24. REMOVE REAR CONSOLE BOX
(a) w/ Rear heater A/C:
Using a screwdriver, remove the rear heater control pan-
el, then disconnect the connector.
HINT:
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
(b) w/ Headphone terminal.
Using a screwdriver, remove the headphone terminal and
the connector.
(c) w/ Rear seat entertainment:
(1) Remove the disc bracket.
(2) Remove the 3 bolts and disc player.
(3) Disconnect the connector.
(d) Remove the 4 bolts and rear console box.
25. REMOVE CONSOLE BOX BEZEL
(a) Using a screwdriver, remove the console box bezel.
HINT:
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
(b) Disconnect the connectors.
26. REMOVE FRONT CONSOLE BOX
Remove the 2 bolts, 2 clips and front console box.
27. REMOVE LOWER INSTRUMENT COVER
(a) Remove the 4 bolts and 3 screws.
(b) Using a screwdriver, remove the lower instrument cover.
HINT:
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
28. REMOVE PASSENGER AIRBAG ASSEMBLY
(a) Remove the 2 bolts holding the front passenger airbag
assembly and instrument panel.
Torque: 5.0 N´m (51 kgf´cm, 44 in.´lbf)

24. REMOVE REAR WINDOW SIDE GARNISH
(a) Remove the rear window side garnish.
(b) Use the same manner described above to the other side.
25. w/ Sliding roof:
REMOVE MAP LIGHT
(a) Using a screwdriver, remove the lens.
HINT:
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
(b) Remove the 2 screws and map light, then disconnect the
connector.
26. w/ Rear seat entertainment:
REMOVE INFORATION DISPLAY
(a) Remove the 2 lenses.
(b) Remove the 2 screws and display panel, then disconnect
the connector.
(c) Remove the 4 dolts and multi information display, then
disconnect the connector.
27. w/ Electro chrmic inner rear view mirror:
REMOVE MIRROR COVER
28. w/ Sliding roof:
REMOVE ROOF CONSOLE BOX
(a) Remove the 2 screws.
(b) Using a screwdriver, remove the roof console box.
HINT:
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
(c) Disconnect the connector.

BAL: Adjusts the sound balance between
the right and left speakers. The display
ranges from L7 to R7.
DISC (Compact disc)
Push the ªDISCº button to play a compact
disc.
When the audio system is set into com-
pact disc operation, the display shows the
track, or track and disc number currently
being played.
Vehicles with rear seat entertainment sys-
temÐ
The ªDISCº button may also be used to
operate a DVD player when a disc is
loaded in the DVD player. Pressing the
ªDISCº button changes between the CD
player and DVD player. When the DVD
player is in operation, ªAUXº appears on
the display.
Error messages
If the player malfunctions, your audio sys-
tem will display one of the four following
error messages.
ªWAITº: The compact disc player unit
may be too hot. Allow the player to cool
down.
ªERROR 1º: The disc may be dirty, dam-
aged or inserted incorrectly (up±side
down). Clean the disc and re±insert it.ªERROR 3º: There is a problem inside
the system. Eject the disc or magazine.
Set the disc or magazine again.
ªERROR 4º: Over±current. Ask your
Toyota dealer to inspect.
If the malfunction still exists, take your
vehicle to your Toyota dealer.
Dolby
B NR*
If you are listening to a tape that was
recorded with Dolby B Noise Reduction,
push ª
º (preset button 3). ªº will
appear on the display. Push the button
again to turn off Dolby B NR.
The Dolby NR mode reduces tape noise
by about 10 dB. For best sound reproduc-
tion, play your tapes with this button on
or off according to the mode used to re-
cord the tape.

FM
Push the ªFMº button to turn on the radio
and select the FM band. ªFM1º or ªFM2º
will appear on the display. This system
allows you to set twelve FM stations, two
for each of the preset button.PWR´VOL (Power and Volume)
Push ªPWR´VOLº to turn the audio system
on and off. Turn ªPWR´VOLº to adjust the
volume.
RAND (Random)
Push ª
º to listen the tracks on the
disc in random order. ª
º will ap-
pear on the display. The disc you are
listening to will play in random order. To
turn off the random feature, push this but-
ton again.
RPT (Repeat)
Cassette player
Push ªRPTº (preset button 2) while the
track is playing. ª
º will appear on
the display. When the track ends, it will
automatically rewind and replay. To turn
off the repeat feature, push this button
again.
There must be at least 3 seconds of blank
space between tracks in order for the re-
peat feature to work correctly.

Compact disc player
Use this button to skip up or down to a
different track.
Push ª
º or ªº side of the ªSEEK/
TRACKº button until the number of the
track you want to listen to appears on the
display. If you want to return to the begin-
ning of the current track, quickly push the
down side of the button one time.
Vehicles with rear seat entertainment sys-
temÐ
While the DVD player is in operation, the
chapter or track can be changed by push-
ing the ª
º or ªº side of the ªSEEK/
TRACKº button.
ST (Stereo reception) display
Your radio automatically changes to stereo
reception when a stereo broadcast is re-
ceived. ªSTº appears on the display. If the
signal becomes weak, the radio reduces
the amount of channel separation to prev-
ent the weak signal from creating noise.
If the signal becomes extremely weak, the
radio switches from stereo to mono recep-
tion.
TA P E
Push the ªTAPEº button to play a cassette
tape.TEXT
This button is used to change the display
for the compact disc that contains text
data.
To change the display, quickly push and
release the ªTEXTº button while the com-
pact disc is playing. The display changes
in the order from the elapsed time to disc
title to track title, then back to the
elapsed time.
If this button is pushed while a compact
disc that does not contain text data is
playing, ªNO TITLEº will appear on the
display.
If the entire disc or track title does not
appear on the display, push and hold the
button until you hear a beep. The rest of
the title will appear.
TUNE (Tuning)
Turn the ªTUNEº knob clockwise to step
up the frequency. Turn the knob counter-
clockwise to step down the frequency.

Compact disc player
Push and hold ª
º (preset button 6) or
ª
º (preset button 5) to fast forward or
reverse within a compact disc. When you
release the button, the compact disc play-
er will resume playing.
AM
Push the ªAMº button to turn on the radio
and select the AM band. ªAMº will appear
on the display.
AUDIO CONTROL (Tone and sound bal-
ance adjustment function)
Each time you push the ªAUDIO
CONTROLº knob, the mode changes. To
adjust the tone and balance, turn the
knob.
BAS: Adjusts low±pitched tones. The dis-
play ranges from ±5 to 5.
MID: Adjusts mid±pitched tones. The dis-
play ranges from ±5 to 5.
TRE: Adjusts high±pitched tones. The dis-
play ranges from ±5 to 5.
FAD: Adjusts the sound balance between
the front and rear speakers. The display
ranges from F7 to R7.BAL: Adjusts the sound balance between
the right and left speakers. The display
ranges from L7 to R7.
