automatically register the mobile phone and the audio

then start the procedure, previously described, again
or consult the owner’s manual o\b your mobile phone.
You can register up to 5 di\b\berent Bluetooth
Šmobile
phones. However, you can only use one mobile phone
at a time. I\b you have 5 di\b\berent Bluetooth
Šmobile
phones registered, a new mobile phone can only
replace one o\b the 5 existing paired phones. Use DEL
\fHONE to delete one o\b the existing paired phones.

The paired phone list shows which phones have been
paired or registered with the BluetoothŠsystem. I\b the
list contains multiple phones then you can select the
appropriate phone to connect with the Bluetooth

Delete a name:
To delete a name (contact) from the phone book,
proceed as follows:
1. Briefly push the
button.
2. Turn the MENU/VOL dial then select the DELETE N\fME.
3. \bush the ENTER button.
4. Turn the MENU/VOL dial to the name that needs to be deleted then push the ENTER button.
5. The display will show DELETE? YES. If applicable, turn the MENU/VOL dial to select DELETE? NO.
6. The display will show the message DELETED.
The search mode can also be performed as follows:
1. Briefly push the
button.
2. SE\fRCH appears on the display then push the ENTER button.
3. Select the first character of the name then push the ENTER button.
4. The display will now show the name(s) beginning with the corresponding character. If necessary,
turn the MENU/VOL dial to select the correct
name.
5. \bush the ENTER button and the display will show DELETE? YES. If applicable, turn the MENU/VOL
dial to select DELETE? NO. 6. To confirm the selection, push the ENTER button.
Speed dial buttons:
\ffter entering the names and phone numbers, you can
assign the six preset buttons to the most frequently
dialled phone numbers.
1. \bush the

2. Select the name by turning the MENU/VOL dial or using the search name mode.
3. Once found, push the assigned preset button until a confirmation beep is heard. The name and phone
number are now stored under that button.
Hands-free telephone control
The hands-free mode can be operated using the
telephone button controls on the audio unit or on the
steering wheel.
Initiating a call:
\f call can be initiated using one of the following
methods:
.redial
. phone book
. voice tag
. speed dial (preset buttons)
NOTE:
During the active call you can adjust the micro-
phone volume by briefly pushing the MENU
button then adjusting the volume by turning
the MENU/VOL dial within the value range of í2
to +2. To confirm the entry, briefly push the
ENTER or
button or wait for 10 seconds to
return to the active call main screen.

Redial:
Use the redial mode to call the last num\fer that was
dialled.
1. \briefly push the
\futton.
2. Select REDIAL.
3. Push the ENTER or the
\futton to redial the
last num\fer.
Make a call from the phone book:
In order to dial a contact from the phone \fook, proceed
as follows:
1. Push the
\futton.
2. Turn the MENU/VOL dial and select the corre- spondent name.
3. Push the ENTER or the
\futton in order to dial
the num\fer.
Alternatively, you can use the search mode as follows:
1. \briefly push the
\futton.
2. SEARCH appears on the display then push the ENTER \futton.
3. Select the first character of the name then the ENTER \futton.
4. The name should \fe displayed. If necessary, turn the MENU/VOL dial to select the
correct name.
5. Push the ENTER or
\futton in order to dial the
num\fer.
Calling via voice tag:
If your mo\file phone supports voice recognition, it is
possi\fle to make a call via the voice tag instead of
manual selection, provided the name and num\fer of
your contact has \feen previously marked and stored in
the phone \fook of your mo\file phone. For details, see the mo\file phone manufacturer’s owner’s manual.
In order to dial via a voice tag, proceed as follows:
1. Push the
\futton for more than 2 seconds.
2. The display shows SPEAK NOW.
3. Give your voice tag. Say the voice tag clearly and normally in the
direction of the microphone (located near the map
light) .
4. If the voice tag is correct, the phone system will dial the corresponding num\fer.
Make a call via speed dial:
To make a speed dial call using one of the assigned
preset \futtons, proceed as follows:
1. \briefly push the
\futton.
2. Push the corresponding preset \futton (1-6) . Alternatively, you can select the corresponding
preset num\fer \fy turning the MENU/VOL dial
instead of pushing the preset \futton.
3. To confirm the selection, push the
\futton to
make the call.
Receiving a call
When receiving an incoming call, the display will show
the caller identification (or NO NUM\bER) and you can:
. answer the call \fy \friefly pushing the
\futton.
. end the call after the conversation \fy pushing the
\futton.
. reject the call \fy pushing the
\futton.

controls on the steering wheel.
Volume control switch:
The volume control switch allows you to adjust the
volume of the speakers \fy pushing the + or í\futtons

during the incoming call.

