5L6 : FRONT SUB SENSOR (LH) INSPEC-
TION
Measure resistance across test harness H connec-
tor (3H) terminal and chassis ground.
Connector & terminal
(3H) No. 4 (+) Ð Chassis ground (þ):

:Is the resistance less than 10 kW?
: Go to step5L7.
: Replace front sub sensor (LH). 5-5 [W9A0].>5L7 : FRONT SUB SENSOR HARNESS (LH)
INSPECTION
1) Connect test harness I or I2 connector (1I) and
connector (AB6).
2) Disconnect connector (AB13) from front sub
sensor (LH) and then test
harness H connector (1H) and connector (AB13).
3) Measure resistance between test harness I or
I2 connector (3I) terminal and test harness H con-
nector (3H) terminal.
Connector & terminal
(3I) No. 3 Ð (3H) No. 5:

:Is the resistance less than 10W?
: Go to step5L8.
: Replace front sub sensor harness (LH)
and airbag main
harness.

INSPECTION
Measure resistance between test harness I or I2
connector (3I) terminal and test harness H connec-
tor (3H) terminal.
Connector & terminal
(3I) No. 1 Ð (3H) No. 6:

:Is the resistance less than 10W?
: Go to step5L9.
: Replace front sub sensor harness (LH)
and airbag main
harness. 5L9 : FRONT SUB SENSOR HARNESS (LH)
INSPECTION
1) Connect test harness I or I2 connector (1I) and
connector (AB6).
2) Disconnect connector (AB13) from front sub
sensor (LH) and then test
harness H connector (1H) and connector (AB13).
3) Measure resistance between test harness I or
I2 connector (3I) terminal and test harness H con-
nector (3H) terminal.
Connector & terminal
(3I) No. 3 Ð (3H) No. 6:

:Is the resistance more than 1 MW?
: Go to step5L10.
: Replace front sub sensor harness (LH)
and airbag main
harness.

5L13 : CHECK POOR CONTACT IN CON-
NECTORS (AB11) AND (AB12).
Check connectors (AB11) and (AB12).
:Is there poor contact in connectors
(AB11) and (AB12)?
: Repair poor contact in connectors
(AB11) and (AB12).
: Replace front sub sensor harness (LH)
and airbag main
harness.

M: TROUBLE CODE 41
DIAGNOSIS:
ISide airbag harness (RH) is faulty.
ISide airbag module (RH) is faulty.
IAirbag control module is faulty.
CAUTION:
Before performing diagnostics on airbag
system, turn ignition switch ªOFFº, disconnect
battery ground cable and then wait at least 20
seconds.
5M1 : SIDE AIRBAG MODULE INSPECTION
1) Disconnect connector (AB24) and (AB25), and
then connect connector (AB24) and test harness F
connector (1F).
2) Connect test harness F connector (3F) and air-
bag resistor .
3) Connect battery ground cable and then turn
ignition switch ON.
:Does the airbag warning light go off
after about 7 seconds and remain off
for more than 30 seconds?
: Replace front seat with side airbag mod-
ule (RH).
: Go to step5M2.5M2 : SIDE AIRBAG HARNESS (RH)
INSPECTION
1) Turn ignition switch OFF, disconnect battery
ground cable and then wait at least 20 seconds.
2) Disconnect test harness F and airbag resistor.
3) Disconnect connector (AB18) from airbag con-
trol module and connect test
harness I or I2 connector (1I).
4) Measure resistance between test harness I or
I2 connector (3I) terminal and test harness F con-
nector (3F) terminal.
Connector & terminal
(3I) No. 7 Ð (3F) No. 3:

:Is the resistance less than 10W?
: Go to step5M3.
: Replace side airbag harness (RH).

N: TROUBLE CODE 42
DIAGNOSIS:
ISide airbag harness (LH) is faulty.
ISide airbag module (LH) is faulty.
IAirbag control module is faulty.
CAUTION:
Before performing diagnostics on airbag
system, turn ignition switch ªOFFº, disconnect
battery ground cable and then wait at least 20
seconds.
5N1 : SIDE AIRBAG MODULE INSPECTION
1) Disconnect connector (AB19) and (AB20), and
then connect connector (AB19) and test harness F
connector (1F).
2) Connect test harness F connector (3F) and air-
bag resistor.
3) Connect battery ground cable and then turn
ignition switch ON.
:Does the airbag warning light go off
after about 7 seconds and remain off
for more than 30 seconds?
: Replace front seat with side airbag mod-
ule (LH).
: Go to step5N2.5N2 : SIDE AIRBAG HARNESS (LH)
INSPECTION
1) Turn ignition switch OFF, disconnect battery
ground cable and then wait at least 20 seconds.
2) Disconnect test harness F and airbag resistor.
3) Disconnect connector (AB17) from airbag con-
trol module and connect test
harness I or I2 connector (1I).
4) Measure resistance between test harness I or
I2 connector (3I) terminal and test harness F con-
nector (3F) terminal.
