xExposure to direct sunlight for long
periods may cause deterioration and
shrinkage. When parking the car
under direct sunlight for long
periods, shade the interior using
sunshades.
xDo not leave vinyl products on the
leather upholstery for long periods.
They may affect the leather quality
and colouring. If the cabin
temperature becomes hot, the vinyl
may deteriorate and adhere to the
genuine leather.
▼Plastic Part Maintenance
CAUTION
Do not use polishing agents.
Depending on the product ingredients,
they could cause discolouration, stains,
cracks or peeling of the coating.
▼Instrument Panel Top (Soft pad)
Maintenance
Extremely soft material is used for the
soft pad surface. If the soft pad surface
is rubbed harshly with a dry cloth, it
could result in the surface being
damaged and leaving white scratch
marks.
1. Wipe the soiled area with a soft
cloth soaked in a mild detergent
(approx. 5%) diluted with water.
2. Wipe off the remaining detergent
using a cloth soaked in clean water
and wrung out well.
▼Active Driving Display
Maintenance*
The dust-proof sheet has a coating.
When cleaning , do not use a hard or
rough-surface cloth, or cleaning
detergent. In addition, if a chemical
solvent gets on the active driving
display, wipe it off immediately. The
dust-proof sheet could be damaged
and the surface coating could be
scratched. Use a fine, soft cloth such as
those used for cleaning eyeglasses.
NOTE
Use of compressed air when cleaning
the dust-proof sheet is recommended.
▼Panel Maintenance
If a panel becomes soiled, wipe it off
with a soft cloth soaked in clean water
and thoroughly wrung out.
If some areas require further cleaning ,
use the following procedure:
1. Wipe the soiled area with a soft
cloth soaked in a mild detergent
(approx. 5 %) diluted with water.
2. Wipe off the remaining detergent
using a cloth soaked in clean water
and wrung out well.
NOTE
Be particularly careful when cleaning
shiny surface panels and metallic parts
such as plating as they can be
scratched easily.
▼Cleaning the Window Interiors
If the windows become covered with
an oily, greasy, or waxy
film, clean
them with glass cleaner. Follow the
directions on the container.
CAUTION
¾Do not scrape or scratch the inside
of the window glass. It could
damage the thermal filaments and
the aerial lines.
¾When washing the inside of the
window glass, use a soft cloth
dampened in lukewarm water, gently
wiping the thermal filaments and the
aerial lines.

Emergency Call System*
▼Emergency Call System
When an emergency situation such as an accident or sudden illness occurs, the
Emergency call system dials the call centre automatically or the user can make a call
to the call centre manually to enable a voice call.
The system operates automatically when the vehicle receives an impact of a certain
level or more in a collision, or it can be operated manually using the Emergency call
switch if an emergency situation arises such as sudden illness.
The call centre operator confirms the status via the voice call, confirms the vehicle's
position information using the GNSS
*1, and calls the police or emergency services.*1 GNSS, short for “Global Navigation Satellite System”, is a system that obtains the
vehicle's current location by receiving radio waves emitted from the GNSS
satellites to the ground.

DESCRIPTION OF THE Emergency call system IN-VEHICLE SYSTEM
xThe 112-based Emergency call system service is a public service of general interest
and is accessible free of charge.

xThe 112-based Emergency call system in-vehicle system is activated by default. It is
activated automatically by means of in-vehicle sensors in the event of a severe
accident.
xThe 112-based Emergency call system in-vehicle system can also be triggered
manually.
xIn the event of a critical system failure that would disable the 112-based
Emergency call system in-vehicle system, the following warning will be given to the
occupants of the vehicle:
xIf a problem occurs with the Emergency call system, the indicator light on the
Emergency call switch turns on in red and a beep sound is activated 3 times.
Thereafter, if the indicator light remains turned on in red, the system will not
operate normally in an emergency. Have the vehicle inspected at an Authorised
Mazda Repairer as soon as possible.
INFORMATION ON DATA PROCESSING
xAny processing of personal data through the 112-based Emergency call system
in-vehicle system shall comply with the personal data protection rules provided for
in Directives 95/46/EC(1) and 2002/58/EC(2) of the European Parliament and
of the Council, and in particular, shall be based on the necessity to protect the
vital interests of the individuals in accordance with Article 7(d) of Directive
95/46/EC(3).
xProcessing of such data is strictly limited to the purpose of handling the Emergency
call system to the single European emergency number 112.
Types of data and its recipients
xThe 112-based Emergency call system in-vehicle system may collect and process
only the following data:
xVehicle

