::r ' Care and cleaning
General information
Regular, proper ca re helps to maintain your ve hi­
cle's value. It can a lso be a requirement when
submitting warranty claims fo r cor rosion damage
and pa int defects on the body.
The requ ired cleaning and care p roducts can be
obtained from an authorized Audi dea le r or au ­
thor iz ed Se rvice Facility . Read and follow the in ­
structions for use on the packaging .
A WARNING
-Us ing clea ning and ca re products inco rrectly
can be dangero us to your hea lth .
- Always store clean ing and ca re prod ucts out
of reach of chi ldren to reduce the r isk of po i­
soning .
@ For the sake of the environment
- Prefe rab ly purchase env ironmenta lly-friend­
l y cleaning prod ucts.
- Do not d ispose o f leftove r clea ning and ca re
p roducts with house hold t rash.
Car washes
T he longer that deposits s uch as insects, bird
d roppings, tree sap or road salt remain on the ve­
h icle, the more the surface can be damaged. High
temperatures such as those ca used by sun light
in crease the damag ing effect .
Before washing, r inse off heavy depos its with
p le nty of water.
St ubborn deposits s uch as bird d roppings or tree
sap are best removed with plenty of wate r and a
m icr ofibe r cloth.
A lso, wash t he un derside of yo ur vehicle once
road sa lt stops being used for the seaso n.
Pressure washers
When washing your ve hicle wit h a pressu re wash­
e r, al ways fo llow the operating instr uctions pro ­
v ided wi th t he p ress ure washer. This is espe cially
i mportant in rega rd to the p ressure and sp raying
d istance . Do not aim the sp ray directly at the

seals on the side w indows, doo rs, lid s or the s un ­
r oof * or at tires, r ubber hoses, insulat ing mater i­
al, sensors* or camera lenses* . Keep a distance of
at least 16 in (40 cm).
D o not remove snow and ice with a p ressure

Never use cone nozz les o r high press ure no zzles .
T he wate r temperatu re mus t not be above 140 °F
(60 °() .
Automatic car washe s
Spray off the vehicle befo re washing.
Make s ure that the w indows and roo f* are closed
and the windsh ie ld wipers are off . Follow instruc ­
tions from the car wash ope rato r, especially if
the re are accesso ries attached to your vehicle.
If possible, use car washes that do not have
brushes .
Washing by hand
Clean the ve hicle starting from t he top and wor k­
in g down using a soft sponge o r clea ning br ush.
U se solven t-free cleaning p ro duc ts.
Washing vehicles with matte finish paint by
hand
To avo id da mag ing the p aint w hen w ashi ng, fi rs t
r emove dust and large p art icl es from you r vehi ­
cl e. Insects, grease spots and finger prints are
best removed w ith a s pecial cleane r fo r matte
f inish paint.
Apply t he p rodu ct using a microf iber cloth . To
avo id damag ing t he pa in t surface, do no t use too
much pressure.
Rinse t he ve hicl e thoroug hly w ith w ate r. T hen
cl ea n usi ng a neutra l shampoo an d a soft mi cro­
f iber cloth .
R inse t he ve hicle thoroug hly aga in and let it air
dry. Remove any wate r residue using a chamois.

wash operator to reduce the risk of acci­
dents.
- To reduce the risk of cuts, protect yourself
from sharp metal components when was h­
ing the underbody or the inside of the wheel
housings .
- After washing the vehicle, the braking effect may be delayed due to mo isture on the
brake rotors or ice in the winter . This in­
creases the risk of an acc ident . The brakes
must be d ried first w it h a few careful b rake
applications.
@ Note
- If you wash the ve hicle in an automatic car
wash, you must fold the exterior m irrors in
to reduce the risk of damage to the mirrors .
P ower folding exte rior m irrors* must o nly
be fo lded in and out using the powe r folding
f u nct io n.
- To reduce t he risk of damage to the rims
and t ires , compare the width be tween the
whee ls on your ve hicl e w it h t he distance be ­
tween the g uide rai ls in the car wash .
- To reduce t he risk of damage, compare the
height and width o f you r vehicle with the heig
ht and w idth of the inside o f the car
was h.
- T o red uce the risk of pa in t damage, do not
was h the vehicle in direct sun light .
- T o red uce the risk of d amage to the s urf ace,
do not use insect removing sponges, k itchen
sponges or similar items .
- Matte finish painted vehicle components:
- To reduce the r isk of damage to the sur-
face, do not use polis hing agents or hard
wax .
- Never use protective wax. It can destroy
the matte finish effect .
- Do not place any stickers or magnet ic
signs on vehicle parts painted with matte
finish paint . The paint cou ld be damaged
when the stickers or magnets are re­
moved .
@ For the sake of the environment
Only wash the ve hicle in facilities spec ia lly de­
s igned for that pu rpose . This will reduce the
r isk of dirty wate r contaminated with o il from
ente ring the sewe r system.

ter-repelling windshield coating agents. Un ­

rims such as stone chips or scratches must
be repaired immediately.

- Neve r use wa rm or hot water to remove
snow or ice from the came ra lens . This
could cause the lens to crack .
- Neve r use ab rasive cleaning m aterials or
a lcohol to clean the camera lens . This
could cause scratches and cracks .

