Adjusting the armrest
... To adjust the ang le, raise the armrest from the
starting position detent by deten t.

tion, lift it above t he top position and then fold

Adjust the head restraint so the upper edge is as
even as possib le with the top of your head. If that
is not poss ib le, try to adjust the head restraint so
that it is as close to this position as possible .
Move the head restraint so that it is as close to
the back of the head as possible.

Removing the head restraints

Pull the head restraint out of the backrest at
the same time

Installing the head rest ra ints
• Slide the posts on t he head restraint down into
the gu ides unti l yo u feel the posts lock in to
place.
• Press the button -a rrow-

head restraint all the way down. You should not

be able to pull the head restraint out o f the
backrest.
So that the dr ive r can have a better view to the
rear, the head rest raints shou ld be pushed down
completely when the rear seats are not occupied .
A WARNING
-On ly remove the rear seat head restraints
when necessary in order to install a ch ild
seat . Install the head restraint again imme­
diately once the child seat is removed . Driv­
ing without head restraints or with head re­
stra ints that are not prope rly adjusted in­
creases the risk of serio us or fata l neck in­
jury d ramat ica lly .

Memory function
Description
Applies to : vehicles wi th memo ry function
Using the memory function, you can quick ly and
easily store a personal seat profile for the dr iver
and front passenger and recall the sett ings. The
memory funct io n is co ntrolled using the remote
control key and the memory buttons in the dr iv ­
er's/front passenger's door* .
-
The driver' s seat prof ile is sto red aga in and as­
s igned to the remote control key each time the
vehicle is locked . When you open the door, the
seat profile is automatically recalled .
If two peo­
ple use the vehicle , it is recommended that eac h
person always uses "t heir own" remote control
k ey.
Two sea t profiles can be stored using the memo­
ry bu ttons in the d rive r's/front passenge r's
doo r*. Once they are stored, these seat profi les
can be selec ted at any time.

The driver's seat profile can be assigned to the
remote control key when the vehicle is locked.
• Select: the ICARI function button > (Car)* Sys­

If you do not wish to have the seat profile for
another driver assigned to the remote control
key, switch the memory function off in the In­
fotainment system or using the IOFFI button

Memory buttons

The memory buttons are located in the driver's/
front passenger's door*.
Switching the memory function on/off
• Press the IOFFI button to switch the memory
function on/off. The
LED in the button turns on
Seats and storage
when the memory function is off . Seat profiles
are neither stored nor recalled.
Storing a seat profile
• Press thelSETI button. When the word SET
lights up, the memory is ready to store set­
tings .
• Now press a memory button briefly.
A tone
confirms that the settings were stored.
Accessing a seat profile
• If the driver's door is open and the ignition is
sw itched off, press the memo ry button.
.. If the driver's door is closed or the ignition is
switched on, press and hold the memory but­
ton until the seat adjustment is complete .
A WARNING
-For safety reasons, the seat setting can only
be recalled when the vehicle is stationary,
otherwise the re is a risk of an accident.
- If necessary, you can stop the recall process
by press ing the IOFFI button or any memory
button.
Adjusting the front passenger's seat in the
Infotainment system
Applies to: vehicles with memory function
The driver can move the front passenger's seat
into various positions.
Adjusting the front passenger's seat from
the driver's seat
• Select: the I CAR I funct ion button > (Car) * Sys­
tems
contro l button > Vehicle settings > Seats
> Front passenger's seat > Adjust seat posi­
tion .
• You can now adjust the front passenger's seat

Never use the ashtray to hold paper, because
this increases the risk of a fire .
Cigarette lighter

.. Remove the cigarette lighter when it pops out.
A WARNING
The c igarette lighter only works when the ig­
n ition is switched on. Incorrect usage can lead
to serious injuries or burns. For this reason,
chi ldren should never be left unattended in
the vehicle because th is increases the risk of
injury .

