4. Refit the timing cover, step 2.
Standing at the right hand side of the vehicle, rotate and
manoeuvre the cover downwards to clear the water pump
and hoses.

5. Refit the timing cover, step 3.
Ease the cover towards the engi ne and locate it directly
onto the dowels so that th e gaskets or sealant are not
smeared.
6. Fit and tighten the securing bolt s in the correct order. Tighten
to 11-13 Nm.

16. Disconnect the coolant hoses from the throttle body.
Release the clip which secures the coolant return hose and
disconnect the hose. Fit a blanking plug to the hose to
prevent water leakage.
Release the clip which secures the coolant feed hose and
disconnect the hose. Fit a blanking plug to the hose to
prevent water leakage.

17. Disconnect the multi-plug, located on the bracket under the
left side of th e throttle body.

18. Remove the throttle bo dy securing bolts.
19. Remove the throttle body.
1. Remove the throttle body from the induction elbow.
2. Remove and discard the throttle body gasket.

17. Fit the throttle body securing bolts.

18. Reconnect the multi-plug, located on the bracket under the
left side of th e throttle body.

19. Connect the coolant hoses to the throttle body.
Remove the blanking plugs from the hoses.
Connect the coolant feed hose and secure with the clip.
Connect the coolant return hose and secure with the clip.
20. CAUTION: Under no circumstances may the quadrant be
held clear of the throttle stop by cable tension
Refit the throttle cable and ensure that there is neither tension
nor slack in the cable

16. Disconnect the coolant hoses from the throttle body.
Release the clip which secures the coolant return hose and
disconnect the hose. Fit a blanking plug to the hose to
prevent water leakage.
Release the clip which secures the coolant feed hose and
disconnect the hose. Fit a blanking plug to the hose to
prevent water leakage.

17. Disconnect the multi-plug, located on the bracket under the
left side of th e throttle body.

18. Remove the throttle bo dy securing bolts.
19. Remove the throttle body.
1. Remove the throttle body from the induction elbow.
2. Remove and discard the throttle body gasket.

11. Reconnect the multi-plug, located on the bracket under the
left side of th e throttle body.

12. Connect the coolant hoses to the throttle body.
Remove the blanking plugs from the hoses.
Connect the coolant feed hose and secure with the clip.
Connect the coolant return hose and secure with the clip.

13. CAUTION: Under no circumstances may the quadrant be held clear of the throttle stop by cable tension
Refit the throttle cable and ensure that there is neither tension
nor slack in the cable
Tighten the locknut without altering the setting or
introducing twist into the cable outer
Check the kickdown setting us ing the PDU. For scan tool
procedure, refer to 303-14 , Throttle cable, Renew
14. Reconnect the multi-plugs to the throttle body.
1. Connect the throttle body motor multi-plug.
2. Connect the two potentiometer multi-plugs, one each side of the throttle.

16. Disconnect the air cleaner cover.
Remove the five clips which se cure the air cleaner cover.

17. Remove the intake tube / air flow meter / air cleaner cover
assembly.
1. Remove the intake tube / air flow meter / air cleaner
cover assembly.
2. Remove and discard the ru bber seal; air intake tube
to throttle body.

18. Remove the centre trim panel from the engine compartment.
1. Remove the left hand side enclosure panel.
2. Remove the centre trim panel.
19. Release the hoses (Quick Fit connections) from the expansion
tank, using 303 - 623.
1. Release the hose, expansion tank to thermostat housing (coolant outlet pipe on supercharged
engines).

36. Disconnect the engine oi l pressure transmitter.
37. Remove the filler cap from the power steering reservoir.

38. Disconnect the hoses from the power steering pump.
Position a drain tray under the pump.
1. Release the high pressure hose union nut and drain the fluid.
2. Discard the O-ring seal an d fit blanking plugs to the
pipe and union.
3. Release the feed hose from the pump and fit blanking
plugs to the pipe and union.
Discard the fluid.

39. Release the Oxygen sensor multi-plugs from the mounting
bracket and disconnect the plugs.
40. Remove the four nuts, each side, which secure the downpipe
catalytic converters to the exhaust manifold.

56. Disconnect the fuel feed and return hoses.
1. Disconnect the fuel hoses at the Quick Fit connectors,
using special tool 310 - 044 for the feed hose and
310 - 54 for the return hose.
Disconnect the return hose from the feed hose clip.
Fit blanking plugs to the pipes.

57. Disconnect the pipes from the purge valve.
1. Remove the clip which secu res the part load breather
hose to the purge valve.
2. Disconnect the part load breather hose.
3. Disconnect the vacuum hose from the purge valve and reposition the hose.

58. Disconnect the throttle cable.
1. Secure the cable abutment to the bracket with tape or a ratchet strap, if nece ssary (to save subsequent
adjustment procedure). Remove the bolts which
secure the abutment bracke t to the throttle body.
2. Rotate the butterfly actuator cam and disconnect the cable. Reposition the cable.
59. Disconnect the heater and brake servo hoses.
1. Disconnect the he ater return hose.
2. Release the heater feed hose locking lever and
disconnect the hose.