- Remove snow and ice on windows and ex-
terior mirrors with a plast ic scraper. To

one direction and not back and forth.
- N ever remove snow or ice from door win­
dows and mirrors using warm or hot water
because this could cause cracks to form .
- To avoid damage to the rear w indow de ­
fogger, do not apply any stickers on the
heating wires on the inside of the window .
-Deco rati ve parts /trim
- Never use chrome care or cleaning prod-
ucts.
- Paint
-To red uce the risk of scratches, the vehicle
must be free of dirt and dus t before pol­
ishing or waxing .
- To preven t pa int damage, do not pol ish or
wax the ve hicle in direct sunlight.
- To red uce the risk of pa int damage, do not
polish away rust spots.
- Remove cosmetics and sunscreen immedi­
a tely- these could damage the pa int.
- Displa ys/ instrument cluster
- Make sure that the instrument cluster is
switched off and has cooled off before
cleaning it.
- Displays, the instrument cluster and the
trim surrounding it must not be cleaned
w ith dry clean ing methods because they
cou ld become scratched.
- Make sure no fluids enter the spaces be­
tween the instrument cluster and the
trim, because that could cause damage.
- Controls
- Make sure that no fluids enter the con-
trols, because this could cause damage.
- Safety belt s
-Do not remove the safety belts to clean
them .
- N ever clean safety belts or their compo­
nents chemically or with corrosive fl uids
or so lvents and never allow sharp objects
to come into contact with the safety belts.
Th is could cause damage to the belt web­
bing.
- If there is damage to the webbing, the
connect ions, the retractors or the buckles,

seat .
- Objects w ith sharp edges, such as zippers
or rivets on clothing or be lts, can cause
damage to the surface .
- Open hook and loop fasteners, for exam­
ple on clothing, can damage seat covers .
Make sure hook and loop fasteners are
closed .

polish, shoe polish, spot remover or sim i­
lar products .
- Obje cts w ith sharp edges, such as zippe rs
or rivets on clothing or be lts, can cause
damage to the surface .

- Do not turn on the seat heating" to dry the

- To he lp prevent the leather from fad ing,
do not leave the vehicle in direct sunlight
for long periods of time . If leaving the ve­
hicle parked for long periods of time, you
should cover the leather to protect it from
d irect sunlight.

- Insects are easier to remove from paint that
has been freshly waxed.
- Regular waxing can prevent rust spots from
forming.

Placing your vehicle out
of service
If you would like to take your vehicle out of serv­
ice for a longer period of time, contact an author­
ized Aud i dealer or authorized Aud i Serv ice Fac ili­
ty . They wi ll advise you of important measures,
such as corros io n protection, se rvice and storage

:E ' Emergency assistance
General information
.. Par k the vehicle as far as poss ible from moving
traff ic in the event of a breakdown. In the event
of a flat tire, park the vehicle on a leve l surface .
It you are on a steep h ill, be especially careful.
.. Set the parking brake .
.. Switch the emergency flashe rs on.
.. Have the passengers exit the veh icle . They
sho uld move to a safe place, for example be­
hind a guard rail.
& WARNING
Follow the steps g iven above. This is for your
protection and the for the safety of o ther driv ­
ers .
Equipment

The vehicle tool kit, vehicle jack, tire mobility kit
and comp ressor are s to red in the luggage com­
pa rtment unde r the cargo floor cove r. Lift the
cargo floor using the handle.
& WARNING
Impro per use of the vehicle jac k can ca use se­
rious perso nal injuries.
- Never use the screw drive r hex he ad to
tigh ten whee l bolts, since the bol ts cannot
atta in the necessary tighten ing torque if you
use the hex head, potentially ca using an ac­
c ident.
- The factory-supplied jack is i nten ded on ly
for your vehicle model. Under no circ um­
stances should it be used to lift heavy
vehicles or other loads; you r isk injuring
yourself.
- Never start the engine whe n the vehicle is
ra ised, which could ca use a n accident.
- Support the veh icle secure ly with appropr i­
ate stands if work is to be performed under-

neath the vehicle; otherwise, there is a po­
tential risk for injury.
- Never use the jack supplied with your Audi
on another vehicle, particularly on a heavier
one. The jack is only su itable for use on the
veh icle it came with.

The vehicle jack in your vehicle is mainte ­
nance-free.
Tire mobility kit
Preparation

Using the tire mobility kit

If the t ire is p ierced by an o bject su ch as a nail,

T he tire mob ility kit can be used at tempe ratures
as low as -4 °F (-20 °C).
The tire mobility kit may not be used:
- if the tire has cuts or p unctures that are larger
than 0.16 in (4 mm)

Emergency assistance
See an authorized Audi dealer or authorized Audi
Service Facility for assistance in these situations.
A WARNING
-Please note that the tire mob ility kit cannot
be used in all situations, and that it may on­
ly be used temporarily.
- The tire sealant must not come in contact with skin, eyes, or clothes.
- If tire sealant gets in your eyes or on your
skin, thoroughly rinse the affected area im­
mediately with clean water.
- Do not inhale the fumes .
- If you swallow any of the tire sealant, thor-
oughly rinse your mouth immediately and
drink a lot of water. Do not induce vomiting .
Seek medical attention immediately.
- Change your clothes immediately if they get
tire sealant on them.
- If an allergic reaction occurs, seek immedi­
ate medical attention .
- Keep the tire sealant away from children .
(D Tips
-If sealant leaks, allow it to dry in place. You
can then peel it
off like a sticker.
- Note the expiration date on the sealant bot­
tle . Replace the tire sealant at an author­
iz ed Audi dealer or authorized Audi Service
Facility.
- Radio reception can be interrupted when
operating the compressor.
- Obey all laws.

Inflating a tire

sor into position

"" Inflate the tire to between 29 psi (200 kPA)
and 36 psi (250 kPA) and read the pressure on
the gauge.
"" If this tire pressure is not reached, remove the
filler hose . Drive slowly approximately 33 feet
( 1 0 m) forward or in reverse so that the sealant
can be distributed in the tire. Pump up the tire

instructions on the bottle of sealant.
