3. With the heater temperature control set to the "HOT" position, remove the radiator cap and open the radia-tor drain tap. 4. When the engine coolant has drained
completely, close the drain tap en-suring that this is not over tight- ened.
5. Prepare a suitable quantity of new engine coolant (refer to section 9)and pour this into the radiator.
6. Start the engine with the radiator cap still removed and continue to add coolant as the level decreases as air is expelled from the system. When the level remains constant, replace the radiator cap and replen- ish the coolant reservoir.
7. When the engine is hot, check to ensure that no coolant leaks are present.

!WARNING:
The cooling fan is controlled by engine coolant temperature and maysometimes operate even when the engine is not running. Use extreme caution when working near theblades of the cooling fan so that you are not injured by a rotating fan blade. As the engine coolant tem-perature decreases, the fan will au- tomatically shut off. This is a nor- mal condition.

G070A03Y-AAT CHANGING THE AIR CLEANER FILTER
CAUTION:
o Operating your vehicle without a proper air cleaner filter in place can result in excessive enginewear.
o When removing the air cleaner filter, be careful that dust or dirtdoes not enter the air intake. These may result in damage to the air cleaner filter.
The replacement of air cleaner filter isperformed in the following manner.
1. Unsnap the clips around the cover.
2. When this is done, the cover can be lifted off, the old filter removed and the new filter put in its place.
Genuine Hyundai replacement parts are recommended.
HHP5013-E The wiper blades should be carefully
inspected from time to time and cleaned to remove accumulations ofroad film or other debris.
To clean the wiper blades and arms,
use a clean sponge or cloth with a mild soap or detergent and water.
If the wipers continue to streak or
smear the glass, replace them withgenuine Hyundai replacement parts or their equivalent.
NOTE: It is also important to ensure that
the windscreen is regularly cleaned/ degreased using a proprietary glass cleaner.

The level of windscreen washer fluid
available should be checked on a daily basis. The level of fluid will be visiblethrough the side of the reservoir. When the fluid is to be replenished, only a proprietary screen wash additive shouldbe used and in the concentration rec- ommended by the manufacturer. The windscreen washer reservoir has atotal capacity of 4.5 litres.

To install the wiper blade
1. Put a new wiper blade onto the wiper arm and lower the wiper blade at the level of the wiper arm asshown in the drawing. HHR5050
2. Pull up the wiper blade until you
hear an audible "click" to engage inthe end of the wiper arm.
NOTE: Do not allow the wiper arm to fall
against the windscreen. This can result in damage to the windscreen. HHR5051

CAUTION:
Engine coolant anti freeze must not be used in the windscreen washersystem since damage to the paintwork may result. Undiluted windscreen washer addi- tive must not be allowed to come into contact with the paintwork. If spillage occurs, flush the affectedarea immediately with water. Do not operate the windscreen washer for more than 15 seconds continu- ously or when the reservoir is empty since damage to the washerpump will result. The transmission lubricant should be checked and/or changed at intervals specified in the maintenance sched-ule. NOTE: It is recommended that the manual transaxle lubricant should be checked by Hyundai authorised re-pairer. Recommended Lubricant Use only HYUNDAI GENUINE PARTS MTF 75W/85 (API GL-4).

WARNING:
o Windscreen washer fluid agents contain some amounts of alcohol and can be flammable under cer- tain circumstances. Do not allow sparks or flame to contact thewasher fluid or the washer fluid reservoir. Damage to the vehicle or its occupants could occur.
o Windscreen washer fluid is poi- sonous to humans and animals.Do not drink windscreen washer fluid. Serious injury or death could occur.

16AUTOMATIC TRANSMIS- SION LUBRICANT
G110A04HP-EAT Transmission lubricant should be changed at those intervals specified in the vehicle maintenance schedulein Section 5. NOTE: Basically automatic transmission fluid is red in colour. As driving distance increases, the fluid colourturns darkish red gradually. It is normal condition and you should not use fluid colour as a criterionfor replacing the transmission fluid. You must replace the automatictransmission fluid in accordancewith intervals specified in the ve- hicle maintenances schedule in section 5.
Recommended Lubricant Use only MOBIL DEXRON-II. Dam-age caused by a nonspecified fluid is not covered by your new vehicle lim- ited warranty.
! CAUTION:
The transmission lubricant level should only be checked when the engine is cold to prelude the possi- bility of personal injury by contactwith hot components.
1. To check the transmission lubricant level, the vehicle should be placedon level ground and the level plug removed with a suitable spanner.
2. If the level is correct, lubricant should begin to drip from the plug orifice. In this case the plug shouldbe replaced. If the level is incorrect, lubricantshould be added until it begins to drip from the plug orifice at which time the plug should be replaced.
!
Transmission Fluid Capacity The fluid capacity of the automatic transmission is 10.5 litres (Petrol En- gine)/ 11.8 litres (Diesel Engine).
CAUTION:
The transmission fluid level shouldbe checked when the engine is at normal operating temperature. Thismeans that the engine, radiator, exhaust system etc., are very hot so you should exercise great carenot to burn yourself during this procedure.

3. If the transmission fluid level is low,
use a funnel to add transmission fluid through the dipstick tube until the level reaches the "HOT" range. Do not overfill.
Fluid level should be within "HOT" range

To Check the Transmission Fluid Level
2. Remove the transmission dipstick, wipe it clean, reinsert the dipstick as far as it will go, then remove it again. Now check the fluid level on the dipstick. It should be in the"HOT" range on the dipstick.
Park the car on level ground with the
parking brake engaged. When thetransmission fluid level is checked, the transmission fluid should be at normal operating temperature and theengine idling. Whilst the engine is idling, apply the
brakes and move the gear selectorlever from "P" to each of its other positions — "R", "N", "D", "2", "L" — and then return to "N" or "P". With theengine still idling:
1. Open the bonnet, being careful to keep hands and clothing clear of any moving parts.

!!WARNING (Diesel only):
Never work on injection system with
engine running or within 30 sec- onds after shutting off engine. Highpressure pump, rail, injectors and high pressure pipes are subject to high pressure even after the enginestopped. The fuel jet produced by fuel leaks may cause serious injury, if it contacts the body. People usingpacemakers should ensure that they keep a distance of 30cm from the ECU or wiring harness within theengine room whilst engine is run- ning, since the high currents in the Common Rail system produce con-siderable magnetic fields.
WARNING:
The electric engine cooling fan au-
tomatically switches on and off ac- cording to engine temperature. Be careful to keep away from the fanduring this check as it may switch on at any time.
NOTE: Only lint free cloth should be used
for wiping the dipstick. The pres- ence of lint within the transmis- sion may cause problems with the normal function of the transmis-sion. CAUTION:
Correct operation of the braking
system is essential to the safe op- eration of the vehicle and there- fore, any maintenance operationsother than those listed below should be entrusted to a Hyundai authorised repairer.
