R You are sitting as farawa y from the driver's air-
bag as possible.
R You are sitting in an upright position.
R Your thighs are gently suppor tedby the seat
cushion.
R Your legs are not fully extended and you can
re ach the pedals easil y.
R The back of your head is suppor ted at eye le vel
by the middle part of the head restraint.
R You can hold the steering wheel with your arms
slightly bent.
R You can mo veyour legs without any restric-
tions.
R You can see all of the inst rument cluster dis-
pla yswe ll. R
You ha vea good overview of the tra1c condi-
tions.
R Your seat belt sits snugly against your body
and passes across the centre of your shoulder

yo ur journe y. #
Always ensu rethat the seat backrest is
in an almost vertical position and that
th e shoulder section of your seat belt is
ro uted across the centre of your shoul-

If head restraints ha venot been installed or

increased risk of injury in the head and neck

Before driving o., make sure forev ery
ve hicle occupant that the centre of the
head restraint supports the back of the
head at about eye le vel. Do not inter
change the head restraints of the front
and rear seats. Otherwise, you will not be able to
set the height and inclination of the head restraints
to the cor rect position. Ad

th at it is as close as possible tothe back of your

Do not transport heavy loads on the
seats. Do not place any sharp objects,
such as knives, nails or tools, on the
seats. If possible, use the seats only for

wa rds or back until the desired position has
been reached. #
Release le ver1 and push the seat back or
fo rw ards until you hear the seat engage.
% For front swivel seats, the le ver in position 1
is used torelease the swivel seat. The le verto

of a bar in front of the seat (/ page 76).

When the memory function adjusts the seat,

If somebody becomes trapped, immedi-
ately release the memory function posi-
tion button.

In this situation, there straint systems cannot

Engage the driver's seat‑ and front
passenger seat in the direction of tr avel
before starting the engine. *

TE Damage tothe seats due tocollision
with adjacent car parts The seats can collide with adjacent car parts
when
they are rotated.
This can damage the seats. #
When rotating the seats, make sure there
is su1cient clearance. Yo
u can rotate the driver's and front passenger
seats by50° and 180°. The seats engage bo thin
and opposite tothe direction of tr avel as well as at
50° towa rdsth eex it. #
When rotating the seat, open there specti ve
front door in order toavo id a collision with the
door trim. #
Adjust the steering wheel in such a wayth at
th ere is su1cient clearance torotate and
adjust the driver's seat (/ page 98). #
Push le ver1 inthe direction of the ar row.
The turning device will be unloc ked. #
Rotate the seat in the desired direction. #
Ifth ere is a risk of collision with the centre
console or the B‑pillar, pull le ver2 upwards
and mo vethe front seat forw ards or bac k-
wa rds into the desired position. Then release
le ve r2. #
Inthe desired position, make sure that the seat
has engaged in the direction of rotation and
th e longitudinal direction. A A

Always make sure that there ar ben ch
seat is engaged as described. Ke
ep the seat anchorages in theve hicle 0oor free
of dirt and objects at all times toensure that the
seat engages securel y.
If th e indicator tab of the anchorage is not retrac-
te d into the seat leg, the seat is not cor rectly
engaged. Engage the seat again. Example: seat
rail system with quick- locking mech-
anism
Guide rails 1 ofthe seat rail system can be used
fo rth efo llowing purposes:
R For mounting up totwo rear seat rows
R For mounting bo threar seat rows facing one
ano ther
R For mounting rear seats and rear ben chseats
R For moving rear seats and rear ben chseats
% When youre mo veare ar ben chseat or a seat,
th e seat slider may slide into a guide rail. The
seat sliders will then no longer be parallel in
th e guide rails. In this case, you will no longer
be able to/tthere specti veseating. The seat
sliders must be mo ved only using a special
to ol or at a quali/ed specialist workshop in
order toprev ent therisk of damage. The tool is
available as a Mercedes-Benz accessory or
as part of a seat/bunk combination.

yo ur vehicle. Depending on
the type of seat anchorage in the
ve hicle 0oor, you can install thefo llowing seating
va riants:
R Rear ben chseats with two or thre e seats
R Single rear seats
R Seat/bunk combination with thre e seats
Depending on theve hicle equipment, you can /t
th ere ar ben chseats and there ar seats on the /rst
and/or second rear seat row.
The seating variants shown are permitted only if
th e conditions speci/ed below for safe rear seating
are met. Other seating variants are not permitted
and may endanger the occupants.
When using only the individual seats, there ar seats
can be ins talled facing in the direction of tr avel in
