1. Leave theignition switchinthe ON position
for approximately 5seconds.
2. Place theignition switchinthe OFF or
L OCK position andwait approximately 10
seconds.
3. Repeat step1and 2again.
4. Restart theengine whileholding thedevice
(which mayhave caused theinterference)
separate fromtheregistered key.
If this procedure allowstheengine tostart,
NISSAN recommends placingtheregis-
tered keyonaseparate keyring toavoid
interference fromother devices.

The security indicator lightislocated onthe
meter panel. Itindicates thestatus ofthe
NISSAN Vehicle Immobilizer System.
The light blinks whenever theignition switchisin
the LOCK, OFForACC position. Thisfunction
indicates thesecurity systems equipped onthe
vehicle areoperational.
If the NISSAN Vehicle Immobilizer Systemis
malfunctioning, thislight willremain onwhile the
ignition switchisin the ON position.
If the light stillremains onand/or the
engine willnotstart, seeaNISSAN dealer
for NISSAN Vehicle Immobilizer System

CAUTION
. Do not operate thewasher continu-

. Do not operate thewasher ifthe
reservoir tankisempty.
. Do not fillthe window washer
reservoir tankwithwasher fluid
concentrates atfull strength. Some
methyl alcohol basedwasher fluid
concentrates maypermanently stain
the grille ifspilled whilefilling the
window washerreservoir tank.
. Pre-mix washerfluidconcentrates
with water tothe manufacturer's
recommended levelsbefore pouring
the fluid intothewindow washer reservoir
tank.Donot use the
window washerreservoir tankto
mix thewasher fluidconcentrate
and water.
If the windshield wiperoperation isinter-
rupted bysnow orice, thewiper maystop
moving toprotect itsmotor. Ifthis occurs,
turn thewiper switch tothe OFF position
and remove thesnow orice that ison and
around thewiper arms.Inapproximately 1
minute, turntheswitch onagain tooperate
the wiper.

T o move thewiper blades tothe service position,
follow thisprocedure:

position orwithin 60seconds ofplacing the
ignition switchtothe ªOFFº position, liftthe
lever up

the service position automatically ,and the
wiper blades cannow bereplaced. To
replace thewiper blades, seeªWindshield

CAUTION
. This function canbeoperated even
if the ignition switchisin the ªONº
position. However, toprevent an

up the wiper arm,besure toobserve
the following precautions.

the P(Park) position (Continu-
ously Variable Transmission
models) .
Ð Make suretheshift lever isin
the N(Neutral) position,withthe
parking brakefullyapplied
(Manual Transmission models).
Ð Never allowthepassengers to
operate thewindshield wiper
switch inadvertently.
. Donot operate thewindshield wiper
while thewiper armispulled up.The
wiper armmay bedamaged.

. When xenon headlights areon,they
produce ahigh voltage. To prevent
an electric shock,neverattempt to
modify ordisassemble. Itis recom-
mended tohave yourxenon head-
lights replaced ataNISSAN dealer.
. Xenon headlights provideconsider-
ably more lightthanconventional
headlights. Ifthey arenot correctly
aimed, theymight temporarily blind
an oncoming driverorthe driver
ahead ofyou and cause aserious
accident. Ifheadlights arenot aimed
correctly, itis recommended totake
your vehicle toaNISSAN dealerand
have theheadlights adjustedcor-
rectly.
When thexenon headlight isinitially turnedon,
its brightness orcolor varies slightly .However,
the color andbrightness willsoon stabilize.
. The lifeofxenon headlights willbe

(for example, whenthevehicle stopsat
a traffic signal) .
. Ifthe xenon headlight bulbisclose to
burning out,thebrightness willdrasti-
cally decrease, thelight willstart
blinking, orthe color ofthe light will
become reddish. Ifone ormore ofthe
above signsappear, contactaNISSAN
dealer.

for extended periodsoftime, other-
wise thebattery willbedischarged.
. Never leavethelight switch on
when theengine isnot running for
extended periodsoftime even ifthe
headlights turnoffautomatically.
Daytime runninglightsystem (forNISMO
models andCanada)

The daytime runninglightsautomatically illumi-
nate when theengine isstarted withtheparking
brake released. Thedaytime runninglights
operate withtheheadlight switchinthe OFF
position. Turn theheadlight switchtothe
position forfull illumination whendriving atnight.
(The daytime runninglightswillturn off.)
If the parking brakeisapplied beforetheengine
is started, thedaytime runninglightsdonot
illuminate. Thedaytime runninglightsilluminate
once theparking brakeisreleased. Thedaytime
running lightswillremain onuntil theignition
switch isplaced inthe OFF position.
WARNING
When thedaytime runninglightsystem
is active, taillights onyour vehicle are
not on.Itis necessary atdusk toturn on
your headlights. Failuretodo socould
cause anaccident injuringyourself and
others.
