The electronic immobilizer is designed toreduce significantly the possibility of vehicletheft. The purpose of the system is to immo-bilize the vehicle if an invalid start isattempted. A valid start attempt can only beachieved by using a key “registered” to theimmobilizer system.

Press the remote control switch, and all doorsand the tailgate will be locked or unlocked asdesired. It is also possible to operate the out-side rear-view mirrors.
Press the LOCK switch (1). All the doors andthe tailgate will be locked. The turn-signallamps will blink once when the doors and thetailgate are locked.Press the UNLOCK switch (2). All the doorsand the tailgate will be unlocked. If the doorsand tailgate are unlocked when the front roomlamp switch is in the “DOOR” position or therear room lamp switch is in the middle (

To o b t a i n a r e p l a c e m e n t o r e x t r a s p a r e k e y,take your vehicle and all remaining keys toyour MITSUBISHI MOTORS AuthorisedService Point. All the keys have to be re-reg-istered in the immobiliser computer unit. Theimmobilizer can register as follows.•Keyless operation key: up to 4 differentkeysCAUTION zDo not modify or add parts to the immobi-lizer system. Doing so could cause theimmobilizer to malfunction.

If you press the power switch withoutdepressing the brake pedal, you can changethe operation mode in the order of OFF, ACC,ON, OFF.

After about 30 minutes has elapsed with theoperation mode in ACC, the function auto-
matically cuts out the power for the audiosystem and other electric devices that can beoperated with that position.When the power switch operate again, thepower is supplied again.

Changing the operation mode
CAUTION zWhen the Plug-in Hybrid EV System is notoperating, put the operation mode in OFF.Leaving the operation mode in ON or ACCfor a long time when the Plug-in Hybrid EVSystem is not operating may cause the auxil-iary battery to be discharged, making itimpossible to start the Plug-in Hybrid EVSystem. zWhen the auxiliary battery is disconnected,the current operation mode is memorized.After reconnecting the auxiliary battery, thememorized mode is selected automatically.Before disconnecting the auxiliary batteryfor repair or replacement, make sure to putthe operation mode in OFF. Be careful if you are not sure which opera-tion mode the vehicle is in when the auxil-iary battery is run down. zThe operation mode ca
nnot be changed from
