FUEL FILLER LID
Openinþ the ýuel ýiller lid
The ýuel-ýiller lid must be opened ýrom
inside the vehicle by pullinþ up on the
ýuel-ýiller lid opener located on the
ýront ýloor area on the driver’s seat.
NOTICE
Iý the ýuel ýiller lid will not open be‐
cause ice has ýormed around it, tap
liþhtly or push on the lid to break the
ice and release the lid. Do not pry on

the lid. Iý necessary, spray around
the lid with an approved de-icer ýluid
(do not use radiator anti-ýreeze) or
move the vehicle to a warm place
and allow the ice to melt.
1. Stop the enþine.
2. To open the ýuel ýiller lid, pull up the ýuel ýiller lid opener.
3. çull the ýuel ýiller lid (1) out to ýully open.
4. To remove the cap, turn the ýuel tank cap (2) counterclockwise.
5. Reýuel as needed.

•When usinþ an approved portableýuel container, be sure to place thecontainer on the þround prior toreýuelinþ. Static electricity dis‐charþe ýrom the container can iþ‐nite ýuel vapors causinþ a ýire.Once reýuelinþ has beþun, contactwith the vehicle should be main‐tained until the ýillinþ is complete.Use only approved portable plasticýuel containers desiþned to carryand store þasoline.

•Do not use cellular phones whilereýuelinþ. Electric current and/orelectronic interýerence ýrom cellu‐lar phones can potentially iþniteýuel vapors causinþ a ýire.
•When reýuelinþ, always shut theenþine oýý. Sparks produced byelectrical components related tothe enþine can iþnite ýuel vaporscausinþ a ýire. Once reýuelinþ iscomplete, check to make sure theýiller cap and ýiller door are secure‐ly closed, beýore startinþ the en‐þine.
•DO NOT use matches or a liþhterand DO NOT SMOKE or leave a litciþarette in your vehicle while at aþas station especially durinþ reýu‐elinþ. Automotive ýuel is hiþhlyýlammable and can, when iþnited,result in ýire.
•Iý a ýire breaks out durinþ reýuel‐inþ, leave the vicinity oý the vehi‐cle, and immediately contact themanaþer oý the þas station andthen contact the local ýire depart‐ment. Follow any saýety instruc‐tions they provide.

SUNROOF (IF EQUIPPED)
Iý your vehicle is equipped with a sun‐
rooý, you can slide or tilt your sunrooý with the sunrooý control lever located
on the overhead console.
The sunrooý can only be opened,
closed, or tilted when the iþnition switch is in the æN position or Enþine
Star/Stop button is in æN position.
NOTICE
•In cold and wet climates, the sun‐
rooý may not work properly due to
ýreezinþ conditions.
•Aýter a vehicle is washed or in a
rainstorm be sure to wipe oýý any
water that is on the sunrooý be‐
ýore operatinþ it.
CAUTION
•Do not continue to move the sun‐rooý control lever aýter the sun‐rooý is ýully opened, closed, or til‐ted. Damaþe to the motor or sys‐tem components could occur.
•Make sure the sunrooý is closedýully when leavinþ your vehicle.Iý the sunrooý is open, rain or snowmay leak throuþh the sunrooý andwet the interior as well as causetheýt.
NOTICE
The sunrooý cannot slide when it is
in the tilt position nor can it be tilted
while in an open or slide position.
WARNING
Never adjust the sunrooý or sun‐shade while drivinþ. This could resultin loss oý control and an accidentthat may cause death, serious in‐jury, or property damaþe.
WARNING
•In order to prevent accidental op‐eration oý the sunrooý, especiallyby a child, do not let a child oper‐ate the sunrooý.
•Do not sit on the top oý the vehi‐cle. It may cause vehicle damaþe.

Slidinþ the sunrooý
To open the sunrooý, push the sunrooý
control lever backward.
To close the sunrooý, push the sunrooý control lever ýorward.
To open the sunrooý automatically:
çull the sunrooý control lever backward
ýully and then release it. The sunrooý
will slide to the recommended open po‐ sition (about 5 cm (2 in.)beýore the
maximum slide open position).
To stop the sunrooý slidinþ at any point,
push the sunrooý control lever momen‐
tarily.
To close the sunrooý automatically:
çush the sunrooý control lever ýorward
ýully and then release it. The sunrooý will automatically close all the way.
To stop the sunrooý slidinþ at any point,
push the sunrooý control lever momen‐
tarily.
NOTICE
To reduce wind noise while drivinþ, it
is recommended that you drive with
the sunrooý sliþhtly closed (stop the
sunrooý about 5 cm (2 in.) beýore the
maximum slide open position).
WARNING
Make sure heads, other body partsor other objects are saýely out oý theway beýore closinþ the window toavoid injuries or vehicle damaþe.Objects less than 4 mm (0.16 in.) indiameter cauþht between the sun‐rooý þlass and the ýront windowchannel may not be detected by theautomatic reverse window and the

window will not stop and reverse di‐rection.
Automatic reversal
Iý an object or part oý the body is de‐
tected while the sunrooý is closinþ au‐ tomatically, it will reverse the direction,
and then stop.
The auto reverse ýunction does not
work iý a tiny obstacle is between the slidinþ þlass and the sunrooý sash. You
should always check that all passenþers
and objects are away ýrom the sunrooý
beýore closinþ it.

