Use the anchor bracket located behind the rear seat on the
floor to attach the top strap.
Anchor brackets are installed for each rear seating position.
This symbol indicates the locations of anchor brackets.

TO USE THE ANCHOR BRACKET
1. Pull up the deck board.

2. Take off the hook at the backside of the deck board.
3. Lift up the back side of the board and secure the board
by hooking it at the top of the back door opening with the
hook at the edge of the strap.
Make sure the board is secured and does not fall down.

4. Remove the cover of the center anchor bracket.
5. Lower the center deck board to the lowest position.

procedure to lower the deck board.

6. While pushing the knob, slide the knob, then release
the lock on both sides and remove the luggage cover.
7. Lower the head restraint.

8. Fix the child restraint system with the seat belt.
9. Take off the carpet, latch the hook onto the anchor
bracket and tighten the top strap.
For instructions to install the child restraint system, see ªTypes
of child restraint systemº on page 143.
CAUTION
Make sure the top strap is securely latched, and check
that the child restraint system is securely by pushing
and pulling it in different directions. Follow all the
installation instructions provided by its manufacturer.

pushing the knob, then securely lock the luggage cover.

Installation with child restraint lower
anchorages
SV16117
The lower anchorages for the child restraint system
interfaced with the FMVSS225 specification are installed
in the rear seat.
The anchorages are installed in the gap at the lower seatback
of both outboard rear seats.
Child restraint system interfaced with the FMVSS213
specification can be fixed with these anchorages. In this case,
it is not necessary to fix the child restraint system with a seat

Type B
For owners in Canada
The symbol on a child restraint system indicates the presence
of a lower connector system.
Type A:
1. Widen the gap at the lower seatback and confirm the
position of the lower anchorages below the button in the
seatback.
2. Latch the hooks of lower straps onto the anchorages
and tighten the lower straps.
Type B:
1. Widen the gap at the lower seatback and confirm the
position of the lower anchorages below the button in the
seatback.
2. Latch the buckles onto the anchorages.
If your child restraint system has a top strap, it should be
anchored. (For the installation of the top strap, see ªUsing a top
strapº on page 161 or 167.)
For installation details, refer to the instruction manual
equipped with each product.
