(Leave the bott\be sea\b intact. Screwing the bott\be
onto the bott\be ho\bder wi\b\b pierce the sea\b o\f the
bott\be.)
4. Remove the cap o\f the tire va\bve on the \f\bat tire.

screw the hose secure\by onto the tire va\bve. Make
sure that the pressure re\bease va\bve

secure\by tightened. Make sure that the air com-
pressor switch is in the OFF (
) position, and
then insert its power p\bug into the power out\bet in
the vehic\be.

6. 6. Push the ignition switch to the “ACC” position. Then turn the compressor switch to the ON (í)
position and in\f\bate the tire up to the pressure that
is speci\fied on the tire p\bacard a\f\fixed to the
driver’s side center pi\b\bar i\f possib\be, or to the
minimum o\f 180 kPa (26 psi) . Turn the air
compressor o\f\f brie\f\by in order to check the tire
pressure with the pressure gauge.
I\f the tire is in\f\bated to higher than the speci\fied
pressure, adjust the tire pressure by re\beasing air
with the pressure re\bease va\bve. The co\bd tire
pressures are shown on the tire p\bacard a\f\fixed to
the driver’s side center pi\b\bar.
CAUTION:
.An incomplete connection between the hose
and tire valve causes air leakage or sealant
scatter.
. Do not stand directly beside the damaged
tire while it is being inflated because of the
risk of the rupture. If there are any cracks or
bumps, turn the compressor off immedi-
ately. .
There is a possibility that the pressure
reaches 600 kPa while the tire is being
inflated, but it is normal condition. Usually
the pressure will drop in about 30 seconds.
. Do not operate the compressor for more
than 10 minutes.
If the tire pressure does not increase to 180 kPa
(26 psi) within 10 minutes, the tire may be
seriously damaged and the tire cannot be
repaired with this tire repair kit. Contact a
RENAULT dealer.
7. When the tire pressure is reaching the speci\fied pressure or is at the minimum o\f 180 kPa (26 psi) ,
turn the air compressor o\f\f. Remove the power
p\bug \from the power out\bet and quick\by remove the
hose \from the tire va\bve. Attach the protective cap
and va\bve cap.
CAUTION:
Leave the tire sealant bottle on the bottle holder
in order to prevent sealant from spilling out.
8. Immediate\by drive the vehic\be \for 10 minutes or 3km (2 mi\bes) at a speed o\f 80 km/h (50 MPH) or
\bess.
9. 9. A\fter driving, make sure that the air compressor switch is in the OFF position, then screw the hose
secure\by onto the tire va\bve. Check the tire
pressure with the pressure gauge. The temporary
repair is comp\beted i\f the tire pressure does not
drop.
Make sure the pressure is adjusted to the
pressure that is speci\fied on the tire p\bacard
be\fore driving.

10. If the tire pressure drops, repe\ft the steps from 5.If the pressure drops \fg\fi\b or u\bder 130 kP\f (19
psi) , the tire c\f\b\bot be rep\fired with this tire rep\fir
kit. Co\bt\fct \f RENAULT de\fler.
CAUTION:
Do not reuse the tire sealant bottle or the hose.
For a new tire sealant bottle and hose, see a
RENAULT dealer.

WARNING:
.Incorrect jump starting can lead to a battery
explosion. The battery explosion may result
in severe injury or death. It may also result in
damage to the vehicle. Be sure to follow the
instructions in this section.
. Explosive hydrogen gas is always present in
the vicinity of the battery. Keep all sparks
and flames away from the battery.
. Always wear suitable eye protection and
remove rings, bracelets, and any other jew-
elry whenever working on or near a battery.
. Never lean over the battery while jump
starting.
. Never allow battery fluid to come into
contact with eyes, skin, clothes or the
vehicle’s painted surfaces. Battery fluid is a
corrosive sulfuric acid which can cause
severe burns. If the fluid comes into contact
with anything, immediately flush the con-
tacted area with plenty of water.
. Keep the battery out of the reach of children.
. The booster battery must be rated at 12
volts. Use of an incorrectly rated battery will
damage your vehicle.
. Never attempt to jump start a frozen battery.
It could explode and cause serious injury.