12 Volt sockets

There are addi tional 12 Vo lt socket in the center
console under the cente r arm rest* and in the rear
¢fig. 61.
The 12-volt sockets can be used for electrical ac­
cessories. The power usage must not exceed
120 watts.
_& WARNING
The socke ts and the ele ctrical accessories con­
nected to them only f unct ion when the igni­
tion is switched on. Incor rect usage can lead
to ser ious injuries or b urns. To reduce the risk
of injur ies, never leave chi ldren unattended in
the vehicle with the veh icle key.

- To reduce the risk of damage to the vehicle
electrical system, never attempt to charge
the vehicle battery by connecting accesso­
ries that prov ide power, such as solar panels

the arm. The arm swings back by itself and au­
tomatically secures the beverage.

section between the two arms and push the cu­
pholder in the slot as far as it w ill go.

personal injury .

-Never carry any beverage containers with
hot liquids, such as hot coffee or hot tea, in
the vehicle while it is moving. In case of an
accident, sudden braking or other vehicle movement, hot liquid could spill, causing
scalding burns. Spilled hot liquid can also cause an accident and personal injury .
- Use only soft cups in the cupholder. Hard
cups and glasses can cause injury in an acci­
dent .
- Never use the cupholder or adapter as an
ashtray - risk of fire.
(D Note
Only drink containers with lids should be car­
ried in the cupholder. Liquid could spill out
and damage your vehicle's electronic equip­
ment or stain the upholstery, etc.
Cooled glove compartment
Applies to : ve hicles with coole d glove compar tme nt
The cooled glove compartment only functions
when the AIC system is switched on .

• Turn the knob @counterclockwise to switch
cooling on . The symbols on the knob indicate
the correct position.
• Turn the knob @clockwise to switch cooling
off.
The glove compartment cooling mode only func­ tions when the vehicle A/C system is switched on.
If the heating is switched on, switching the glove
compartment cooling mode off is recommended.

A WARNING
Always leave the lid on the glove compart­
ment cover closed while driving to reduce the
risk of injury .
Additional storage
There are a variety of storage compartments and
fasteners in various places in the vehicle .
- Storage compartments in the doors
- Compartment in the glove compartment
(cooled*) . The glove compartment can be
locked using the mechanical key

roof (near the interior mirror)
- Storage compartments under the center armr­
ests
- Compartments* on the back of the front seat
backrests
- Garment hooks on the sides of the pillars in the
rear of the vehicle and in the rear grab handles
- Compartment in the rear center armrest
- Storage in the trim panels in the luggage com-
partment
A WARNING
- Always remove objects from the instrument
panel. Any items not stored could slide
around inside the vehicle while driving or
when accelerating or when applying the brakes or when driving around a corner.
- When you are driving make sure that any­
thing you may have placed in the center con­
sole or other storage locations cannot fall
out into the footwells . In case of sudden
braking you would not be able to brake or
accelerate.
- Always keep the lid of the compartment for
(sun)glasses* closed while driving to reduce
the risk of injury during a sudden braking
maneuver or in the event of an accident.
- Any articles of clothing that you have hung
up must not interfere with the driver's view.
The coat hooks are designed only for light­
weight clothing. Never hang any clothing
with hard, pointed or heavy objects in the

pockets on the coat hooks. During sudden
braking or in an accident- especially if the
airbag is deployed -these objects could in­
jure any passengers inside the vehicle .
- To reduce the risk of personal injury in an
accident or sudden stop, always keep the
glove compartment closed while driving.
- Read and follow all WARNINGS
q page 155, Important safety instructions
on the side airbag system.
- Hang clothes in such a way that they do not
impair the driver's vision.
- The coat hooks must only be used for light­
weight clothing . Do not leave any heavy or
sharp edged objects in the pockets which
may interfere with the side curtain airbag
deployment and can cause personal injury in
a crash .
- Do not use coat hangers for hanging cloth­
ing on the coat hooks as this can interfere
with proper deployment of the side curtain
airbags in an accident.
- Do not hang heavy objects on the coat
hooks, as they could cause personal injury in
a sudden stop.
CD Note
Objects located on the rear shelf that rub
against the rear window could damage the
heat ing wires for the rear window defogger.
Roof rack
Description and mounting locations
Additional cargo can be carried with a roof lug­
gage rack.

