Daytime running light system
(Canada only)
The daytime running lights automatically illumi-
nate when the engine is started with the park-
ing brake released. The daytime running lights
operate with the headlight switch in the OFF
position or in the
position. Turn the
headlight switch to the
position for full
illumination when driving at night.
If the parking brake is applied before the engine
is started, the daytime running lights do not
illuminate. The daytime running lights illumi-
nate once the parking brake is released. The
daytime running lights will remain on until the
ignition switch is pushed to the OFF position.
WARNING
When the daytime running light system is ac-
tive, tail lights on your vehicle are not on. It is
necessary at dusk to turn on your headlights.
Failure to do so could cause an accident injur-
ing yourself and others.
Adaptive Front lighting System (AFS)
(if so equipped)
The Adaptive Front lighting System (AFS) will
automatically adjust the headlights (low beam) toward the turning direction to improve the
driver’s view. When the headlight switch is ON
and the driver operates the steering wheel in a
turn, the AFS system will be activated.
The AFS will operate:
●
when the headlight switch is ON.
● when the selector lever is in any position
other than P (Park) or R (Reverse).
● when the vehicle is driven at above 16 MPH
(25 km/h) for the left-side headlight. Note
that the right-side low beam headlight will
swivel but the left side will not swivel when
the vehicle is at a stop and the steering
wheel is turned. The vehicle must attain a
speed above 16 MPH (25 km/h) before AFS
activates the left-side headlight.
AFS will also adjust the headlight to a proper
axis automatically, depending on the number of
occupants in the vehicle, the load the vehicle is
carrying and the road conditions.
If the AFS OFF indicator light blinks after the
ignition switch has been pushed to the ON
position, this may indicate that the AFS is not
functioning properly. Have the system checked
by an INFINITI retailer. When the engine is
started, the headlights will vibrate to check the
system condition. This is not a malfunction.SIC3270

Instrument brightness control
The instrument brightness control switch can be
operated when the ignition switch is in the ON
position. When the switch is operated, the dot
matrix liquid crystal display switches to the
brightness adjustment mode.
Push the upper switch
Ato brighten the
instrument panel lights. The bar

the + side. When reaching the maximum bright-
ness, “MAX” appears on the display

Push the lower switch

When reaching the minimum brightness, “MIN”
appears on the display
3. However, “MIN”
does not appear during the nighttime. The dot matrix liquid crystal display returns to
the normal display under the following condi-
tions:

when the instrument brightness control
switch is not operated for more than 5
seconds.
● when the
orswitch on the right
side of the combination meter panel is
pushed.
TURN SIGNAL SWITCH
1Turn signal
Move the lever up or down to signal the turning
direction. When the turn is completed, the turn
signals cancel automatically.
2Lane change signal
To indicate a lane change, move the lever up or
down to the point where lights begin flashing.

FOG LIGHT SWITCH
To turn the fog lights on, turn the headlight
switch to the
position, then turn the
switch to the
position. To turn them off,
turn the switch to the OFF position.
The headlights must be on for the fog lights to
operate. Push the switch on to warn other drivers when
you must stop or park under emergency condi-
tions. All turn signal lights will flash.WARNING
●
If stopping for an emergency, be sure to
move the vehicle well off the road.
● Do not use the hazard warning flashers while
moving on the highway unless unusual cir-
cumstances force you to drive so slowly that
your vehicle might become a hazard to other
traffic.
● Turn signals do not work when the hazard
warning flasher lights are on. The flasher can be actuated with the ignition
switch in any position.
Some state laws may prohibit the use of the
hazard warning flasher switch while driving.

To sound the horn, push the center pad area of
the steering wheel.
WARNING
Do not disassemble the horn. Doing so could
affect proper operation of the supplemental
front air bag system. Tampering with the
supplemental front air bag system may result
in serious personal injury.The climate controlled seat warms up or cools
down the front seats by blowing warm or cool
air from the surface of the seat. The switches
located on the center console can be operated
independently of each other.1. Start the engine.

The climate controlled seat blower remains
on low speed for approximately 60 seconds
after turning the switch on or selecting the
desired temperature.
4. When the vehicle’s interior is warmed or
cooled, and/or before you leave the ve-
hicle, be sure to turn the control knob to
the OFF position (center). The indicator
light

the OFF position.
To check the air filter for the climate con-
trolled seat, contact an INFINITI retailer.
WARNING
Do not use or allow occupants to use the seat
heater if you or the occupants cannot monitor
elevated seat temperatures or have an inability
to feel pain in body parts that contact the seat.
Use of the seat heater by such people could
result in serious injury.
CAUTION
● The battery could run down if the climate
controlled seat is operated while the engine
is not running.
● Do not use the climate controlled seat for
extended periods or when no one is using
the seat.

