Disconnect the sensor connector.
d. Measure the resistance between terminals 1 (HT) and 2 (+B).

If the result is not as specified, replace the sensor.

a. Visually check the charcoal canister for cracks or damage.
If cracks or damage are found, replace the canister.

ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION
1.INSPECTION THROTTLE BODY
a. Inspect the throttle control motor for operating sound.
1. Turn the ignition switch ON.
2. When turning the accelerator pedal position sensor lever, check the running sound of the
motor. The motor should be running smoothly without friction sounds.
If operation is not as specified, check the throttle control motor, wiring and ECM (see DTC P2118:
THROTTLE ACTUATOR CONTROL MOTOR CURRENT RANGE/PERFORMANCE ).

b. Inspect the throttle position sensor.

1.DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT (See ENGINE COOLANT

2.REMOVE V-BANK COVER
a. Remove the 2 nuts and V-
bank cover.

k. Disconnect the 2 wire clamps on the engine wire (RH side) from the brackets on the RH delivery
pipe.
l. Remove the 2 bolts, and disconnect the engine wire protector (rear side) from the rear water bypass
joint and RH cylinder head.
m. Disconnect the 8 injector connectors.

n. Remove the 6 bolts, 4 nuts, the upper and lower intake manifolds assembly and 2 gaskets.