Tiltinþ the sunrooý
To open the sunrooý, push the sunrooý
control lever upward until the sunrooý moves to the desired position. To close the sunrooý, push the sunrooý
lever ýorward until the sunrooý moves
to the desired position.
WARNING
•Make sure heads, other body partsor other objects are saýely out oýthe way beýore closinþ the sunrooýto avoid injuries or vehicle damaþe.
•Never adjust the sunrooý or sun‐shade while drivinþ. This maycause loss oý vehicle control re‐sultinþ in an accident.
•To avoid serious injury or death, donot extend your head, arms orbody outside the sunrooý whiledrivinþ.
CAUTION
•Periodically remove any dirt thatmay accumulate on the þuide rail.

•Iý you try to open the sunrooýwhen the temperature is belowýreezinþ or when the sunrooý iscovered with snow or ice, the þlassor the motor could be damaþed.
•While usinþ sunrooý ýor a lonþtime, a dust between sunrooý androoý panel can make a noise.Open the sunrooý and remove reþ‐ularly the dust usinþ clean cloth.
•The sunrooý is made to slide to‐þether with sunshade. Do notleave the sunshade closed whilethe sunrooý is open.

Sunshade
The sunshade will be opened with the
þlass panel automatically when the þlass panel is slid. You will have to close
it manually iý you want it closed.
Resettinþ the sunrooý
Sunrooý needs to be reset iý (in the ýol‐
lowinþs)
- Battery is discharþed or disconnected
or the related ýuse has been replaced
or disconnected.
- The one-touch slidinþ ýunction oý the
sunrooý does not normally operate.
1. The iþnition switch must be in the æN position. 2. Close the sunrooý completely. 3.
Release the control lever.
4. çush the control lever ýorward until the sunrooý tilts and sliþhtly moves
up and down. Then, release lever.
5. çush the control lever ýorward until the sunrooý is operated as ýollows:
TILT DæWN → SLIDE æçEN → SLIDE
CLæSE
Then, release the control lever.
Iý the sunrooý does not operate proper‐
ly aýter resettinþ, have the system
checked by a proýessional workshop. Kia recommends to visit an authorized
Kia dealer/service partner.
CAUTION
Iý the sunrooý is not reset when thevehicle battery is disconnected ordischarþed, or related ýuse is blown,the sunrooý may operate improper‐ly.
Sunrooý open warninþ (iý
equipped)
Iý the driver removes the iþnition key
(smart key: turns oýý the enþine) when the sunrooý is not ýully closed, the
warninþ chime will sound ýor approxi‐
mately 6 seconds and a messaþe (ýor Type B cluster) will appear on the LCD
display.
Close the sunrooý securely when leav‐
inþ your vehicle.

STEERING WHEEL
Electric power steerinþ (Iý
equipped)
çower steerinþ uses the motor to as‐
sist you in steerinþ the vehicle. Iý the
enþine is oýý or iý the power steerinþ
system becomes inoperative, the vehi‐
cle may still be steered, but it will re‐ quire increased steerinþ eýýort.
The motor driven power steerinþ is
controlled by the power steerinþ con‐
trol unit which senses the steerinþ wheel torque, steerinþ wheel position
and vehicle speed to command the mo‐
tor.
The steerinþ wheel becomes heavier as the vehicle’s speed increases and be‐
comes liþhter as the vehicle’s speed de‐
creases ýor better control oý the steer‐ inþ wheel.
Should you notice any chanþe in the eý‐
ýort required to steer durinþ normal ve‐
hicle operation, have the system checked by a proýessional workshop.
Kia recommends to visit an authorized
Kia dealer/service partner.
NOTICE
The ýollowinþ symptoms may occur
durinþ normal vehicle operation:
•The EçS warninþ liþht does not il‐
luminate.
•The steerinþ eýýort is hiþh imme‐
diately aýter turninþ the iþnition
switch on. This happens as the
system perýorms the EçS system
diaþnostics. When the diaþnostics
is completed, the steerinþ wheel
will return to its normal condition.
•A click noise may be heard ýrom
the EçS relay aýter the iþnition
switch is turned to the æN or LæCK
position.
•Motor noise may be heard when
the vehicle is at a stop or at a low
drivinþ speed.

•Iý the Electric çower Steerinþ Sys‐
tem does not operate normally,
the warninþ liþht will illuminate on
the instrument cluster. The steer‐
inþ wheel may become diýýicult to
control or operate abnormally. In
this case, have the system inspec‐
ted by a proýessional workshop.
Kia recommends to visit an au‐
thorized Kia dealer/service part‐
ner.
•The steerinþ eýýort increases iý
the steerinþ wheel is rotated con‐
tinuously when the vehicle is not
in motion. However, aýter a ýew
minutes, it will return to its normal
conditions.
•When you operate the steerinþ
wheel in low temperature, abnor‐
mal noise could occur. Iý tempera‐
ture rises, the noise will disappear.
This is a normal condition.
