. Do not ride inamoving vehicle
when theseatback isreclined. This
can bedangerous. Theshoulder belt
will notbeagainst yourbody. Inan
accident, youcould bethrown intoit
and receive neckorother serious
injuries. You could alsoslide under
the lapbelt andreceive serious
internal injuries.
. For themost effective protection
when thevehicle isin motion, the
seat should beupright. Alwayssit well
back inthe seat withboth feet
on the floor andadjust theseat
properly. SeeªPrecautions onseat
belt usageº (P.1-10) .
. After adjustment, gentlyrockinthe
seat tomake sureitis securely
locked.
. Do not leave children unattended
inside thevehicle. Theycould un-
knowingly activateswitches orcon-
trols. Unattended childrencould
become involved inserious acci-
dents. .
The seatback shouldnotbereclined
any more thanneeded forcomfort.
Seat belts aremost effective when
the passenger sitswell back and
straight upinthe seat. Ifthe seat-
back isreclined, therisk ofsliding
under thelapbelt andbeing injured
is increased.
CAUTION
When adjusting theseat positions, be
sure nottocontact anymoving partsto
avoid possible injuriesand/ordamage.

lean back. To bring theseatback forward,pull
the lever upand lean your body forward. Release
the lever tolock theseatback inposition.
The reclining featureallowsadjustment ofthe
seatback foroccupants ofdifferent sizesfor

allow occupants torest when thevehicle is

NO TE:
. Depending onthe passenger's seat
sliding position whenthepassenger
seat isunoccupied whiledriving, a
noise maybeheard asthe side part
of the passenger's seatcontacts the
seat belttongue. Inthis case, move the
seat tothe rearmost positiontoavoid
interference.
. Ifyou arehaving difficulty turningthe
adjusting dial,park thevehicle and
then open thedoor orget out ofthe
vehicle tooperate the
dial.
