Access

In order to maintain the state of charge of the battery, it is recommended that the roof be operated with the engine running.

Operation of the roof is possible:


- engine running, or

- ignition on.



During operation of the roof with justthe ignition on, starting the engine may cause the roof to stop, depending on the state of charge of the battery. Tohave the roof continue the operation,operate the control again after the engine has started.

Operating zones
There are two operating zones:
Zone A : horizontal operating zone, in manualor automatic mode.
Zone B
: ver tical operating zone, in automaticmode only.
Before operating the roof, ensure that no occupant of the vehicle or person outside the vehicle could be subject to any risk related to the movement of the roof or the rear screen and that no object could interfere with the operation.


Roof positions
Position 0
: Roof completely closed.Position 1: Stop position for automatic roof closing. Position 2
: Roof open horizontally. Position 3
: Roof completely open.

Manual mode
Opening of the roof in zone B
can only be done in automatic
mode.
)In zone A, press and hold the control
without passing the point of resistance to
open the roof. ) The roof stops as soon as you release thecontrol.

Automatic mode


During automatic operation of the roof in zone A, pressing the control stops
the roof.
During complete opening of the roof,the rear screen comes down onto the
rear shelf. Ensure that no object is lefton the shelf which might damage therear screen or the roof.

Automatic opening of the roof in zone Bis not possible if the boot is open. In the event of a problem, check that the boot is fully closed


During an operation in zone B
, an instruction to stop the roof is notpossible.
Pressing the control reverses the direction of movement of the roof,whichever direction the control ispressed.
This "anti-panic" function allows a quick
change in direction of movement of theroof if suddenly required.

Release the control: opening of the roof continues up to the maximum horizontal
position (position 2).
) In zone B
, a press on the control opens the
roof completely (position 3).)In zone A, press the control beyond the point of resistance to begin opening theroof.

Closing
Manual mode
)In zone A, press and hold the control
without passing the point of resistance toclose the roof.
Closing the roof in zone B
can only be done in automatic
mode.
If the roof does not lock correctly, it opensagain by a few centimetres. With the engine running, operate the control again. If the problem persists, contact a CITROËN dealer or a qualified workshop.
)
The roof stops as soon as you release thecontrol. )
To close the roof completely, press and
hold the control until the the roof is heard tolock.

Automatic mode
)In position 3, press the control to begin closing the roof.


When the roof is completely open, the rear screen rests on the rear shelf. Do not place any object on the rear screen.


During automatic closing of the roof in zone A
(position 2to position 1 ),pressing the control stops the roof.
Complete closing of the roof between 1 and 0can only be done in manual
mode. Press and hold the control until the roof is heard to lock. If the roof does not lock correctly, it opensagain by a few centimetres. With the engine running, operate the control again. If the problem persists, contacta CITROËN dealer or a qualified workshop.

Release the control: closing of the roof continues up to position 2.)
Between positions 2
and 1, pressing the control beyond the point of resistance
allows automatic closing of the roof toposition 1.) Between positions 1
and 0
, press and hold
the control until the roof closes fully.


During an operation in zone B
, an instruction to stop the roof is not possible.

Aero-acoustic deflector
Operating the roof when
driving

If a roof operation is star ted before the vehicle'sspeed is above about 70 mph (120 km/h),exceeding this speed limitation leads to the
following situations, depending on the type of
roof operation in progress:


- an operation in progress in zone A
is stopped,

- an opening operation in progress in zone B
is continued through to completion,
For reasons of safety, never operate the roof openingandclosing control above about 70 mph (120 km/h).
On opening the roof, an aero-acoustic deflector
is deployed in order to reduce swirling in the passenger compar tment resulting from air movement, and preser ve the acoustic comfort
of occupants. On closing the roof, the deflector folds away automatically.
) With the roof open, this deflector can befolded away manually and secured at itscentre: press vertically down on the plate
at the top of the deflector and clip it in the
cut-out. ) To release and deploy the deflector
manually, press ver tically down on the plate to unclip it from the cut-out and pull it
gently towards you.

Precautions for use
Do not place objects on the roof, whether open or closed.
In the event of prolonged storage of the vehicle outside, it is recommended that the roof beprotected with a cover.
To avoid damaging the roof, do not open it under snowy or frosty conditions.Do not use sharp tools to remove ice or accumulations of snow on the roof. Do not use scrapers or aerosol products to remove ice that may have formed on the rear screen. Avoid operating the heated rear screen when the roof is completely open (risk of overheating).
To limit the creation of folds in the roof fabric, it is recommended that the roof not be leftopen for long periods.The vehicle's air conditioning system should not be operated while the roof is open.
It is strictly prohibited to sit on or place objects on the transverse roof suppor t when the roof is open.


It is recommended that the roof be closed when the vehicle is left parked. Even if the roof is closed, it is prudent not to leave any valuable objects inside the vehicle.When you leave the vehicle, remove the ignition key to avoid any unwanted operation of theroof.
If your vehicle has a voice command system, this may not work as well when driving with the roof open.
Protection of the roof opening and closing electric motors: during repeated opening and closing of the roof, the electric motors may become too hot and then no longer allow theroof to be opened or closed. Allow the motors to cool down by not operating the roof for ten minutes.

When the vehicle's speed is above about 70 mph (120 km/h), a new operation of the roof is not possible. A message in the screen will inform you that operation of the roof is not possible (speed too high).

If the roof stops in zone B
, a message in thescreen will ask you to stop the operation of the roof immediately. )Press and hold the control:
- in the opening direction to reachposition 3,- in the closing direction to reach position 2.


Reinitialisation

Do not release the control during thereinitialisation procedure.

Downgraded operation
Manual opening and
closing
This procedure must be carried out withthe engine running.
Do not manually open the roof in zone Bwhen the boot is open.
In the event o
f a failure, the roof can be
operated manually. If the automatic roof operation mode is lost, the
s
ystem must be reinitialised. ) Press and hold the control for closing the
r
oof.) After about 5 seconds, the roof closes completely to position 0
, then reverses by a few millimetres.
The roof is the reinitialised.
)Insert fully a 4 mm allen key (not supplied)in the hexagonal socket accessible through
the aper ture provided in the upper boot

im. )Opening and closing of the roof is obtainedby turning the allen key in the appropriate direction.

You must not drive when the roof isstopped in zone B .