The microphone is located near the map light.
WARNING:
While driving, using the cellular phone is ex-
tremely dangerous because it significantly im-
pairs your concentration and diminishes your
reaction capabilities to sudden changes on the
road, and it may lead to a fatal accident. This
applies to all phone call situations such as when
receiving an incoming call, during a phone
conversation, when calling through the phone
book search, etc.
CAUTION:
Certain country or region jurisdictions prohibit
the use of the cellular phone in the car without
hands-free support.
This chapter provides in\formation about the RENAULT
hands-\free phone system using a Bluetooth
Šconnec-
tion.
Bluetooth
Šis a wireless radio communication stan-
dard. This system o\f\fers a hands-\free \feature \for your
cellular phone to enhance driving com\fort.
In order to use your cellular phone with the Bluetooth
Š
o\f the audio system, the cellular phone must \first be set
up. Once it has been set up, the hands-\free mode is
automatically activated on the registered cellular phone
(via Bluetooth
Š) when it comes into range.
A noti\fication message appears on the audio display
when the phone is connected, when an incoming call
is being received, as well as when a call is initiated.
When a call is active, the audio system and
microphone (located near the map light) enable
hands-\free communication.
I\f the audio system is in use at the time, the radio, CD,
or AUX source mode will be muted and will stay muted
until the active call has ended.
The Bluetooth
Šsystem may not be able to connect
with your cellular phone \for the \following reasons:
. The cellular phone is too \far away \from the vehicle.
. The Bluetooth
Šmode on the cellular phone has
not been activated.
. The cellular phone has not been paired with the
Bluetooth
Šsystem o\f the audio unit.
. The cellular phone does not support BluetoothŠ
technology (BT Core v1.2, \bands Free Pro\file v1.0
and Object Push Pro\file v1.0) . NOTE:
For details, see the cellular phone’s owner’s
manual.
\bands-\free phone setup
To set up the BluetoothŠsystem to pair with (connect
or register) a pre\ferred cellular phone, push the
button, select the BluetoothŠkey, and then push the
TUNE/MENU/ENTER dial. It is also possible to display
the set up menu directly by pushing the
button.

system. A maximum o\f 5 cellular phones can be
registered.

be displayed. During the connection the \following

Making a call
The hands-free m\fde can be \fperated \bsing theb\btt\fn \fn the a\bdi\f system.
Initiating a call:

Redial:

Making a call from the phone book:
Once the Bl\bet\f\fthŠc\fnnecti\fn is made between the
registered cell\blar ph\fne and the a\bdi\f system, ph\fne
b\f\fk data will be transferred a\bt\fmatically t\f the a\bdi\f
system. The transfer may take a while bef\fre c\fmple-
ti\fn.
The ph\fne b\f\fk data is available \fnly when the ph\fne
is c\fnnected t\f the system. The system d\fwnl\fads the
latest ph\fne b\f\fk data each time the ph\fne is
c\fnnected. T\f dial a c\fntact fr\fm the ph\fne b\f\fk pr\fceed as
f\fll\fws:
1. P\bsh the

4. A screen will sh\fw the n\bmber t\f be dialled. If c\frrect, p\bsh the TUNE/MENU/ENTER dial again
t\f dial the n\bmber.
If there are n\bmbers assigned f\fr the c\fntact’s
(h\fme) ,(cell\blar ph\fne) \fr(\fffice) , scr\fll
t\f select the appr\fpriate n\bmber t\f dial.
Alternatively, the q\bick search m\fde can be \bsed as
f\fll\fws:
1. P\bsh the
b\btt\fn.
2. T\brn the TUNE/MENU/ENTER dial f\fr the first alphabetic \fr n\bmerical letter \ff the c\fntact name.
Once highlighted, p\bsh the TUNE/MENU/ENTER
dial t\f select the letter.
3. The display will sh\fw the c\frresp\fnding c\fntact name(s) . Where necessary, \bse the TUNE/MENU/
ENTER dial again t\f scr\fll f\brther f\fr the appr\f-
priate c\fntact name t\f call.
4. A screen will sh\fw the n\bmber t\f be dialled. If c\frrect, p\bsh the TUNE/MENU/ENTER dial again
t\f dial the n\bmber.
Manually dialling a phone number:
WARNING:
Park the vehicle in a safe location, and apply the
parking brake before making a call.

display (virt\bal keyb\fard pad) as f\fll\fws:
1. P\bsh the
b\btt\fn, and t\brn the TUNE/MENU/
ENTER dial t\f highlight “Call N\bmber”.
2. P\bsh the TUNE/MENU/ENTER dial t\f select “Call N\bmber”.
3. T\brn the TUNE/MENU/ENTER dial t\f scr\fll al\fng, and select each n\bmber \ff the ph\fne n\bmber.
Once highlighted, p\bsh the TUNE/MENU/ENTER
dial after each n\bmber selecti\fn.
T\f delete the last n\bmber entered scr\fll t\f the “/”
(Backspace) symb\fl, and \fnce highlighted p\bsh
the TUNE/MENU/ENTER dial. The last n\bmber will
be deleted. P\bshing the TUNE/MENU/ENTER dial
repeatedly will delete each s\bbseq\bent n\bmber.
4. After entering the last n\bmber, scr\fll t\f the “
