Overview of climate control systems
Notes on climate control
An interior
Nlt er in combination with the preNlter
in the engine compartment must always be used
so that the air conditioning system, pollution level
monitoring and the air Nltration work correctly.
Use Nlters recommended and approved by
Mercedes-Benz. Always have maintenance work
carried out at a qualiNed specialist workshop. Overview of the air-conditioning control panel

The synchronisation function will be deactivated if

from the engine to continue heating or ventilating the front compartment of the vehicle for approx-

agrance system distributes a pleasant fra-
grance throughout the vehicle interior from a Oa-
con located in the glove box. 
Select AIR FRESHENER .
Keep pressing until the desired intensity is

Dispose of the genuine Mercedes-Benz interior
per
fume Oacon when it is empty and do not reNll
it.
ReNllable Oacon 
Unscrew the cap of the empty Oacon.
Fill the Oacon wit
h a maximum of 15 ml. 
Screw the cap back onto the Oacon.
Always r
eNll the empty reNllable Oacon with the
same perfume. Observe the separate information
sheet with the Oacon. Stationary heater/ventilation

tationary heater/stationary ventilation func-
tion
The following functions are performed:
= The air inside the vehicle is heated or ventila-
ted to the set temperature.
= The air inside the vehicle cannot be cooled
down to temperatures below the outside tem-
perature. =
If t
he outside temperature changes, ventilation
mode automatically switches to heating mode
or heating mode automatically switches to
ventilation mode.
The stationary heater and the exhaust gas outlet
are situated at the right-hand front wheel.

If the tailpipe is blocked or suPcient v
entila-
tion is not possible, poisonous exhaust gases
such as carbon monoxide may enter the vehi-
cle. This is the case in enclosed spaces or if
the vehicle gets stuck in snow, for example. 
Always switch the stationary heater oM in
enclosed spaces wit
hout an air extrac-
tion system, e.g. in garages. 
Keep the tailpipe and the area around
t

he vehicle free from snow when the
vehicle or the auxiliary heating is run-
ning. 
Open a door or a roof hatch on the wind-
w

ard side of the vehicle to ensure an
adequate supply of fresh air. &

When the stationary heater is switched

= Zero minutes: the running time for the station-
ary heater is extended because the engine has
not yet reached operating temperature when it
is started.

Batteries contain toxic and corrosive substan-
ces. If batt
eries are swallowed or otherwise
enter the body, severe internal burns can
occur within two hours.
There is a risk of fatal injury.
