubleshooting 1 Symptom: Turn and hazard warning function do not operate. I Step 1 Check HAZARD 15A fuse and METER 15A fuse in the fuse block. Step 2 Measure voltage at terminal H (B/R) of the flasher unit connector. Fuse Burnt OK Action Replace fuse after checking and repairing wiring harness Go to Step 2 Step 3 1. Disconnect the flasher unit connector. 2. Check for continuity between terminal A (B) of the flasher unit connector and ground. B+: Battery positive voltage -1 Voltage B+ Other Continuity Step 4 1. Turn the ignition switch ON. 2. Set the turn signal switch ON (right or left) and measure voltage at terminal C (G/Y) and terminal B (G/R) of the combination switch connector (&pin connector). Set the turn signal switch to the right position and mea- sure voltage at terminal F (GN) of the flasher unit con- nector. Remove the hazard warning switch. 2. Check for continuity between terminal H(B) of the hazard warning switch connector and ground. 2. If correct, reconnect connector and go to Step 8. 3.
