REPLACEMENT
1.REMOVE FRONT SPOILER COVER LH (See page 76±3)
2.REMOVE FRONT SPOILER COVER RH (See page 76±3)
3.REMOVE FRONT BUMPER COVER (See page 76±3) 4. REMOVE HEAD LIGHT ASSY
(a) Disconnect the connector.
(b) Remove the 2 screws.
(c) Remove the headlamp assy and disengage the claw asshown in the illustration.
5. REMOVE HEADLAMP, NO.1 BULB (HALOGEN HEAD LAMP)
(a) Release the lock of the set spring and remove the head- lamp bulb No.1.
6. REMOVE DISCHARGE HEADLAMP BULB (DISCHARGE HEAD LAMP)
(a) Rotate the bulb socket cover in the direction of the arrow
and pull it of backward of the vehicle.

REPAIR
1. INSPECT WINDOW GLASS (ANTENNA WIRE)
NOTICE:
When cleaning the glass, wipe it in the direction of the wire
with a soft and dry cloth. Take care not to damage the wire.
Do not use detergents or glass cleaners with abrasive in-
gredients. When measuring voltage, wind a piece of tin foil
around the tip of the tester probe and press the foil against
the wire with your finger, as shown in the illustration.
(a) Check the continuity, at the center of each antenna wire,
as shown in the illustration.
2. REPAIR WINDOW GLASS (ANTENNA WIRE)
(a) Clean the broken wire tips with a grease, wax and silicone
remover.
(b) Place the masking tape along both sides of the wire to be
repaired.
(c) Thoroughly mix the repair agent (Dupont paste No.4817).
(d) Using a fine tip brush, apply a small amount of the mixture
to the wire.
(e) After a few minutes, remove the masking tape.
(f) Do not repair the defogger wire for at least 24 hours after-
wards.

REPLACEMENT
HINT:
The installation is in the reverse order of the removal. However, when there is a special point concerning
the installation, it is indicated.
1.REMOVE BACK DOOR TRIM BOARD ASSY (See page 75±45)
(a) Remove the back door trim panel upper.
(b) Remove the back door side garnish LH.
(c) Remove the back door side garnish RH.
(d) Remove the back door trim board.
2.REMOVE REAR SPOILER (See page 76±30)
3.REMOVE REAR WIPER MOTOR ASSY (See page 66±17)
(a) Remove the wiper arm head cap.
(b) Remove the rear wiper arm.
(c) Remove the wiper motor.
4. REMOVE BACK DOOR GLASS
(a) Pass a piano wire between the body and glass from theinterior.
(b) Tie both wire ends to wooden blocks or similar objects.
HINT:
Apply protective tape to the outer surface to prevent the surface
from being scratched.
NOTICE:
When separating the glass, take care not to damage the
paint and interior and exterior ornaments.
(c) Cut off the adhesive by pulling the piano wire around it.
(d) Using a suction rubber, remove the glass.
NOTICE:
Leave as much adhesive on the body as possible when re-
moving the glass.
5. CLEAN BACK DOOR GLASS
(a) Clean the outer circumference of the glass with white gas- oline.
NOTICE:
Do not touch the glass surface after cleaning it.
Be careful not to damage the body.

7. INSPECT SEAT BELT WARNING LIGHT & BUZZER
(a) Check the operation.
(1) Turn the ignition switch to ON and check that the warning light comes on.
(2) Fasten the outer belt to the inner belt and check that the warning light goes out.
(3) Disconnect the connector from the buckle switch and ground the terminal on the wire harness
side connector.
(4) Turn the ignition switch to ON and check that the warning light comes on.
8. INSPECT LOW OIL PRESSURE WARNING LIGHT
(a) Inspect the circuit.
(1) Disconnect the connector from the low oil pressure switch.
(2) Turn the ignition switch to ON.
(3) Ground the terminal of the wire harness side connector, then check the low oil pressure warning
light.
Low oil pressure warning light: Come on
9. INSPECT BRAKE WARNING LIGHT
(a) Inspect the parking brake warning light.
(1) Disconnect the connector from the parking brake switch and ground the terminal on the wire har-
ness side connector.
(2) Turn the ignition switch to ON and check that the warning light comes on.
(b) Inspect the brake fluid level warning light.
(1) Disconnect the connector from the brake fluid level warning switch and connect the terminals
on the wire harness side connector.
(2) Turn the ignition switch to ON and check that the warning light comes on.
10. INSPECT BRAKE FLUID LEVEL WARNING SWITCH
(a) Inspect the continuity.
(1) Remove the reservoir tank cap and strainer.
(2) Disconnect the connector.

7. INSPECT BACK WINDOW (DEFOGGER WIRE)
NOTICE:
When cleaning the glass, wipe the glass along the
wire using a soft and dry cloth. Take care not to dam-
age the wires.
Do not use detergents or glass cleaners including
abrasive ingredients.
When measuring voltage, wrap a piece of tin foil
around the tip of the negative probe and press the foil
against the wire with your finger, as shown in the il-
lustration
(a) Turn the ignition switch ON.
(b) Turn the defogger switch ON.
(c) Inspect the voltage at the center of each defogger wire,
as shown in the illustration.
Standard:
VoltageCriteria
Approx. 5 VOkay, wire is not broken
Approx. 10 or 0 VWire is broken
HINT:
If there is approximately 10 V, the wire may be broken between
the center of the wire and the end on the battery side. If there
is no voltage, the wire may be broken between the center of the
wire and the end on the ground side.
(d) Place the voltmeter positive (+) lead against the defogger
wire on the battery side.
(e) Place the voltmeter negative (±) lead with the foil strip
against the wire on the ground side.
(f) Slide the positive (+) lead from the battery side to the
ground side.
(g) The point where the voltmeter deflects from approx. 10V
to 0 V is the place where the defogger wire is broken.
HINT:
If the defogger wire is not broken, the voltmeter indicates 0 V
at the positive (+) end of the defogger wire but gradually in-
creases to about 12 V as the meter probe moves to the other
end.
