Diagnostic – Damage location algorithm
RECOMMENDATIONSNothing to notice
Check the tester operation on another vehicle
Check: - Connection between CLIP tester and the diagnostic socket (cable i n good condition).
- Cockpit and engine compartment fuses.
Check presence +12 volts before c ontact at pin 16 , + 12 volts after contact at pin 1
and mass at pins 4 and 5 of the di agnostic socket
Fix if necessary
Check the computer connection.
Connect the m ulti-socket and c heck the insulation, continuity and absence of parasite
resistance at connections: UCH connector P1 pin A1 mass
UCH connector P1 pin A3 fuse box + 12 volts before contact
UCH connector EH1 pin B34 pin 7 diagnostic socket (line K)
Fix if necessary.

Airbag - General
IMPORTANT!
All intervention on the airbag system
may be performed only by qualified staff.
The Dacia SOLENZ A vehi c les a re
equipped with a pa ssive securi ty system
composed of: -a driver frontal airbag with an inflata bl e
bag, -UCE airba g mounted in t he c entral
console tunnel.
In case of a front impact strong e nough,
theUCE airbag is releasing the airbag, which
is inflating in the steering wheel central part,
protecting in this way the driver’s face. The airbag is not reacting at decelerations
in t he dri ving di rection. A side impact or a
rollover may not lead to the airbag releasing. The vehicle projection energy is
transformed i nto distort ion energy of the
vehicle front part. The higher deceleration is,
the smaller vehicle distortion is, and the airbag
is quicker releasing.
The minimal speed at which the airbag is
releasing is increasing, a s the i mpact angle
between the vehicles is higher. If in case of a front al impact there are no
distortions in front of the front pedals support or
engine-frame impact, non-releasing of the airbag
is not to be considered an operation incident,
the releasing speed not being reached. By e xpe ri e nce, t he spe edome ter i s not
showing correctly the impact speed, this being,
generally, smaller t han the cruising speed had
before the impact.
A vehicle equipped with driver airbag is to be
identified by the marking “Airbag” from the
steering wheel pillow and a sticker placed on the
windscre en left side.
AT T E N T I ON !
Because the UCE airbag, steering wheel
airbag and the shock sensor are containing
se nsitive components, t hese are t o be shock-
proofed during their handling.
At every windscreen replacement, the sticker
mentioning that vehicle is equipped with airbag
is to be placed on the windscreen.

ELECTRIC DIAGRAMS
89 - 2
The fuse box from the engine compartment is presented in Chapter 9, that contains information
about its location on the vehicle and the functional purpose of the relays and fuse placed on it.
The functional codes of the wires are detailed explained in Chapter 12. FUNCTIONAL DIAGRAMS INTERPRETATION
The functional diagram information included in Chapter 7 are to be i nterpreted taking i nto
consideration the explanation referring to the following example:
1= vehicle class
2= manufacturing year
3= functional electric diagram denomination
4= equipment differentiation criteria for identifying the functional electric diagram ˙
5= electric connector colour ˝
6= connector graphical representation
7= electric component index number
8= number of the fuse box on which the relay or safety fuse is m ounted
9= safety fuse identification on fuse box
10 = safety fuse value
11 = identification of wiring joints
12 = electric mass identification
13 = electric connection colour between wiring ˝

OBSERVATION:
1. The area ( 4) specifies the differentiating elements serving to the various functional diagrams
identification, considering the following symbols:
ABCO01 = driver’s airbag
CA = climate maintenance with air conditioning
CHAUFO = climate maintenance without air conditioning
CPE = Electric locking/unlock ing doors control
DA = assisted power steering
E0, E1, E2 = levels of equipment
