Adaptive Highbeam Assist automatically switches

= If no other road users are detected, the high
beam will switch on automatically. The high beam will switch

If Adaptive Highbeam Assist is activated,
the

Adaptive Highbeam Assist Plus cannot take into
account r
oad, weather or traPc conditions.
Detection may be restricted in the following
cases:
= In poor visibility, e.g. fog, heavy rain or snow
= if there is dirt on the sensors or the sensors
are obscured
Adaptive Highbeam Assist Plus is only an aid. You
are responsible for adjusting the vehicle's lighting
to the prevailing light, visibility and traPc condi-
tions. Adaptive Highbeam Assist Plus automatically
switc

= ULTRA RANGE Highbeam ULTRA RANGE Highbeam increases the bright-
ness of t

he cone of light to the legally permitted
maximum.
Partial high beam does not include other road
users in the high beam area. It does not dazzle
them but enables full high-beam illumination for
the driver apart from the excluded vehicles. Highly
reOective signs are also illuminated with reduced
brightness.
At speeds below 25 km/h or when there is suP-
cient street lighting:
= Partial high beam and high beam will be
switched oM automatically.
At speeds greater than 30 km/h: = If no other road users are detected, high beam
will switch on automatically.
= If other road users are detected, partial high
beam will switch on automatically.
At speeds above 40 km/h: = If no other road users are detected on a
straight road, ULTRA RANGE Highbeam will be
switched on automatically. Light and sight

above the rear door and the dome lamp on the
respective side of the vehicle will go out. Aser

essing it twice, the reading lamp on
the respective side of the vehicle will go out. 
To switch the rear interior lighting on/oM:

The reading lamps, the interior lighting above
the rear door and the dome lamps on both

Depending on the type of driving condition
(speed, boost eMect or recuperation), this is

Select Brightness. 
Adjust the brightness.
% Depending on the ambient light conditions,
t he ambient lighting will automatically switch
between day and night modes.
Activating the brightness for zones

Operating feedback eMects
= Climate : If c

hanges are made to the tempera-
ture setting in the vehicle, the colour of the
ambient lighting will change brieOy.
= Voice assistant: For vehicles with active ambi-
ent lighting, the voice assistant is visually ani-
mated.
= Interior/exterior lighting : When you get into
the vehicle, a special colour animation will
play.
= Charging sequence : The ambient lighting pro-
vides visual feedback on the diMerent states of charge when the vehicle is connected to or
disconnect
ed from the charging station.
Warning assistance eMects
= Warning when exiting : If an object is detected
in the blind spot while you are getting out of
the vehicle, the ambient lighting in the aMec-
ted door will Oash red.

= Active Lane Keeping Assist : If there is a warn-
ing from Active Lane Keeping Assist, the
active ambient lighting will Oash red.

= Active Brake Assist : If there is an Active Brake
Assist warning, the active ambient lighting in
the centre of the cockpit will Oash bright red.

= Active Blind Spot Assist : In vehicles with
active ambient lighting, the ambient lighting
on the aMected side will Oash red if there is a

If the windscreen wipers begin to move while

ou are changing the wiper blades, you can be
trapped by the wiper arm. 
Always switch oM t

and vehicle before changing the wiper
blades. Moving the wiper arms into the replacement posi-
tion

immediately. 
Within around 15 seconds, press the î

on on the combination switch for approx-
imately three seconds (  page 171).
The wiper arms will move into the replacement
position.
Removing the wiper blades 
Fold the wiper arms away from the wind-
scr

een. 
Hold the wiper arm with one hand. With the
o
ther hand, turn the wiper blade away from
the wiper arm in the direction of arrow 1 as
far as it will go. 
Press release knob 2. 
Remove the wiper blade from the wiper arm in
t

he direction of arrow 3.172

Fitting the wiper blades

Push the new wiper blade into the wiper arm
in t he direction of arrow 1 until release knob
2 engages. 
Make sure that the wiper blade is seated cor-
r

ectly. 
Fold the wiper arms back onto the wind-
scr
een. 
Switch on the vehicle. 
Press the î butt
on on the combination
switch.
The wiper arms will return to their original
positions. 
Switch oM t
he vehicle.
% Check the condition of the wiper blades regu-
lar

ly and replace them in the event of visible
damage or ongoing smearing.
Maintenance display
Ther
e is a maintenance display at the tip of the
newly mounted wiper blade. 
Remove protective Nlm 1 fr
om the mainte-
nance display.
When the colour of the maintenance display
c
hanges from black to yellow, the wiper blades
