The stability control function is designed tohelp the driver maintain control of the vehicleon slippery roads or during rapid steering
maneuvers. It works by controlling the Plug-in Hybrid EV System output and the brake oneach wheel.

The ASC is automatically activated when theoperation mode is put in ON. You can deacti-vate the system by pressing down the “ASCOFF” switch for 3 seconds or longer.When the ASC is deactivated, the indica-tor will turn on. To reactivate the ASC,momentarily press the “ASC OFF” switch;the indicator is turned off.
CAUTIONzDo not over-rely on the ASC. Even the ASCcannot prevent the natural laws of physicsfrom acting on the vehicle.This system, like any

zWhen the ASC is activated, you may feel avibration in the vehicle body or hear a whin-ing sound from the Plug-in Hybrid EV Sys-tem compartment.This indicates that the system is operatingnormally. It does not indicate a malfunction.zWhen the anti-lock brake system warninglamp is illuminated, the ASC is not active.

zWhen the select position is other than“D”.zWhen the parking brake is engaged.zWhen the ACC is self-cancelled becausethe system determines that its perfor-mance has declined and it cannot operatetemporarily due to the following situa-tions, the driver is informed by a buzzerand an indication on the screen.•Under adverse weather conditions (rain,snow, sand storms, etc.)•When the sensor is dirty or blocked bysnow and ice.•When a preceding or oncoming vehiclesplashes water, snow, or sand in front ofthe sensor.•The brake pads are overheating.•When you are driving in light traffic withfew vehicles and obstacles in front.
When the ACC returns to normal opera-tion, the indicator is cancelled. If the indi-cator continues, there may be a fault in thesystem. Please contact a MITSUBISHIMOTORS Authorised Service Point.zWhen some problem occurs with the sys-tem. (In this situation, the ACC control isautomatically cancelled and the system isturned off. You are alerted to this situationby the sound of a buzzer and a message onthe display. CAUTIONzDo not load cargo or luggage higher than thetop of the seatback. Be sure that your cargoor luggage cannot move once your vehicle ismoving. Having the rear view blocked, andyour cargo being thrown inside the cabin ifyou suddenly have to brake can cause a seri-ous accident or injury.zLoad heavy cargo or luggage in the front ofthe vehicle. If the load in the back of thevehicle is too heavy, steering may becomeunstable.
Loading a roof carrier
CAUTIONzUse a roof carrier that properly fits yourvehicle. Do not load
luggage directly onto
the roof.For installation, refer to the instruction man-ual accompanying the roof carrier.

zWhen luggage is loaded onto the vehicle,please make sure to drive slowly and avoidexcessive maneuvers such as sudden brakingor quick turning.In addition, place the luggage on the carrierso that its weight is distributed evenly withthe heaviest items on the bottom. Do not loaditems that are wider than the roof carrier.The additional weight on the roof could raisethe vehicle’s centre of gravity and affectvehicle handling characteristics.As a result, driving errors or emergencymaneuvers could lead to a loss of control andresult in an accident.zBefore driving and after travelling a shortdistance, always check the load to make sureit is securely fastened
to the roof carrier.