1. If the booster battery is in another vehicle*B,
\fosition the two vehicles*Aand*Bto bring the
batteries into close \fro\bimity to each other.
CAUTION:
If the battery of vehicle*Aequipped with the
Intelligent Key system is discharged, the ignition
switch cannot be moved from the “LOCK”
position and, if the steering lock is engaged,
the steering wheel cannot be moved. Connect
the jumper cables to the booster vehicle
*Bbefore turning the ignition switch and disenga-
ging the steering lock.

3. Automatic Transmission (AT)/Continuously Vari- able Transmission (CVT) model: Move the selector
lever to the “P” (Park) \fosition.
Manual Transmission (MT) model: Move the shift
lever to the “N” (Neutral) \fosition.
4. Switch off all unnecessary electrical systems (headlights, heater, air conditioner, etc.) .
5. Turn the ignition switch to the “LOCK” \fosition.
6. Remove the vent ca\fs, if equi\f\fed, on the battery.
7. Cover the battery with a firmly wrung out moist cloth to reduce the hazard of an e\b\flosion.
8. Connect the jum\fer cables in the sequence as illustrated (
*1,*2,*3,*4).
CAUTION:
.Always connect positive +to positive +and
negative 7to body ground, NOT to the
battery’s negative 7. .
Be sure that the jumper cables do not touch
moving parts in the engine compartment.
. Be sure that the jumper cable’s clamps do
not contact any other metal.
9. Start the engine of the booster vehicle
*Band let
it run for a few minutes.
10. De\fress the accelerator \fedal of the booster vehicle
*Bat about 2,000 r\fm.
11. Start the engine of the jum\fed vehicle
*Ain the
normal manner.
CAUTION:
. Never keep the starter motor engaged for
more than 10 seconds. If the engine does not
start right away, turn the ignition switch
“OFF” and wait at least 10 seconds before
trying again.
. If the starter motor does not start by pushing
the ignition switch, push the ignition switch
to the OFF position before trying again.
12. After the engine is started, carefully disconnect the jum\fer cables in the o\f\fosite sequence from
that illustrated (
*4,*3,*2,*1).
13. Remove and dis\fose of the cloth as it may be contaminated with corrosive acid.
14. Re\flace the vent ca\fs, if removed.
NOTE:
. For model with Stop/Start (Idling Stop)
System, use the special battery that is
enhanced in regard to the charge-discharge
capacity and life performance. Avoid using a
non-special battery for the Stop/Start (Idling
Stop) system, as this may cause early deterioration of the battery or a malfunction
of the Stop/Start (Idling Stop) system. For
the battery, it is recommended to use
Genuine RENAULT parts. For more informa-
tion, contact a RENAULT dealer.
. For model with Stop/Start (Idling Stop)
System, it may take some time until Stop/
Start (Idling Stop) System activates when
the battery is replaced or the battery term-
inal is disconnected for extended periods
and then reconnected.

Do not attempt to start the engine by p\fshing the
vehicle\b
CAUTION:
.Automatic Transmission (AT)/Continuously
Variable Transmission (CVT) model cannot
be started by pushing. Attempting to do so
may cause damage to the transmission.
. Three-way catalyst equipped model should
not be started by pushing. Attempting to do
so may cause damage to the catalyst.
. Never try to start the engine by towing.
When the engine starts, the forward surge
could cause the vehicle to collide with the
towing vehicle.
. Stop/Start (Idling Stop) System equipped
model cannot be started by pushing the
vehicle.
WARNING:
.Never continue driving if your vehicle over-
heats. Doing so could cause a vehicle fire.
. Never open the hood if steam is coming out.
. Never remove the radiator cap while the
engine is hot. If the radiator cap is removed
when the engine is hot, pressurized hot
water will spurt out and possibly cause
burning, scalding or serious injury.
. If steam or coolant is coming from the
engine, stand clear of the vehicle to prevent
getting burned.
. Be careful not to allow your hands, hair,
jewelry or clothing to come into contact with,
or to get caught in the cooling fan or drive
belts. The engine cooling fan will start at any
time.
If yo\fr vehicle is overheating (indicated by the high
temperat\fre indicator) , or if yo\f feel a lack of engine
power, detect \fn\fs\fal noise, etc\b, take the following
steps:
1\b Safely move the vehicle off the road away from traffic\b
2\b T\frn on the hazard indicator flasher lights\b
3\b Apply the parking brake\b
4\b A\ftomatic Transmission (AT)/Contin\fo\fsly Vari- able Transmission (CVT) model: Move the selector
lever to the “P” (Park) position\b
Man\fal Transmission (MT) model: Move the shift
lever to the “N” (Ne\ftral) position\b
DO NOT STOP THE ENGINE . 5\b Open all windows\b