●Do not put anything on the seat which insu-
lates heat, such as a blanket, cushion, seat
cover, etc. Otherwise, the seat may become
overheated.
● Do not place anything hard or heavy on the
seat or pierce it with a pin or similar object.
This may result in damage to the climate
controlled seat.
● Any liquid spilled on the seat should be re-
moved immediately with a dry cloth.
● The climate controlled seat has an air filter.
Do not operate climate controlled seat with-
out an air filter. This may result in damage to
the system.
● When cleaning the seat, never use gasoline,
thinner, or any similar materials.
● If any malfunctions are found or the climate
controlled seat does not operate, turn the
switch off and have the system checked by
an INFINITI retailer. The Lane Departure Warning (LDW) system will
sound a warning chime and blink the lane
departure warning light
(orange) to alert
the driver if the vehicle is traveling close to
either the left or the right of a traveling lane
with detectable lane markers.
The LDW system activates automatically when
the ignition switch is pushed to the ON posi-
tion. (This is the automatic setting mode.) The
LDW ON indicator
1on the switch will illumi-
nate.
To cancel the LDW system, push the LDW switch
to turn off the system. The LDW ON indicator
1
will turn off. Pushing the LDW switch will also turn off the
Forward Collision Warning (FCW) system simul-
taneously.
The LDW system will automatically turn on
whenever the ignition switch is pushed to the
“ON” position, even if the LDW system was
previously turned off. To keep the LDW system
from turning on automatically each time the
ignition switch is pushed to the “ON” position,
push and hold the LDW switch for at least 4
seconds while the LDW ON indicator is off. This
enables the manual setting mode. In the
manual setting mode, the LDW system can be
turned on or off by briefly pushing the LDW
switch.

The Forward Collision Warning (FCW) system
will sound a warning chime and blink the
forward collision warning light
(orange)
to alert the driver if the vehicle is traveling close
to a vehicle ahead.
The FCW system activates automatically when
the ignition switch is pushed to the ON posi-
tion. (This is the automatic setting mode.) The
FCW ON indicator
1on the switch will illumi-
nate.
To cancel the FCW system, push the FCW switch
to turn off the system. The FCW ON indicator
1
will turn off. Pushing the FCW switch will also turn off the
Lane Departure Warning (LDW) system simulta-
neously.
The FCW system will automatically turn on
whenever the ignition switch is pushed to the
“ON” position, even if the FCW system was
previously turned off. To keep the FCW system
from turning on automatically each time the
ignition switch is pushed to the “ON” position,
push and hold the FCW switch for at least 4
seconds while the FCW ON indicator is off. This
enables the manual setting mode. In the
manual setting mode, the FCW system can be
turned on or off by briefly pushing the FCW
switch.

For driving or starting the vehicle on snowy
roads or slippery areas, turn on the SNOW
mode switch. The indicator light
1on the
switch will illuminate. When the SNOW mode is
activated, engine output is controlled to avoid
wheel spin.
Turn off the SNOW mode for normal driving.

The Continuous Damping Control optimizes the
damping force and helps minimize the move-
ment of the vehicle body. It helps stable driving
when the vehicle moves up and down on large
rolling roads or when the vehicle body leans
during cornering with a high centrifugal force.
The damping force will automatically adjust
according to the road surface and driving con-
ditions.
The damping force of the shock absorbers can
be adjusted to the level you desire. Set the
switch to the position you desire while the
ignition switch is ON.
AUTO MODE
Push the switch to the AUTO positionAfor a
smooth ride.
SPORT MODE
Push the switch to the SPORT positionBwhen
you desire a quick response all the time.
The SPORT mode indicator light will illuminate.
The vehicle should be driven with the Intelligent
Brake Assist (IBA) system on for most driving
conditions.
The Intelligent Brake Assist (IBA) system will
sound a warning chime to alert the driver when
the vehicle is traveling too close to the vehicle
ahead and will apply the brake control if nec-
essary.
To turn off the system, push the IBA OFF switch.
The
indicator will illuminate.
The IBA system will remain in the last ON or OFF
state it was left in until it is manually changed
by pushing the IBA OFF switch.

The vehicle should be driven with the Vehicle
Dynamic Control (VDC) system on for most
driving conditions.
If the vehicle is stuck in mud or snow, the VDC
system reduces the engine output to reduce
wheel spin. The engine speed will be reduced
even if the accelerator is depressed to the floor.
If maximum engine power is needed to free a
stuck vehicle, turn the VDC system off.
To turn off the VDC system, push the VDC OFF
switch. The
indicator will illuminate.
Push the VDC OFF switch again or restart the
engine to turn on the system. (See “VEHICLE
DYNAMIC CONTROL (VDC) SYSTEM” in the “5.
Starting and driving” section.) If the power supply is disconnected, the clock
will not indicate the correct time. Readjust the
time.
ADJUSTING THE TIME
1. To set the clock forward, push the button

2. To set the clock backward, push the but- ton
2.
3. To move forward or backward faster, push and hold the button more than 5 seconds.