system are the relevant public safety answering points designated by the respective
public authorities of the country on which territory they are located, to
first receive
and handle emergency calls (Emergency call system) to the single European
emergency number 112.
Arrangements for data processing
xThe 112-based Emergency call system in-vehicle system is designed in such a way
as to ensure that the data contained in the system memory is not available outside
the system before an Emergency call system is triggered.
xThe 112-based Emergency call system in-vehicle system is designed in such a way
as to ensure that it is not traceable and not subject to any constant tracking in its
normal operation status.

xThe 112-based Emergency call system in-vehicle system is designed in such a way
as to ensure that data in the system internal memory is automatically and
continuously removed.
xThe vehicle location data is constantly overwritten in the internal memory of the
system so as always to keep maximum of the last three up-to-date locations of the
vehicle necessary for the normal functioning of the system.
xThe log of activity data in the 112-based Emergency call system in-vehicle system
is kept for no longer than necessary for attaining the purpose of handling the
Emergency call system and in any case not beyond 13 hours from the moment an
Emergency call system was initiated.
Modalities for exercising data subject's rights
xThe data subject (the vehicle's owner) has a right of access to data and as
appropriate to request the rectification, erasure or blocking of data, concerning
him or her, the processing of which does not comply with the provisions of
Directive 95/46/EC. Any third parties to whom the data have been disclosed
have to be notified of such rectification, erasure or blocking carried out in
compliance with this Directive, unless it proves impossible or involves a
disproportionate effort.
xThe data subject has a right to complain to the competent data protection
authority if he or she considers that his or her rights have been infringed as a result
of the processing of his or her personal data.

CAUTION
¾Do not disassemble the Emergency call system. Otherwise, it could become
damaged and may not function in an emergency.
¾The Emergency call system has a special built-in battery so that it can operate even
if the power supply from the vehicle is cut such as in an accident.
Heed the following cautions. If the Emergency call system is not used correctly it
may not operate.
¾The built-in battery is not a rechargeable type battery. Do not attempt to
recharge the battery.
¾The built-in battery life is 3 years. Have the built-in battery replaced at an expert
repairer (we recommend an Authorised Mazda Repairer) periodically.
¾If the built-in battery power is low due to natural discharge and the system
determines that there is a problem, the Emergency call system cannot be used. If
the system determines that there is a problem, the indicator light (red) in the
Emergency call switch turns on to notify the driver. Have the vehicle inspected at
an expert repairer (we recommend an Authorised Mazda Repairer). Refer to
Indicator light/Beep sound on page 7-10.
NOTE
xThe Emergency call system can be used when the ignition is switched ON.xThere are two ways the Emergency call system makes calls; automatically or
manually.
xThe Emergency call system may not make a connection under the following
conditions or depending on the use environment. If the Emergency call system
does not connect, make a call from another telephone such as the nearest
available public telephone.
xThe vehicle is outside of a mobile phone network areaxThe vehicle is in a weak radio wave transmission environment (such as inside
tunnels, underground parking areas, shadow of buildings, and mountain areas)
xThe vehicle does not receive an impact of a certain level or more even if an
accident has occurred.
xAn extremely serious collision occurs resulting in damage to the Emergency call
system.
xThe position information cannot be obtained when signals cannot be received
from the GNSS satellites, however, voice calls are possible.
xWhen a voice call is made by the Emergency call system, the audio system is
muted so that it does not interfere with the call.
xIt may take some time for the call centre to respond after the Emergency call
system
first starts operating.
xIf you are unable to respond to an operator's questions after the voice call begins,
the operator may proceed with emergency procedures at their own discretion.
xEven if it is
difficult for you to hear the operator's voice, your voice may be heard
by the call centre. Continue explaining your circumstances.
