Inspecting  Wave  Forms  With  An  Oscilloscope
Use  the  following  to   wave
  from   wheel  sensor’ 
lStart  the  engine,  and   by  engaging
  gear  (vehicles   manual  transaxle)  or 
(vehicles with  the rear 
  so  that  they,   at  a 
NOTE
1.  Check  the  connection  of  the 
  before  using  the  oscilloscope.,
2.  The  wave  form  measurements  can  also  be 
the  vehicle  is  actually  moving.
3.  The  output  voltage  will  be  low  when  the  wheel  sp eed
‘is low, and similarly it will be higher as the whe el speed

  FRONT  WHEEL  SPEED 
S P E E D   S E N S O R  
The  clearance  between  the  wheel  speed sensor
rotor’s  toothed  surface  is  not   but   the
distance  between  the   the 
rotor’s  toothed  surface..  .
Standard  value:  28.2-28.5  mm  (1.11-1.12  in.)
INSPECTION
WHEEL  SPEED  SENSOR  CHECK
Refer  to  GROUP   Wheel  Speed  Sensor  Check.
WHEEL  SPEED  SENSOR  INSULATION 
(1)  Remove  all   the  wheel   sensor,
and  then 
  between   (1)
  (2)  and   body  of  the   speed  sensor.
S t a n d a r d   v a l u e :   1 0 0  
  or 
(2)  If  the  wheel  speed 
the  standard  value   replace   speed
sensor.
ABS  ROTOR  CHECK
Check whether ABS rotor is broken or deformed, and,  if so,

ABS  G-Sensor
INSPECTION
G - S E N S O R   C H E C K
(1)  Disconnect  the   connector   the
special  tool  (test,;  harness  set:,,   the
terminals  the   connector. 
(2)  Turn  the  ignition 
the following output voltage.

Standard  value:  2.4-2.6 
(3)  With  the  special  tool  still  connected,  secure  t he  G-sensor
so  that  the  FRONT  mark  on  the  sensor  mounting  surfa ce
is  facing  straight  down,   take  a  reading  of  the
following  output 
Between  terminals  (2)  and  (3)
Standard  value: 
(4)If the voltage   outside  the  standard  value;  after  checking
to  be  sure  that  there  is  no  abnormality  in  the  powe r  supply
-and  earth,  wires,  replace  the  G-sensor.

The fasteners marked  l  be temporarily tightened
before they are finally tightened once the total we ight of
the  engine  has  been  placed  on  the 
 body.
REMOVAL  SERVICE  POINTS
 BRAKE FLUID RESERVOIR ASSEMBLY
REMOVAL
Disconnect  the  brake  fluid  level  sensor  connector  a nd  remove
the brake fluid reservoir assembly from the dash pa nel with
the  hose  still  attached.
NOTE
Place  the  removed  reservoir   where  it
will  not  be  a  hindrance 
power  steering  gear  box,  and 
  REMOVAL 
Disconnect  the   and  remove  the
compressor  from  the 
 the hose 
attached.
NOTE
Place  the  removed  A/C  compressor  in  a  place  where  i t  will
not  be  a  hindrance  when  removing  and  installing  the   brake
fluid  reservoir  assembly,  and  tie  it  with  a  cord.
Caution
Do  not  damage  the  joint  between  the  NC  hose  and  the
  pipe.

STEERING  Power  Steering  Hoses   Engine  (Turbo)  and   Engine>
REMOVAL  SERVICE 
 BRAKE FLUID RESERVOIR ASSEMBLY
REMOVAL
Disconnect  the  brake  fluid  level  sensor  connector and
the brake fluid reservoir assembly from the dash panel with
the hose still attached.
NOTE
Place  the  removed  reservoir  assembly  in  a  place  whe re  it
will  not  be  a  hindrance  when  removing  and  installin g  the
power  steering  gear  box,  and  tie  it  with  a  cord.
 CLUTCH FLUID RESERVOIR ASSEMBLY
REMOVAL
Remove  the  clutch  fluid  reservoir  assembly  from  the   dash
panel  with  the  hose  still  attached.
NOTE
Place  the  removed  reservoir  assembly  in  a  place  whe re  it
will  not  be  a  hindrance  when  removing  and  installin g  the
power  steering  hoses,  and  tie  it  with  a  cord.
  A/C  COMPRESSOR  REMOVAL
Disconnect the A/C compressor connector  remove the
compressor from the compressor bracket with the hos e still
attached.
NOTE 
Place  the  removed  in  a  where  it  will  not  be  a  hindrance  when
removing  and  installing  the  power  steering  hoses  an d  tie
it  with  a  cord.
Caution
Do not  damage  the  joint  between  the  A/C hose  and  the
A/C pipe.
  PRESSURE  HOSE/SUCTION  HOSE  REMOVAL
Caution
Generator is below the oil pump, so cover the gener ator
with  a  shop  towel  before  removing  any  of  the  hoses.
INSTALLATION  SERVICE  POINT
  PRESSURE  HOSE  INSTALLATION
(1)  Connect  the  pressure  hose  so  that  its  slit  part   contacts
the  oil  pump’s  guide  bracket.

TROUBLESHOOTING

the  convertible  top  switch  is  set  to
open  and  close  when  the  convertible
