VALUES ON THE DIAGNOSIS TOOL
NOTE:
• The following table includes information (items) inapplicable to this vehicle. For information (items) applica-
ble to this vehicle, refer to CONSULT display items.
• Numerical values in the following table are reference values.
• These values are input/output values that ECM receiv es/transmits and may differ from actual operations.
Example: The ignition timing shown by the timing light may differ from the ignition timing displayed on the
data monitor.
This occurs because the timing light shows a value calculated by ECM according to signals received from
the camshaft position sensor and other sensors related to ignition timing.
• For outlines of following items, refer to EC-60, "
CONSULT Function".

P2135 Throttle position sensor ECM controls the electric throttle control actuator in regulating the throttle opening in order
for the idle position to be within +10 degrees.
ECM regulates the opening speed of the throttle valve to be slower than the normal con-
dition.
So, the acceleration will be poor.
P0196
P0197
P0198 Engine oil temperature sensor • Exhaust valve timing control does not function.

• ECM operates active grille shutter to fully-open position.
P0524 Engine oil pressure • ECM illuminates oil pressure warning lamp on the combination meter.
• Engine speed will not rise more than 4,000 rpm due to the fuel cut.
• Fail-safe is canceled when ignition switch OFF → ON.
P059F Active grille shutter • When a voltage and temperature related malfunction is detected, the active grille shutter
stops at the position of detection.
• Except for the above case, operates the active grille shutter to fully opened position.

Engine torque may be limited.
P0604
ECM • ECM stops the electric throttle control actuator control, throttle valve is maintained at a
fixed opening (Approx. 5 decrees) by the return spring.

- Intake valve timing control solenoid valve
- Exhaust valve timing control solenoid valve
• ASCD operation may be deactivated.

Accelerator Pedal Released Position Learning is a function of ECM to learn the fully released position of the
accelerator pedal by monitoring the accelerator pedal position sensor output signal. It must be performed each
time harness connector of accelerator pedal positi on sensor or ECM is disconnected. Refer to EC-128, "
Work
Procedure".
Work ProcedureINFOID:0000000012431355
1.START
1. Make sure that accelerator pedal is fully released.
2. Turn ignition switch ON and wait at least 2 seconds.
3. Turn ignition switch OFF and wait at least 10 seconds.

DescriptionINFOID:0000000012431356
Throttle Valve Closed Position Learning is a function of ECM to learn the fully closed position of the throttle
valve by monitoring the throttle position sensor out put signal. It must be performed each time harness connec-
tor of electric throttle control actuator or ECM is di sconnected or electric throttle control actuator inside is
cleaned. Refer to EC-129, "
Work Procedure".
Work ProcedureINFOID:0000000012431357
1.START
WITH CONSULT
1. Turn ignition switch ON.
2. Select “CLSD THL POS LEARN” in “WORK SUPPORT” mode.
3. Follow the instructions on the CONSULT display.
4. Turn ignition switch OFF and wait at least 10 seconds. Check that throttle valve moves during the above 10 seconds by confirming the operating sound.
WITHOUT CONSULT
1. Start the engine.
NOTE:
Engine coolant temperature is 25 °C (77° F) or less before engine starts.
2. Warm up the engine. NOTE:
Raise engine coolant temperature until it reaches 65 °C (149 °F) or more.
3. Turn ignition switch OFF and wait at least 10 seconds. Check that throttle valve moves during the above 10 seconds by confirming the operating sound.

U0101 CAN COMM CIRCUIT
DescriptionINFOID:0000000012431374
CAN (Controller Area Network) is a serial communication line for real time application. It is an on-vehicle mul-
tiplex communication line with high data communication s
peed and excellent error detection ability. Many elec-
tronic control units are equipped onto a vehicle, and each control unit shares information and links with other
control units during operation (not independent). In CA N communication, control units are connected with 2
communication lines (CAN H line, CAN L line) allowing a high rate of information transmission with less wiring.
Each control unit transmits/receives data but selectively reads required data only.