control to maxim\fm hot and fan control to
maxim\fm speed\b

8\b Vis\fally inspect and listen for steam or coolant escaping from the radiator before opening the

before proceeding\b

10\b Vis\fally inspect if the cooling fan is r\fnning\b
11\b Vis\fally inspect the radiator and radiator hoses for leakage\b
If the cooling fan is not r\fnning or the coolant is
leaking, stop the engine\b
12\b After the engine cools down, check the coolant level in the reservoir with the engine r\fnning\b Do
not open the radiator cap.
13\b Add coolant to the reservoir if necessary\b

da\fage your vehicle. To assure proper towing and to
prevent accidental da\fage to your vehicle, RENAULT
reco\f\fends that you have professional road assis-
tance personnel tow your vehicle. \bt is advisable to
have the professional road assistant carefully read the
following precautions.
TOW\bNG PRECAUT\bONS
.Be sure that the trans\fission, steering syste\f and
powertrain are in working condition before towing.
\bf any units are da\faged, the vehicle \fust be
towed using a dolly or flatbed tow truck.
. RENAULT reco\f\fends that your vehicle be
towed with the driving (front) wheels off the
ground.

under the front wheels when towing your vehicle or the
vehicle be placed on a flatbed tow truck as illustrated.
Front wheels on the ground:
CAUTION:
Never tow Automatic Transmission (AT)/Con-
tinuously Variable Transmission (CVT) model
with the front wheels on the ground. Doing so
will cause serious and expensive damage to the
drivetrain.

2. Secure \bhe s\beering wheel in a s\braigh\b-aheadposi\bion wi\bh rope or a similar device.
3. Move \bhe shif\b lever \bo \bhe “N” (Neu\bral) posi\bion.
4. Release \bhe parking brake.
5. A\b\bach safe\by chains whenever \bowing.
Rear wheels on the ground:
1. Place \bhe igni\bion swi\bch \bo \bhe “OFF” posi\bion.
2. Secure \bhe s\beering wheel in a s\braigh\b-ahead posi\bion wi\bh rope or a similar device.
3. Move \bhe shif\b lever \bo \bhe “N” (Neu\bral) posi\bion.

All four wheels on the ground:
CAUTION:
Never tow AT/CVT model with all four wheels on
the ground. Doing so will cause serious and
expensive damage to the transmission.
Manual Transmission (MT) model\f
1. Place \bhe igni\bion swi\bch in \bhe “OFF” posi\bion.
2. Move \bhe shif\b lever \bo \bhe “N” (Neu\bral) posi\bion.
3. Release \bhe parking brake.
Freeing \brapped vehicle
WARNING:
. Never allow anyone to stand near the towing
line during the pulling operation.
. Never spin the tires at high speed. This could
cause them to explode and result in serious
injury. Parts of the vehicle could also over-
heat and be damaged.
. Do not pull the vehicle using the rear hook.
The rear hook is not designed to pull the
vehicle out in the event that the vehicle
becomes trapped.
In \bhe even\b \bha\b your vehicle’s \bires become \brapped in
sand, snow, or mud, and \bhe vehicle is unable \bo free
i\bself wi\bhou\b being pulled, use \bhe recovery hooks.
. Use \bhe recovery hooks only. Do no\b a\b\bach \bhe
pulling device \bo any o\bher par\b of \bhe vehicle body.
O\bherwise, \bhe vehicle body may be damaged.
. Use \bhe recovery hooks \bo free a vehicle only.
Never \bow a vehicle using only \bhe recovery hooks.
. The recovery hooks are under \bremendous s\bress
when used \bo free a \brapped vehicle. Always pull
