Depending on the situation, it may take a
short time until jis engaged. Therefore,
alw ays pay attention tothe transmission posi-
tion displa y.
Pa rk position jis engaged automatically if one
of thefo llowing conditions is met:
R You switch the stationary vehicle o. in trans-
mission position hork.
R You open the driver's door when theve hicle is
at a standstill or when driving at a very low
speed and the transmission position is hor
k.
R When theve hicle is rolling, you switch if o. in
transmission position hork and bring it to
a standstill.
R You switch o. the engine, bring theve hicle to
a standstill and open the driver's door when
th eve hicle is stationary or when theve hicle is
ro lling and the transmission position is i.

the automatic transmission is shiTed to
position h,you can manually shiT it with the
stee ring wheel gearshiT paddle. If permitted, the
automatic transmission shiTs toa higher or lo wer
ge ar depending on the steering wheel gearshiT
paddle being pulled.

Glide mode is activated if
thefo llowing conditions
are met:
R Drive prog ram £ is selected.
R The speed is within a suitable range.
R The road's course is suitable, e.g. no steep
uphill or downhill inclines or tight bends.
R You do not depress the accelerator or brake
pedal (e xcept for light brake applications).
% Glide mode can also be activated if you ha ve
selected the "Eco" setting forth e drive in the
drive prog ram =.
Glide mode is deactivated again if one of the con-
ditions is no longer met.

neither reduce therisk of an accident nor override
th e la wsof ph ysics. 4MATIC cannot take account
of road, weather and tra1c conditions. 4MATIC is
only an aid. You are responsible especially for
maintaining a safe distance from theve hicle in
front, forve hicle speed, for braking in good time
and for st aying in lane.

Even small amounts of the wrong fuel could
re sult in damage tothe fuel system, the
engine and the emission control system. #
Only refuel using unleaded, sulphur-free
spar k-ignition engine fuel that conforms
to European EN 228, or an equivalent
speci/cation.
Fu el of this speci/cation may contain up to
10% ethanol. Your vehicle is suitable for use
with E10 fuel.

Combustion engines emit poisonous exhaust
ga ses such as carbon monoxide. Inhaling
th ese exhaust gases is hazardous tohealth
