Main switch
Functions of the respective switch positions are
as follows:
ON:
The engine can be started only at this position.
OFF:
All electrical circuits are switched off. The key
can be removed in this position.

Neutral indicator light “NEUTRAL”
This indicator light comes on when the transmis-
sion is in neutral.

Engine stop switch “ENG. STOP”
Make sure that the engine stop switch is in the
“RUN” position. The engine stop switch controls
ignition and can be used at all times to stop the
engine, especially in an emergency. The engine
will not start or run when the engine stop switch
is turned to “OFF”.

Coupe-circuit du moteur “ENG. STOP”
S’assurer que le coupe-circuit du moteur est
placé sur “RUN”. Le coupe-circuit du moteur
contrôle l’allumage et peut à tout moment servir
à couper le moteur. Il est particulièrement utile
en cas d’urgence. Le moteur ne se met pas en
marche ou ne tourne pas quand son coupe-cir-
cuit est sur “OFF”.

Interruptor de paro del motor “ENG. STOP”

The starter motor cranks the engine when this
switch is pushed.

NOTE:
If the starter switch is pushed with the main
switch “ON” and the engine stop switch “OFF”,
the starter motor will be activated but the engine
will not start. To start the engine, be sure to
position the engine stop switch at “RUN”.

rage avant de mettre le moteur en marche
(voir à la page 6-4).
N.B.:
Si le contacteur du démarreur est enfoncé alors
que la clé de contact est sur “ON” et le coupe-
circuit du moteur sur “OFF”, le démarreur tour-
nera mais le moteur ne se mettra pas en marche.
Avant de mettre le moteur en marche, s’assurer
que le coupe-circuit du moteur est sur “RUN”.

NOTA:
Si se pulsa el interruptor de arranque con el
interruptor principal en “ON” (contacto) y el inte-
rruptor de paro del motor en “OFF” (desconecta-
do), se activará el motor de arranque pero el
motor principal no se pondrá en marcha. Para
que arranque, coloque el interruptor de paro del
motor en la posición “RUN”.

Throttle lever
Once the engine is running, movement of the
throttle lever will increase the engine speed.
Regulate the speed of the machine by varying
the throttle position. Because the throttle is
spring-loaded, the machine will decelerate, and
the engine will return to an idle any time the
hand is removed from the throttle lever.
Before starting the engine, check the throttle to
be sure it is operating smoothly. Make sure it
returns to the idle position as soon as the lever
is released.

Malfunction of the throttle could make it diffi-
cult to speed up or slow down when you
need to. This could cause an accident.
Check the operation of the throttle lever
before you start the engine. If the throttle
does not work smoothly, check for the
cause. Correct the problem before riding the
ATV or consult a Yamaha dealer.

Levier d’accélération
Dès que le moteur tourne, son régime augmente
quand le levier d’accélération est actionné.
Régler la vitesse du véhicule en faisant varier
l’ouverture des gaz. Comme le levier d’accéléra-
tion est muni d’un ressort de rappel, le véhicule
ralentit et le moteur revient au régime de ralenti
dès que le levier est relâché.
Avant de mettre le moteur en marche, vérifier le
bon fonctionnement des gaz. S’assurer que le véhi-
cule retourne au régime de ralenti dès que le levier
est relâché.

Un mauvais fonctionnement du levier d’accélé-
ration risque d’entraver l’accélération ou la
décélération. Ceci peut provoquer un accident.
Vérifier le bon fonctionnement du levier d’accé-
lération avant de mettre le moteur en marche.
Si l’accélérateur ne fonctionne pas correcte-
ment, en rechercher la cause. Corriger le pro-
blème avant de conduire le véhicule ou consul-
ter un concessionnaire Yamaha.

Palanca de aceleración
Una vez que el motor gira con, desplazando la
palanca de aceleración se aumenta la velocidad
de giro.
Para regular la velocidad del vehículo, varíe la
posición del acelerador. Este lleva un muelle de
retorno que hace que disminuya la velocidad y
el motor vuelva al ralentí cuando se retira la
mano de la palanca de aceleración.
Antes de poner en marcha el motor, compruebe
que el acelerador funcione con suavidad.
Asegúrese de que vuelve a la posición de ralen-
tí cuando se suelta la palanca.

Si el acelerador no funciona correctamente,
puede ser difícil aumentar o reducir la veloci-
dad del vehículo cuando se desee. Eso puede
acarrear accidentes. Compruebe el funciona-
miento del acelerador antes de poner en mar-
cha el motor. Si el acelerador no funciona con
suavidad, averigüe la causa. Resuelva el pro-
blema antes de utilizar la máquina, o consulte
a un concesionario Yamaha.
