The 360° Came rawill not function or will only
partial lyfunction in thefo llowing situations:
R The doors are open.
R The outside mir rors are folded in.
R The tailgate is open.
R There is heavy rain, snow or fog.
R The light conditions are poo r,e.g. at night.
R Cameras, or vehicle components in which the
cameras are /tted, are damaged, dirty or co v-
ered. Obser vethe information on vehicle sen-
sors and cameras (/ page 191).
% Do not use the 360° Camera under such cir-
cumstances. You could otherwise injure oth-
ers or collide with objects when parking the
ve hicle.
Fo rte ch nical reasons, the standard height of the
ve hicle may be altered if theve hicle is car rying a
heavy load and can result in inaccu racies in the
guide lines and in the display of thege nerated
ima ges. %
The cont rast of the display may be impaired
by abrupt, direct sunlight or by other light
sources, e.g. when driving out of a garage . In
th is case, pay particular attention.
% Have the display repaired or replaced if,
fo re xamp le, pixel er rors considerably restrict
its use.

Pa rking Assist PARKTRONIC is an electronic par k-
ing assistance system with ultrasound. It monitors
th e area around your vehicle using multiple sen-
sors on the front bumper and on there ar bumper.
Pa rking Assist PARKTRONIC show syo uth e dis-
ta nce between your vehicle and a de tected obs ta-
cle visual lyand audib ly.
Pa rking Assist PARKTRONIC is only an aid. It is
not a substitute foryo ur attention tothe sur round-
ings. The responsibility for safe manoeuvring and
parking remains with you. Make sure that there
are no persons, animals or objects in the manoeu-
vring area while manoeuvring and parking in/exit-
ing parking spaces.
In the standard setting, an intermittent warning
to ne sounds from a distance of app roximately
0.3 m toan obs tacle in front and appr oximately
1.0 m toan obs tacle behind. A continuous warn-
ing tone sounds from a distance of app roximately
0.2 m. Using theWarn early all-round setting in
th e multimedia system, thewa rning tones for
front and side impact pro tection can be set tosound at a
greater distance of appr oximately
1.0 m in front and 0.6 m on the sides
(/ page 235).

Pa rking Assist PARKTRONIC does not necessarily
ta ke into account thefo llowing obstacles:
R Obstacles below the de tection range, e.g. per-
sons, animals or objects.
R Obstacles abo vethe de tection range, e.g.
ove rhanging loads, overhangs or loading
ra mp s of lor ries.
The sensors must be free of dirt, ice and slush.
Otherwise, they may not function cor rectl y.Clean
th e sensors regula rly, taking care not toscratch

Pa ssive side impact pr otection is an additional
Pa rking Assist PARKTRONIC function which warns
th e driver about obstacles at the side of theve hi-
cle. A warning is issued when obstacles are
de tected between the front and rear de tection
ra nge. In order for an object on the side tobe
de tected, the sensors in the front and rear
bumper must /rst de tect the object while you are
driving past it.
During the parking procedure or manoeuvring,
objects are de tected as theve hicle drives past. If
yo u steer in the direction of a de tected obs tacle
and there is a risk of a lateral collision, a warning Driving and parking

of at least half a vehicle's length. Once theve hicle

Ac tive Parking Assist is an electronic parking
assistance system, which uses ultrasound with

Camera. When you are driving forw ards up to
appr oximately 35 km/h, the system automatically
measures parking spaces on bo thsides of the

th en independent lylocates and measures parallel
and perpendicular parking spaces on bo thsides
of theve hicle.
When Active Parking Assist has de tected parking
spaces, theÈ display appears in the multi-
function displa y.The ar rows show on which side
of thero ad de tected parking spaces are located.
They are then shown in the media displa y.
The parking space can be selected as desired.
Depending on the location of the parking space,
th e parking direction (rear wards or forw ards) can
also be selected as desired. Ac
tive Parking Assist pr ovides assistance when
ch anging gear, accelerating, braking and steering
th eve hicle.
Ac tive Parking Assist is only an aid. It is not a sub-
stitute foryo ur attention tothe sur roundings. The
re sponsibility for safe manoeuvring and parking
re mains with you. Make sure that no persons, ani-
mals or objects etc. are in the manoeuvring

Ac tive Parking Assist is cancelled if, among other

Objects located abo veor below the de tection
ra nge of Active Parking Assist are not de tected when
the parking space is being measured. These
are also not take n into account when the parking
manoeuvre is calculated, e.g. overhanging loads,
ov erhangs or loading ramp s of lor ries, or the
boundaries of parking spaces. In some circum-
stances, Active Parking Assist may therefore
guide you into the parking space prematurel y. &

rain may lead toa parking

uphill gradient.
R Ifyo u ha veinstalled snow chains.
Ac tive Parking Assist may also display parking
spaces that are not suitable for parking, e.g.:
R Parking spaces where parking is prohibited.
R Parking spaces on unsuitable sur faces.
Ac tive Parking Assist will not assist you with par k-
ing spaces at right angles tothe direction of tr avel
in thefo llowing situations:
R If two parking spaces are located immediately
next toeach other.
R Ifth e parking space is immediately next to a
low obstacle suc has a kerb. Ac
tive Parking Assist will not assist you with par k-
ing spaces parallel or at right angles tothe direc-
tion of tr avel in thefo llowing situations:
R Ifth e parking space is on a kerb.
R Ifth e parking space is bordered byan obs ta-
