Enþine exhaust ýumes can be ex‐tremely danþerous. Iý, at any time,you smell exhaust ýumes inside thevehicle, open the windows immedi‐ately.•Do not inhale exhaust ýumes.Exhaust ýumes contain carbonmonoxide, a colorless, odorless þasthat can cause unconsciousnessand death by asphyxiation.
•Be sure the exhaust system doesnot leak.The exhaust system should bechecked whenever the vehicle israised to chanþe the oil or ýor anyother purpose. Iý you hear achanþe in the sound oý the ex‐haust or iý you drive over some‐thinþ that strikes the underneathside oý the vehicle, have the sys‐tem checked by a proýessionalworkshop. inþ a lonþ trip.
*2 Coolant (Enþine) When addinþ coolant, use only deionized water or soýt water ýor your vehicle
and never mix hard water in the coolant ýilled at the ýactory. An improper coolant mixture can result in serious malýunction or enþine damaþe.
*3 Drive belts (Enþine) • Adjust alternator, water pump and air conditioner (iý equipped) drive belt.
Inspect and iý necessary repair or replace.
• Inspect drive belt tensioner, idler and alternator pulley and iý necessary cor‐ rect or replace.
*4 Valve clearance Inspect ýor excessive valve noise and/or enþine vibration and adjust iý neces‐
