damage to the transmitter.
Do not leave the transmitter in places
where the temperature becomes high
such as on the dashboard.
Do not disassemble it.
Avoid knocking it hard against other
objects or dropping it.
Avoid putting it in water.
You can use up to 4 wireless remote con-
trol transmitters for the same vehicle.
Contact your Toyota dealer for detailed
information. If the wireless remote control transmitter

When all the side doors and back door
are unlocked simultaneously with a wire-
less remote control transmitter, the interior
light, luggage compartment light, ignition
switch light and foot light come on for
about 15 seconds before fading out, even
if the door is not opened. (For details, see
ªCenter interior and personal lightsº on
page 150, ªCenter interior lightº on page
151, ªLuggage compartment lightº on page
152 and ªIgnition switch lightº on page
152 in Section 1±5.)
You have 30 seconds to open a door after
using the wireless remote unlock feature.
If a door is not opened by then, all the
side doors and back door will be automati-

hands. Water may cause unexpected
rust.
Do not touch or move any compo-

may interfere with proper operation.
Be careful not to bend the electrode
when inserting the transmitter bat-

When you quickly push and release the
switch, the back window will open while
the switch is depressed and stop when
released.
To close: Push the switch on the ª
º
side. The back window will fully close au-
tomatically. To stop the window partway,

released.
You can also open the back window when
the back window wiper is working. At that
time, the wiper stops working until the
window is closed again.
If the back window is not fully closed, the
back window wiper, washer, and defogger
will not work. (See ªBack window wiper
and washerº on page 154 and ªBack win-
dow and outside rear view mirror defog-
gersº on page 154 in Section 1±5.)Jam protection function: During automat-
ic closing operation, the window stops and
opens slightly if something gets caught
between the window and window frame.
If the window receives a strong impact,
this function may work even if nothing is
caught.
CAUTION
Never try jamming any part of your
body to activate the jam protection
function intentionally.
The jam protection function may
not work if something gets caught
just before the window is fully
closed.
If the battery is disconnected or run
down, the back window may not operate
automatically and the jam protection func-
tion will not function correctly after you
reconnect, replace or recharge the battery.
In any of these cases, you should normal-
ize the back window.
To normalize the back window, close the
window fully by the power back window
switch. If the window has already been
closed, open it slightly and then fully
close it using the power back window
switch.
Make sure that the back window opens
and closes automatically. If the back win-
dow cannot be operated properly, have it