.,. Always read and follow the instructions provid ­
ed by the roof rack manufacturer when instal­
ling the roof rack system.
If luggage or cargo is to be carried on the roof,
you must observe the following :
- Only use roof racks approved for your vehicle.
These approved roof racks are the basis for a
complete roof rack system. Additional attach­
ments or carrier systems are needed to trans­
port luggage and sports equipment. We recom­ mend using roof racks from the Audi original
accessories program.
- When installing the roof rack, make sure it is
only mounted on the designated locations on
the roof
q fig. 65.
- We recommend that you keep the installation instructions for your roof rack system together
with your Owner's literature in the vehicle.
When should the roof rack be removed?
-Before going through an automatic car wash (it
is best to ask the car wash operator for advice).
- When not in use, to reduce fuel consumption,
wind noise and to guard against theft.

- Use of an unapproved roof rack or incorrect
mounting of an approved roof rack can
cause the roof rack or the items attached to it to fall off the roof onto the road.
- Objects falling from the roof of a vehicle can
cause a crash and personal injury.
- Only mount the roof rack on the designated
locations on the roof¢

- The roof rack system must be installed ex­
actly according to the instructions provided.
- When driving with a roof rack system,
changes to the center of gravity and wind
resistance can change the vehicle handling
and lead to a collision. Always adapt your
driving and your speed to the current condi­
tions.

- Always check the roof rack mo untings and
hardware before each trip and during a trip
to make sure everyth ing is securely tight ­
ened . If necessary, ret ighten the mo untings
and check the ent ire system from time to
time .
- After mounting a roof rack system, or when
you transport objects on the roof of your ve­ hicle, the height of the veh icle is nat urally
i nc reased . Be careful when d riving under
l ow b ridges or in par king ga rages for exam­
ple. This could ca use damage to the load
and even the vehi cle itself.
- M ake su re the open rear lid and the sun­
r oof* do not come into contac t with the roof
rack .
Loading the roof rack
Always distribute loads evenly. Make sure any­
t hing on the roof rack is securely tied down .
• Always distribute the loads on the roof rack
evenly .
• Always attach i tems to the roof rack securely
before you drive off .
The max imum pe rm iss ib le roof weigh t is
220 lb
( 100 kg ).
The roof weight is the tota l of the
weight of the roof rack , the atta chments and the
cargo you are carrying. You must also not exceed
the maximum load we ight for the roof rack you
are us ing .
When using a roof rack system wh ich has a lower
load carrying capacity, you must not use up the
tota l maximum p erm issible load carry ing capac i­
ty specified above . Instead, you shou ld load the
r oof rack system only to the maximum capac ity
specified by the manufacturer of the roof rack
system .

Weak, damaged o r improper straps used to
secure items to the roof rack ca n fa il dur ing

hard brak ing or in a collision and cause seri ­
ous persona l injury.
- Make sure the roof rack is installed exactly
as specified above

cur ing items to the roof rack to he lp prevent
items from shifting or flying forward.
- Items on the roof rack must always be se ­
curely mounted .
- The use of a roof rack can negative ly affect
the way a vehicle handles . Cargo that is
large, heavy, b ulky, long or flat will have a
greater negative influence on the vehicle 's
aerodynamics, center o f grav ity and overall
handling . Always drive slowly, avo id sudden
braking and maneuvers when transporting
cargo on t he roof of your vehicle.
- Never exceed the maximum permissib le
load ca rry ing capacity of the roof of yo ur ve­
hicle, t he pe rm iss ible axle weights and the
pe rm issib le tota l we igh t of yo ur vehicle
