Display messages
Introduction

qInformation about display messages
Display messages appear on the driver display.
Display messages with graphical symbols are sim-
pliNed in the Owner's Manual and may diMer from
the symbols on the driver display. The driver dis-
play shows high-priority display messages in red.
Certain display messages are accompanied by a
warning tone.
Please act in accordance with the display mes- sages and follow the additional notes in the Own-
er's Manual.
For some display messages, a symbol will also be
shown:

Components in the restraint system may be activated unintentionally or not deploy as intended in an accident.
Have the restraint system checked and repaired immediately at a qualiNed specialist workshop.

abled See Owner's Manual*The front passenger airbag has been disabled even though an adult or a person of adult build is on the front passenger
seat. If additional forces are applied to the seat, the weight the system detects may be too low.&WARNING !ä Risk of injury or even fatal injury when the front passenger airbag is disabled
If the front passenger airbag is disabled, It will not be deployed in the event of an accident and cannot perform its
intended protective function.
A person in the front passenger seat could then, for example, come into contact with the vehicle interior, especially if the person is sitting too close to the dashboard.
Be aware of the status of the front passenger airbag both before and during the journey.Stop the vehicle immediately in accordance with the traPc conditions.Make sure that no objects are trapped under the front passenger seat.Check the status of automatic front passenger airbag actuation (  page 46).If necessary, consult a qualiNed specialist workshop immediately.Front passenger airbag ena-
bled See Owner's Manual*The front passenger airbag will be enabled while the vehicle is in motion in the following situations:
= even when a child, a small adult or an object weighing less than the system weight threshold is located on the front
passenger seat
= even when the front passenger seat is not occupied

bled
If you secure a child in a child restraint system on the front passenger seat and the front passenger airbag is ena-
bled, the front passenger airbag can deploy in the event of an accident.
The child could be struck by the airbag.
Ensure, both before and during the journey, that the status of the front passenger airbag is correct.
NEVER use a rearward facing child restraint on a seat protected by an ACTIVE AIRBAG in front of it, DEATH or
SERIOUS INJURY to the CHILD can occur.
Stop the vehicle immediately in accordance with the traPc conditions.Make sure that no objects are trapped under the front passenger seat.Check the status of automatic front passenger airbag actuation (  page 46).If necessary, consult a qualiNed specialist workshop immediately.PRE-SAFE inoperative See
