The normal level of the coolant
level is achieved by prolonging the
operating time.
The coolant level is indicated by
means of the max. mark in the filler
neck of the coolant expansion tank.

1 Allow the engine to cool down.

anticlockwise, then allow the
pressure to escape.
4 Open cap on coolant tank.
5 The coolant level is correct if it is
just below the Max. mark in the
filler neck.
6 Tighten cap.

All washer jets are supplied from
one tank.
Use a mixture of tap water and
screenwash concentrate for the
windscreen washer system, if nec-
essary with the addition of anti-
freeze.

Rubber hoses (for cooling and heater
system, brake system and fuel system)
should be inspected by a qualified tech-
nician according to the Toyota mainte-
nance schedule.
Rubber hoses are particularly important
maintenance items. Have any deterio-
rated or damaged hoses replaced
immediately. Note that rubber hoses
will deteriorate with age, resulting in
swelling, chafing or cracking.
No maintenance work other than
normal maintenance is required to
keep the emission levels of your
vehicle within the design limits.

socket trigger the alarm system
when the vehicle is locked.
Remove any devices connected to
the OBD socket before locking the
vehicle.

ment available for the model series.
It may therefore describe equip-
ment and functions which are not
installed in your vehicle, for exam-
ple on account of the special equip-
ment selected or the country
specification. This also applies to
safety-relevant functions and sys-
tems. Please comply with the rele-
vant laws and regulations when
using the corresponding functions
and systems.
The on-board tool kit is located on
the right in the boot, under a cover.

The windscreen may sustain damage
if a wiper falls onto it without the wiper
blade fitted. There is a danger of
damage to property. Hold the wiper firmly when changing the wiper blade.
Do not fold in or switch on the wiper
without a wiper blade installed.

Wipers that are folded away from the
windscreen can become trapped if the bonnet is opened. There is a risk
of material damage. Before opening
the bonnet, make sure that the wipers with wiper blades fitted are in contact
with the windscreen.

When replacing the wiper blades, per- form the procedure quickly and do not
leave the wiper arms lifted without the
wiper blades for longer than neces- sary.

If you have been involved in a colli-
sion, perform the following:
1 Immediately leave the vehicle
and move to a safe place in
order to avoid secondary colli-
sions. Make sure to turn the
engine switch off to help prevent
the vehicle from catching fire. If
the airbags have deployed
(inflated), the airbag related
parts will be extremely hot.
Avoid touching the parts with
your hands or any part of your
body.
2 If someone has been injured,
contact emergency services and
request assistance. If someone
has no obvious external injuries,
but they may have a head injury,
keep their airway open while
moving them as little as possi-
ble. If there is danger of the
vehicle being involved in a sec-
ondary collision, move the
injured person to a safe place
while keeping them as horizon-
tal as possible.
The button is located in the centre
console.
The red light in the button flashes
when the hazard warning lights are
switched on.

Open the buckles on the retaining
strap.
To use the fire extinguisher, follow
the manufacturer's instructions on
the fire extinguisher and the infor-
mation supplied with it.
1 Insert the fire extinguisher into
the holder.
2 Hook in and close the buckles.
Have the fire extinguisher checked
every 2 years by any authorized
Toyota retailer or Toyota authorized
repairer, or any reliable repairer.
Take note of the next maintenance
date for the fire extinguisher.
Replace the fire extinguisher after
use or have it refilled.
If the vehicle battery is discharged,
the engine can be started from
another vehicle's battery using two
jump leads. Only use jump leads
with fully insulated terminal clamps.
1 Check whether the battery in the
other vehicle shows 12 volts.
Information about the voltage is
provided on the battery.
2 Switch off the engine of the
other vehicle.

Objects in the driver's footwell can
restrict the pedal travel or block a
pedal that has been pressed. There is a risk of accident. Ensure that items in
the vehicle are stowed securely and
cannot get into the driver's footwell.
