Hold the wiper arm with one hand. With the
ot her hand, turn the wiper blade away from
th e wiper arm in the direction of ar row 1 as
fa r as it will go. #
Slide catch 2inthe direction of ar row 3
until it engages in there mo val position. #
Remo vethe wiper blade from the wiper arm in
th e direction of ar row 4. F

Insert the new wiper blade into the wiper arm
in the direction of ar row 1. #
Slide catch 2inthe direction of ar row 3
until it engages in the locking position. #
Make sure that the wiper blade is seated cor-
re ctl y. #
Foldthe wiper arms back onto the wind-
screen. #
Switch on theve hicle. #
Press theî button on the combination
switch (/ page 135).
The wiper arms will return totheir original
positions. #

% Check the condition of the wiper blades regu-
lar lyand replace them in theev ent of visible

Yo u could lose control of theve hicle in thefo l-
lowing situations in particular:
R Ifyo u adjust the driver's seat, the head
re straints, the steering wheel or the mir ror
while theve hicle is in motion.
R Ifyo ufa sten your seat belt while theve hi-
cle is in motion. #
Before starting the drive system: adjust
th e driver's seat, the head restraints, the
stee ring wheel and the mir ror and fasten
yo ur seat belt. &

outside mir ror
The outside mir rors re0ect objects on a
smaller scale. The objects in vi eware in fact
closer than they appear. #
Therefore, alw ays look overyo ur shoul-
der in order toensure that you are aware
of the actual distance between you and

Electrolyte may escape if the glass in an auto-
matic anti-dazzle mir ror breaks. The electrolyte is hazardous
tohealth and cau-
ses ir rita tion. It must not come into contact
with your skin, eyes, respiratory or gans or
clo thing or be swallo wed. #
Ifyo u come into contact with electrolyte,
obser vethefo llowing:
R Immediate lyrinse the electrolyte
from your skin with water and seek
medical attention.
R If electrolyte comes into contact with
yo ur eyes, immediately rinse them
th oroughly with clean water and seek
medical attention.
R Ifth e electrolyte is swallo wed, imme-
diately rinse your mouth out thor-
oughl y.Do not induce vomiting. Seek
medical attention immediatel y.
R Immediately change out of clo thing
which has been contaminated with
electrolyte.
R If an allergic reaction occurs, seek

The inside
rearview mir ror and the outside mir ror
on the driver's side will automatically go into anti-
dazzle mode if light from a headlamp hits the sen-
sor on the inside rearview mir ror.

down wards in the direction of there ar wheel on
th e front passenger's side when:
R the parking position is stored (/ page 141).
R the front-passenger mir ror is selected.

to its original position when:
R you shiT the transmission toano ther transmis-
sion position.
R you are tr avelling at a speed greater than
15 km/h.
