RAIN SENS OR
(for vers ions/markets where provided)
The rain s ensor A - fig. 35 i s located behind the internal
rear view mirror in contact with the wind screen and au-
tomatically adjusts the frequenc y of the winds creen wiper
s trokes according to the rain intens ity during intermittent
operation.
The sens or has an adjus tment range that varie s progres -
s ively from wiper s till (no stroke) when the wind screen
i s dry , to wiper at firs t continuous s peed (s low continu-
ou s operation) with inten se rain.

Activation
Move the right lever down b y one click.
The activation of the sens or is s ignalled by a “stroke” to
s how that the command ha s been acquired.
IMPORTANT Keep the gla ss in the sensor area clean.
B y turning ring nut F - fig. 34 it i s possible to increas e the
s ens itivity of the rain sens or to obtain a more rapid vari-
ation between wiper s till (no stroke) when the winds creen
i s dry , to wiper at firs t continuous s peed (s low continu-
ous operation).
The increas ing of the rain sens or sens itivity is s ignalled b y
a “s troke” to s how that the command ha s been acquired.

wiper “s troke” even if the winds creen is dry.CRUISE CONTROL
(constant speed regulator)
(for vers ions/markets , where provided)
This is an electronicall y controlled driving a ssistance de-
vice which allow s the vehicle to be driven at a cho sen speed
above 30 km/h on long stretches of dry, straight roads with
few variations (e.g. motorwa ys), without having to depre ss
the accelerator pedal.
It i s therefore not recommended to u se this device on ex-
tra-urban roads with traffic. Do not u se it in town.
A CTIVATING THE DEVIC E

When travelling downhill with the device engaged, the ve-
hicle speed may slightly exceed the pres et one.
The engagement of the device is s ignalled by the Üwarn-
ing light coming on in the in strument panel (together with
a message shown on the di splay ) (see “Ins trument panel
warning light s” paragraph).
S TORING THE C AR SPEED
Proceed as follows:
❍ turn the ring nut A - fig. 36 to ON and press the ac-
celerator pedal until the vehicle reaches the desired
s peed;
❍ turn the ring nut to (+) for at lea st three s econds, then
relea se it. The vehicle speed is now memoris ed and you
can therefore releas e the accelerator pedal.
If needed (when overtaking for in stance), you can accel-
erate simply by pre ssing the accelerator pedal; when you
releas e the pedal, the car will r
eturn to the speed memo-
ris ed previous ly .
RES TORING THE MEMORIS ED SPEED
If the device has been switched off, for example by de-
pressing the brake or clutch pedal, the memori sed speed
can be res tored as follows:
❍ accelerate graduall y until reaching a s peed approach-
ing the memori sed speed; ❍
engage the gear selected at the time of s peed memo-
ris ing (fourth, fifth or sixth gear);
❍ press button C - fig. 36.
INC REAS ING THE MEMORIS ED SPEED
This can be done in two wa ys:
❍ by pressing the accelerator and then memori sing the
new speed reached;
or
❍ by temporaril y turning ring nut B - fig. 36 to (+).
Each movement of the selector wheel will corres pond to
a slight incr
ease in s peed (about 1 km/h), while keeping
the selector wheel turned will corre spond to a continu-
ous speed increas e.
REDUC ING THE MEMORIS ED SPEED
This can be done in two wa ys:
❍ by dis engaging the device and then memoris ing the
new speed;
or
❍ by keeping ring nut B - fig. 36 turned to (–) until the
new speed is reached; it will then be memori sed auto-
matically .
Each movement of the ring nut will corre spond to a re-
duction in s peed of about 1 km/h, while keeping the ring
nut turned will corres pond to a continuous reduction in
s peed.
